Pregnancy

38 weeks and going crazy, anyone else?

I'm due 23rd April but as soon as I became 37 weeks (full term) I just felt so desperate to meet my baby. After suffering with hyperemesis for the first 4 months and now terrible pelvic and hip pain, I can't say I've hugely enjoyed pregnancy. I feel like I spend my days googling natural induction methods and early labour signs. Does anyone else over analyse every little symptom they have and feel like they are just waiting for something to finally happen....

Nothing to report overnight
Have had acupuncture today and DTD though. Going for a lomg walk followed by a curry later. If that doesn't work I am going to admit defeat!

Yes, me! I'm also due on the 23 April, but booked in for a c-section next week. I'm in a state of high anxiety all the time, from worrying whether I've got everything for the baby, to feeling guilty that my DD won't be an only child anymore and how her life is going to change, to worrying about the c-section (as the last one was an emergency and passed in a blur). I've been having BH several times a day, but don't want the baby to come early as that would mean another EMCS :( I'm still working (from home for the past two weeks) until today, but that is a good thing as it keeps my mind off the baby worries!

So glad I found this thread. I'm 38+4. Had a sweep Monday and I was already 3 cm then! Had loads of mild contractions since ( always in the early hours) lost my plug 24 hrs ago but still no labour. God knows how dialated I am now. I can't complain really as I'm being induced on Monday (although dr assured me I won't last that long) I'm epileptic so try don want me to go beyond 39 weeks. Hope I can go naturally.

Ps be careful of pineapple I ate a whole

Oakley I'm also due 23rd, and I'm currently stuck in the "I'm going to be pregnant and in a pain fprever" phase! Sweep booked at 39 weeks and scan tomorrow as I'm measuring big

Bb14 - sounds like things are moving along for you so that's good news. Amazes me though you can be 3cm, mild contractions, lost your plug and still no labour, must be very frustrating!
Sammi - hope your scan goes well, are they seeing if the baby is big or if it's just fluid.
Would ppl recommend a sweep, as in is it very painful? I get the impression it has a pretty good sucess rate?

They're making sure it's not fluid, but he's always measured a week ahead so I'm nor worried.

This is my first so no experience of a sweep before, iv been told it's uncomfortable but not very painful xx

Sweep not at all painful for me. But maybe that's because I was already erm "open" sorry that's terrible! Good luck ladies. Someone will pop this weekend I'm sure

Had a sweep with DS1 at 41 weeks and I found it highly uncomfortable, rather than painful. But it was over and done with in a few minutes so really not unbearable. I also only needed one sweep, contractions started a few hours later. But my current midwife assures me that is unusual for a first baby.

Here's hoping I'm unusual!

Sammi, you are lucky! I am measuring 5 weeks ahead due to fluid and so am currently measuring 44 weeks! My hospital will not induce me until term though so I still have 10 days to go! Can barely move.

Am sore between my legs this morning - is that a sign does anyone know?

Hi ladies! I am 39 weeks tomorrow. Went for reflexology yesterday and she said she didn't think I was imminent. I've had no signs either. Looks like I'm going to have to wait.

Myhairdresser said she got sore between her legs the day before she have birth.

My back and hips very sore, I'm always hoping my back ache is the start of labour but never is just the usual ache of pregnancy!
Not sore between the legs but when stand up after awhile of sitting down, can always feel that pressure of the baby, my last midwife appointment said she was 3/5 engaged.
Quite a lot of baby movement today, anyone else feel like baby can't have much space left in there!

Me definitely. His legs are measuring a couple of weeks ahead but I'm 6ft so not surprised. Also 3/5 engaged but iv still had a foot permanently under my rib!

Any news anyone? How are you all feeling? My soreness went away :-(
This morning I feel fine!
I am measuring 44 weeks so I definitely feel like there is no room in my body!

Report
OakleyCat · 13/04/2014 10:23

Nothing exciting happening here, still uncomfortable and achey but no labour signs!
Measuring 44 weeks must be so hard, just having to get up to go pee can be hardwork when your tummy is big and full of baby!
Please come out babies, we want to meet you (and not have to be pregnant any longer.)

Keep getting tummy cramps like iv got an upset bowel. Aside from that, nothing

Report
Bb14 · 13/04/2014 12:09

I'm just a bit crampy today. Waiting for the hospital to ring and let me know what time my induction is tomorrow. Eeek

Nothing here either, hip pain at night getting worse - oh joy! My instinct says I'm gonna go over due so trying to carry on as normal and not analyse every little tweak and twinge Grin 39 weeks today!

Torfhinn · 13/04/2014 12:10

Ooh exciting bb, good luck for tomorrow!

Good luck tomorrow bb!
It's my baby shower today. Would be funny if I went into labour during!

Report
kjh5 · 13/04/2014 16:06

Nothing here either! Had a few contractions throughout the night that felt promisingly bad but they never actually built into anything, just died out as per usual! Have just been on a long walk though (via a pub garden for some munch) and eaten almost an entire pineapple... maybe that'll get things going!

Good luck tomorrow Bb!

Ooh Sammi maybe the baby will make its appearance after the excitement of the shower ;)
