Hello Everyone!
Sorry I haven't posted - things are manic! Mollie is doing well although they had to suspend her feeds for a couple of days this week as she had a soft but distended tum. An x-ray was done which was clear, which was a relief although I wasn't too worried as she was still poo-ing for england. It seemed that she had a windy tum, but as she was so premature the hospital had to be cautious. If they carried on feeding her they could have done her gut some serious harm.
Went in this morning and she was off the drip that they had put her on whilst she was off milk - thank god. Got a problem though - as she was getting really stressed at the drip, a couple of days ago we gave her a tiny dummy to help sooth her. Mollie now wants the dummy (but only in the evening!?)- amazing how quickly they learn! I had previously been putting her to the breast which she had done really well at so maybe that had something to do with it? Anyway (am tired hence rambling) I don't strictly have a problem with dummies but I don't want her taking it for granted - does that make sense? I know she's not having it 24 hrs but it seems to have become a necessity in the evening.
I hope that the problem with her tum is a minor setback as she was doing so well. It's just so frustrating as you don't know what caused it. I just want her home! On the weight front she has put on a full pound so my little porker is now 3 pounds and 10 onces (she has also grown 3cm)! She looks so edible She also had her hearing test the other day which she passed. Another hurdle covered as alot of prem babies do lose some hearing. She can hear all the rubbish mummy and daddy say to her
I'm glad everyone else is doing well. Jems, I know its probably too late but I got one of those long nursing pillows which was fantastic. When I was in hospital I wrapped myself around it (as had no DH!) and it helped my hips immensley and I got a good nights sleep. Its also a good back support and will help to support baby when breastfeeding!
Anyway, must go to bed and do what babies do - well just the snoozing part
