Pregnancy

38 weeks and going crazy, anyone else?

I'm due 23rd April but as soon as I became 37 weeks (full term) I just felt so desperate to meet my baby. After suffering with hyperemesis for the first 4 months and now terrible pelvic and hip pain, I can't say I've hugely enjoyed pregnancy. I feel like I spend my days googling natural induction methods and early labour signs. Does anyone else over analyse every little symptom they have and feel like they are just waiting for something to finally happen....

Still no babies?!

Thought labour was kicking off for me last night, terrible back ache all day added with period type pains for 2 hours solid, worded my mum as she'd have to come & watch DS, decided to go to bed and they eased off..

38+6 today & am ready for labour now!

Backache and period-like pains since 4am, small amount of pink discharge... What do you think? [looks up hopefully emoticon]

Much of the same here with back ache and mild cramps, I'm just waiting to think ouch that really hurt and to then continue the pain but no such luck here.
Torfhinn - think it's a maybe, it's soooo frustrating I know.
It's been 48 hours since I lost my plug so feeling quite disheartened now, really thought it would have started by now. Think it's like you poor ladies who have a sweep, you really think that's going to be the game changer, but no babies out yet :(

Morning. Welll all still intact Angry I was all geared up last night. Strong contractions every 9 mins for about 3 hours. Ready to call MIL to look after DS. Decided to go to sleep then - nothing.

Still only 37+5 but 2 of my ante natal group delivered at 37 weeks Envy

Lots more walking today then!

Anyone else just getting loads of Braxton Hicks? I feel like my body has been gearing up for days but no true labour! Just needed to get that little moan out!

Oakley I started losing my plug nearly 2 weeks ago, then I found out it keeps growing back. So along with the cramps pains and bad stinky belly I have decided it's not really happening til my waters go!

Yay misty! Hope all goes smoothly.

Oakley- I'm still getting loads of braxton hicks, with the odd painful one and backache. Definitely feel like things are gearing up so hopeful labour will be days not weeks away for both of us Smile

Martha - how frustrating for you, still its all positive signs!

Yay Misty! Sending easy labour wishes to you. Grin

I'm having a day of nesting and sorting in between chilling on the sofa. My washing machine has just decided to break down - so not good timing for a nesting pregger woman!

38+5.

yay misty - brilliant news. Oakley & Torfhinn - am sure it wont be long for you, it all sounds hopeful.

I am nesting like a mad thing. Cleared out the airing cupboard this morning, but I feel....literally nothing! No twinges, no aches, no leakage. Am bloody exhausted but then I have a 5 year old and a 2 year old already so nothing new there. I am definitely going to go the full way.

I have been nesting too, sorting out the nursery and bits. The study had a clear out last week and i have listed some old furniture on ebay.

I am also having loads of Braxton Hicks/False labour contractions today. I have decided i am going to have an early night every night if i can then that will make the days go quicker or-something Hmm

Helpful advice from DM this morning when i told her about my false contractions 'well you dont want the baby to come for another week yet do you dear' (1)baby will come when it is ready not when i want it to and (2) yes i bloody do want the baby to come now woman!!!!!!

Martha - how can you tell when they are false contractions? I have been having contractions in my lower bump and back for the past 2 hours or so. I timed them for a while and they were about 5-7 minutes apart but they are no more painful than average period pain. I keep alternating between thinking I am going into labour, and then thinking this could go on for days Shock DH has decided to have a nap 'just in case' Grin

Hope all is going well for Misty - perhaps no news is labour news?!

torfhinn to be honest it is all guesswork!

My belly goes really tight, and solid. I get tightening pains in the lower tummy and lower back, it just feels like everything is 'contracting' inside. I also have to breathe through it. The pain only lasts about a minute to 90 seconds. I have only had a couple today but they came thick and fast last night (which is why i nearly phoned the hospital). Mine were on a par with period pain - just more uncomfortable

The only reason i reckon they are false contractions is because i have hardly had any today and had loads last night.

You are a lot closer than me torfhinn so maybe you could give the hospital a call, especially if they are only 5-7 mins apart. They can give you advice if nothing else. Good luck! Smile

Thanks for the quick reply Martha - its so hard to know what's going on, especially as everyone is so different! I decided to make some dinner and see if they carry on through activity, as the interweb says nothing will stop real labour. I'll time them again after I've eaten and call the hospital if they are still as frequent. It's quite exciting though, cos this is the first day where I feel that this baby might actually be born soon! Good luck to you too - when are you due?
