Pregnancy

38 weeks and going crazy, anyone else?

I'm due 23rd April but as soon as I became 37 weeks (full term) I just felt so desperate to meet my baby. After suffering with hyperemesis for the first 4 months and now terrible pelvic and hip pain, I can't say I've hugely enjoyed pregnancy. I feel like I spend my days googling natural induction methods and early labour signs. Does anyone else over analyse every little symptom they have and feel like they are just waiting for something to finally happen....

Sending you hugs raisingirls, I'm feeling really frustrated, I can't imagine how I'll feel if I go that over due. Have they given you an induction date?
I got to admit I'm not really having any signs today either. :( even tried sex earlier but was just way too uncomfortable.

I'm feeling pretty down and frustrated today. But feel unreasonable as it's not even my due date so determined not to wallow in pity!

I am getting annoyed at my mum, because she keeps phoning asking 'any twinges?' followed by ' oh do you think you will last your last 3 days?' and other stupid comments. Last time I didn't tell her I was being induced because she drove me mad. Not telling her this time either! She is really really annoying me!! Last thing she said before hanging up was 'remember to let me know if anything happens' errr yes I will, once the baby is out!

Was having regular, painful contractions from 5pm yesterday, they got as close as 3-4 muniute intervals, didn't sleep all night because of the pain, lost my mucus plug at 6am this morning, gets to 11am and they are slowing down Sad Noooo! I actually convinced myself that I would have this baby today, and now i'm thinking that this could go on for days Shock

Sorry everyone else is feeling frustrated too

Poor you Torfphinn, I can convince myself baby is coming when I have no pains! Nevermind things actually happening and then stopping. It's been a good few days now since I lost my plug but a good percentage of women do go into labour within 48 hours of losing it so fingers crossed for you!

Happy Easter Everyone! Can't believe I'm still pregnant and uncomfortable. Still lots of back ache and BH but these now seem like a normal part of life!
Hope someone has some good news!

I have no news :-( but all day yesterday and today I had a feeling things might start today. Don't think they will though (so desperate not to be induced on Tuesday!). Feel a little periody today though and very very very hungry and (still) grumpy!

It's a rainy day - thinking of all those people with small children already who are overdue!

Can I join please? 11days to go and have had enough. Dh keeps telling me to take it easy but then doesn't do anything to help me so I have to do it all anyway! Dd is driving me up the walls by just being a normal 4 year old- I feel so bad that I keep snapping at her all the time but I am wrecked all the time and just feel like crying..

So went in for monitoring and another attempt at a sweep today - sweep failed. Absolutely no progress since last time. Sad

Midwife tried to convince me to be induced tomorrow (40+10) but I declined.

Baby is fine as am I, but starting to feel a bit of pressure from everyone (family and medics) to go for an induction. Everyone nervous about stillbirth risk.

I am seeing the consultant on Tuesday where they will again try another sweep - just have to pray there's been some progress by then.

Pleased to announce the safe arrival of baby torfhinn this morning, weighing in at an impressive 9lb 1oz. Fairly stressful labour culminating in a forceps delivery with episiotomy and tear of unknown degree (I haven't dared ask), but both mum and baby recovering well in hospital

Good luck and best wishes to all of you! X

I'm 38+2 and I'm having an elective on Friday..... But I had contractions for 90 mins last night, was convinced that it was "time" and got quite excited and then they bloody stopped! Kinda wanna do it naturally (dd1 was 10 days late after a sweep and back to back and large so had emergency section) so hoping that if baby comes early she will be smaller and I may be able to do it!

So frustrated that it stopped! Oh well only 5 days to wait till I meet DD2

Evening everyone - i am still here Angry

Well we are all feeling right royally fed up arent we Sad I have had false labour contractions since Thursday night and am pissed off with myself that i told DM and DMIL as they both did this kind of face Hmm when i told them (well it was on the phone but i felt the Hmm vibes). Cue lots of 'yes yes dear well you could have them for aaaaages)

torfhinn are you on radio silence because you are in labour or just fed up? That all sounds so frustrating, but at least your plug has gone (yay for plug loss!)

raisin i feel your pain. The last thing i want is induction or ELCS (they wont induce me but want to ELCS me a week tomorrow due to Gestational Diabetes) and i so much want to go into natural labour. Its frustrating isnt it - i was explaining to DH last night that i am upset that my body wont do what 'everyone' elses can (wrong i know as loads of people have ELCS or EMCS but i feel like i am in minority). My DM doesnt help by saying that she wants me to have 'a little cut' and be safe - erm a ELCS is more than a little cut Hmm

Anyway i digress (sorry but my DM and DMIL should have a thread of their own!). Raisin why are they worried about stillbirth risk? Do you have Pre Eclampsia or Gestational Diabetes?

Welcome wings i have a 4yo too (DS) i felt awful today as DH and i were frantically trying to get lots of jobs done (nesting) and poor DS kept getting in the way - he was starting to play up a bit (for attention as we were ignoring him) then burst into floods of tears - he said he was only trying to help us out but we kept telling him that he couldnt help as he would get dirty/hurt himself/in the way etc - Sad bloody hell i felt dreadful so spent lots of time playing with his brio train track which cheered him up Hmm i-also made DH come down and apologise it is hard trying to keep him involved without going on about the baby too much Sad

Officially 38 weeks today. Still plenty of time but now ready to be un-pregnant

x post with torfhinn!! congratulations and welcome to the world mini-torfhinn Grin all sounds stressful but at least it is all over xxx

mojo similar story here - DS was 12 days overdue EMCS after 10 hours labour after failed induction - he was just too big and had his cord round his neck Sad which is why they wont induce me this time and just want to go for ELCS. These false labour contractions are a bugger arent they?

Ive had nothing since two hours of false contractions last night.

I'm feeling weepy and desperate for it to be over tonight. This is my third, you'd think it would be easier. But I'm still analysing every twinge.

Torfhinn congratulations!! Woohoo! Buffy my third too so I really do get it. I so desperately wanted to go into natural labour for once and not be induced, but if my body doesn't do it tonight or tomorrow during the day then Tuesday morning at 8am I am off to the hospital for my induction. Bloody terrified! (it's my 3rd induction so know what to expect, but worried this baby is massive!). Been analysing every twinge all day. Thought I might be contracting earlier on, but definitely false alarm.

Sammi and Martha - fingers crossed it will happen soon.

Torfhinn - congradulations!!!
Buffy I was the same last night, 2 hours of what I really believed to be the start, first time I had quite a bit of pain from the contractions but they disappeared!
I'm 39+5 now, getting constant msgs from family asking if anything is happening yet! I don't know myself most the time never mind have to keep them Informed on the subject.
Hugs to everyone, especially you ladies who have gone over due, i feel I may soon be joining the club.

Congratulations Torfhinn! Wow, 9lb!! crosses legs
wings my DH is exactly the same, helpfully suggests I have a day "off duty" only to look faintly bemused when I tell him that 2yo DS and 8yo DSD actually require someone to be "on duty" in my place. Hmm
Do you know how much butt kicking I've just had to do to get a coffee in bed?!
Busy week and weekend with family visiting so no chance to focus on aches and pains too much - except the pain in my pelvis! Does anyone else have that? Almost like you've been out for a really long bicycle ride and you're sore between your legs? Like bruised sore?
39 today

Congrats torfhinn!

Baba was causing me a lot of pain last night whatever way it was lying- was convincing myself it could be labour but no go!

Honey badger, just had the conversation with dh saying that it would be nice if he made me a coffee in the morning rather than me always making him one- I got 'but it's a slippery slope!' And only slightly in jest I fear! Well, am heading out to get my hair done this morning so he is on his own! May go for a wander round shops too for an extra hour ( if the legs hold up!)
