Pregnancy

38 weeks and going crazy, anyone else?

I'm due 23rd April but as soon as I became 37 weeks (full term) I just felt so desperate to meet my baby. After suffering with hyperemesis for the first 4 months and now terrible pelvic and hip pain, I can't say I've hugely enjoyed pregnancy. I feel like I spend my days googling natural induction methods and early labour signs. Does anyone else over analyse every little symptom they have and feel like they are just waiting for something to finally happen....

Gaaaaaaaahhhhh still here!! Angry

Yesterday i felt like shite (hence the radio silence) and lay on the sofa in the afternoon (DS being babysat by Ice Age 2 - the meltdown!)

Today i decided i had to get out, so DS and i went to the park then to his friends house to play, it was nice to have some normal conversation with friends that didnt revolve all around my false alarms!

However tonight i am feeling shite again, when we got home i got all uncomfortable (well more than usual!). I am now walking like John Wayne and biting DH's head off (and shouting at the cats! Hmm ) only DS is getting off lightly but just because he has suffered my moods all week bless him!

I really want this discomfort to mean something but i just know it means feck all. I had my last scan yesterday and the sonographer told me that the head isnt yet engaged - can it engage within 24 hours? My friend said that she went from absolutely nothing to waters breaking and painful contractions within minutes - praying this happens to me tonight!! We have everything in place - DH is now off work (as the ELCS is on Monday) and DMIL is only an hour away - my friend has also said she will come round and crash on the sofa if it happens in the middle of the night to look after DS.

Of course all this organisation means that nothing will happen and i am going in for ELCS! DH said his PA's have had a book going and have predicted Sunday, apparently they are never wrong (yay!)

Sorry for self indulgent post but at 38+5 i am feeling a tad hormonal.. Wink

Ok, ok I now have a packed bag! As I'm finally organised it had better not be too much longer. Having the bag ready to go makes me quite scared :( Quiet weekend ahead so too much time to dwell on twinges.
Still have pelvic pain after sitting or lying for a while but baby is still moving lots - which makes me wonder if that's possible if it's ready?! Last MW appt said 2/5 engaged.
Any update sammi?

Good luck Sammi!

Awake since 6 here-lots of random stuff going through my head. Drinking a cup of raspberry leaf tea in the vain hope that will help!

Im now 41 weeks.

Constant pelvic pain and nausea. Can't sleep. I'm going into this birth exhausted and drained.

I begged to be induced early as I have big babies and had third degree tear last time. But got a firm no.

I've been a nurse. Wouldn't have left a patient suffering like this. But because we're women we have to suffer it.

be careful what you wish for ladies.

Mini Martha arrived at 08:51 this morning by EMCS Grin

Waters broke at 4.30 this morning (it felt like a mini balloon popping inside me followed by small leakage) itwoke me with a start and I just 'knew'. Went to the loo and more leakage but not a gush.

Went back to bed but the contractions started every 10 mins for an hour then quickly progressed to fucking painful every 2-3 mins. It is true that you cannot function anything normal during labour.

Had a warm bath but could feel the waters going in the bath. Rang our cavalry and the hospital and went in. They offered me a vbac but I was in so much pain I requested a EMCS. I was only 2cm dilated.

Mamma and son doing well. I am a smitten kitten. He is gorgeous.

Good luck ladies xxx

Any updates anybody?? Nothing still from me, due date came and went yesterday without incident!! Am hoping to take DS1 for a last swimming session this afternoon so I'll be happy for the baby to arrive from tomorrow!
Everyone keeps asking who is coming to look after our toddler and it's quite frustrating not knowing when it will kick off or how long it will take so we can make arrangements... We have lots of people on standby but it depends what time of the day or night or what day of the week it happens...

Understand about the organizing honey badger. A lot depends for us on who minds dd as well as to what time of the week and day it is!

Nothing happening here. Did wake up at 3 am with a real pain in my bump and thought it was starting but as I was able to go back to sleep, it wasn't!! Had a dreadfully painful back all day yesterday- couldn't get out of the car at one stage with the pain so really hope things kick off soon as can't take another day of back pain. In with doc today so will see what he says.

Still waiting and still here... Having a bit of back ache but nothing out of the ordinary. So wish baba would decide to make an appearance soon!

Sorry for the delay, ended up having to be induced and forceps delivery on due to placental bleed and heart rate dropping. He is doing very well the little chunk but I'm struggling with my tears (the cut doesn't hurt)
