Hiya! I have no idea when Mollie is coming home. She should be on 3 hourly feeds for a few days, then 4 hourly then on demand feeding. She was due on 11th July so I hope that she will be out before then!

Serenequeen - you've well and truely hit the nail on the head!

Don't worry sweetkitty - you will be fine, just remember that when you push, push like you're having the biggest poo of your life and if something escapes, well never mind - they've seen it millions of times before! The most important thing is to be focused on the job in hand - getting that baby out! The last thing on my mind was what was going on around me! Well that's how I was with my first two! With my caesarean it was a really relaxed affair. They had reggae music playing in the background with stuff like 'Everything is Gonna Be Alright'. I also had really friendly surgeons which helped.

Right - off to the hospital now! Byeeeeee!!

AAAAAARRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG

Sorry, just had to get that out...............have just had a huge row with Index - BASTARDS - I rang to find out where my cot was as it hadn't been delivered with everything else and this dippy lady says to me "Oh, it's been returned to us, we tried to deliver it but you weren't there so we have credited your account"

BOLLOCKS was my response to that - if that was the case why only try and deliver the cot once but redeliver the rest 3 times - and why leave cards for the other 2 items but not the cot - AND WHY NOT BOTHER TELLING ME IF THAT WAS THE CASE - Do they think my baby is going to sleep in the drawer of it's nice new wardrobe ffs?????????????????????? I did ask her this and demanded an answer to which she sheepishly responded with a "no of course not Ms *"!

Sorry about that ladies - Rant over - for the time being anyway

Helsbels · 07/06/2004 16:10

hi all
sweet kitty - don't worry - you will be ok ( I am a complete control freak and I managed!) I had pethidine and you do feel lightheaded but you also feel like the most powerful thing in the universe!!

sweetkitty · 07/06/2004 17:00

SC I know exactly what you mean don't get me started on delivery people, I ordered a whole load of stuff from Babiesrus as they didn't stock it in my local store. They tried to deliver it 3 times but couldn't get it into their head that I work full time 5 days a week. They are not the only people who think like this why do delivery people not offer a Saturday morning delivery or something! When you phone them they treat you like your mad and say can't you let a neighbour in to wait on it - no I would like to have a house left have you seen my neighbours? In the end they left it outside the door and luckily it didn't get stolen. I'm going to wait till I'm on maternity leave to get the cot and if DD comes before them DP will be sent out to buy a cot pretty quick. Can't you wait and order it to be delivered the first week your on mat leave?

SpringChicken · 07/06/2004 20:22

Oh great, i've ordered bits from Babiesrus too - will prob have the same problem with them......

Just wanted to ask a quick question - i see my mum every day as i work with her - she commented today on how low my bump looked all of a sudden and said that maybe the head was engaging.
However, having never done this before, don't really know what to expect when the head engages - i have noticed over the last day or 2 quite alot of pressure and the need to wee much more than usual (4 times last night ) and everything seems to be bulging a bit down below (Tmi, i know, sorry).
Anyone got any ideas?

Quackers · 07/06/2004 23:36

Hi! Yep Jems, sounds like you've engaged. I remember bump dropping about 35 weeks and I could breath again!!!! Nice one. Pain in the arse about Index though. You can't relyon anyone.

Toothache LOL 9 pounder! They estimate 7 pounds. But DD slowed down alot in the last month or so, so they wont know until just before. They are scanning again so I'll know if it;s going to be a porker!!

Good news - baby has turned of it's own accord and is now 3/5th engaged, i hope this doesn't mean it's planning an early escape

Hope everyone else is OK and looking forward to thier impending arrival.
xx

hermykne · 09/06/2004 00:51

hi everyone
every seems to be doing ok which is great to see. i just wanted to ask if any of you have another child/baby under 2? or thereabouts, and how are you planning for the new arrival etc

SpringChicken · 09/06/2004 13:27

Could be Carwillin - you never know - I hope mine is planning an early escape

Bits arrived from Babies r us today - WOHOO - Only ordered them on Tuesday too, so doubly amazed.

Starting to feel a bit strange but can't quite think of the right word to explain how i feel - it is now FINALLY starting to sink in, that in a very short space of time there is going to baby in our lives that is all our responsibility - Most of you will prob know we've had a bit of a situation with MIL pressuming she is wanted at the birth when in fact we just thought it would be nice for her to be at the hospital in the waiting area.
Anyway, she then booked a holiday and due to my dates being wrong it turned out she isn't due back until the day after my EDD - we thought it best not to mention anything to MIL and then if baby arrives whilst she is away we don't have to worry about her being there - However, it has suddenly dawned on me how horrible this will be for my DP.
It is the 3rd anniversary of when his dad past away on Sunday so that is hard anyway, plus if this baby does come early (which i think it will) the only member of his family that qill be around is one of his brothers - his Mum is on holiday with the brother he is closest too & his other brother lives hundreds of miles away.

Anyway, i'm rambling now but it just dawned on me the other day how completely selfish i feel - it's bad enough his dad not being here but if this baby does arrive early (which i have been hoping and praying for) he will only have 1 brother around to share it with, whilst all my family will be bashing the hospital doors down!

littlerach · 09/06/2004 13:35

I wouldn't worry too much, babies have a habit of turning up when they want to, so even the best laid plans etc etc!!! Anyway, this is one time when you are entitled to be selfish, although I can't see how you are being selfish, if that makes any sense!!! All that matters is that you have DP and anyone else YOU want at the birth, and that you are happy!!!!

Have decided to start getting organised this weekend, as if this one is early, I want to have some stuff ready!! Saw MW today, am measuring just below average, baby head down and the right way round. Hurrah!!! They want to see me more often now, but we reached a compromise! 2 More weeks of work left, then we should move house!!!!

Hope everyone is well.xx

NorfolkTurkey · 10/06/2004 02:43

Yippeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

Went into the hospital today and was told by the nurse who's looking after Mollie that the doctors think she is ready to coming home as she has been gaining weight, feeding well (including at the breast).

This involves me spending two days in hospital on tuesday and wednesday doing everything for her, and coming on on Thursday!

serenequeen · 10/06/2004 10:44

what marvellous news! you must be so pleased. well done all of you and congratulations

littlerach · 10/06/2004 12:02

What wonderful news!!

Quackers · 10/06/2004 21:23

That's fab Norfolk!!!! I'm delighted! I bet you can;t wait to ge her home and be a family now!!!! xxx
Jems, I don;t think you;'re selfish either. It's the one time that you and DP should be together and share it together. I wouldn;t let anyone near me. They can wait. It's your moment. xxx

madgirl · 11/06/2004 00:42

so so happy for you. what a week it will be!
don't suppose anyone else has any twinges?

karen01 · 11/06/2004 00:55

NT glad to here Mollie is doing so well and will be home soon.

Toothache · 12/06/2004 12:01

Whoa... just noticed the new emoticons!!

NT - That news has made me all emotional! Well done your DD. She is a real trooper isn't she?? When was your actual due date supposed to be?

SC - You're NOT being selfish!

Madgirl - What d'you mean anyone ELSE getting twinges??? Are you going to skip in front of everyone on the JUNE thread? You haven't posted since Saturday night..... what's the news?

SpringChicken · 12/06/2004 13:49

Norfolk That is fantastic news I am so so so pleased for you x

Had a bit of a strange weekend - from Saturday evening all through yesterday i felt really strange - it wasn't something i could put my finger on, just felt wierd. Tried breaking it down, did not feel ill, did not feel tired........just very odd.
All saturday evening was very uncomfortable and kept fidgetting up and down - same all day yesterday - didn't eat a thing all day but wasn't at all hungry - tried to force myself to eat some picky bits (cucumber, peppers etc) at about 7p.m but just didn't want them - DP ended up eating them.
Very odd indeed - feel back to normal today though

How everyone else going? Coping with the heat?

serenequeen · 12/06/2004 13:54

oh god, the heat...

Toothache · 12/06/2004 13:56

SC - THe restlessness and fidgeting are very common in the last few weeks. Apparently this is usually when the nesting instinct kicks in. You suddenly find a burst of energy and start frantically cleaning things!

That'll be twice in 3 yrs my cupboards will ber clean then!

I painted a garden gate at 37 wks and was in hospital the next day with high BP. My guess is SC that you will go before your due date. With your bump moving down and now this restlessness.... I give you 3 wks.

SpringChicken · 12/06/2004 14:06

Oh carry on Toothache - i like the sound of that . Although, wouldn't give me alot of time after finishing work but i think i can handle it!

Only 14 more days at work and it is soooooo hard to get motivated - i just cannot be bothered

Toothache · 12/06/2004 14:10

SC - I have 17 days left to work and am equally de-motivated! I'm spending so long on MN these days that I'm half expecting to be paid off as a result!!!
It's really pissing me off as people seem to have stopped coming to me with work! I have noticed that they are just doing without or going elsewhere. How insulting????

serenequeen · 12/06/2004 15:14

yes, toothache, i had that last time and it's happened again to an extent. i don't like it much either. as sc says, it's hard enough to get motivated...

Celou · 12/06/2004 18:45

I don't know how you guys do it, still working!! Mind you if I was still at work (I left 2 weeks ago) at least there would be air conditioning. I cannot believe how hot it is!!!
I'd prepared a list of things to do for when I'm off, but even the thought of going to the washing line takes all my energy away ( I have to say my garden is quite steep, and the washing line is at the top). At least all the main things are ready: hospital bag, labour bag, babies clothes...
Nights are getting worse and worse, I'm just too hot and toss and turn all the time. Plus I've got a stuffy nose, really bad heartburn and tiny feet in my ribs.
