I know exactly what you mean, the things no-one ever tells you, and I now know why...because no-one can remember them!!! I'm sitting here thinking there's loads and I can't remember a single one...

jamiesam · 14/08/2006 22:43

vivid dreams
indigestion

tight achilles heel first thing in the morning (or is that just me?)
mood swings

Tommy · 14/08/2006 22:44

piles

DumbledoresGirl · 14/08/2006 22:45

My first baby was posterior and I had a terrible labour as a consequence (don't tell your SIL about this!) I was astonished at how common this is as in my pregnancy book it was barely given a mention. But I think I know why as you don't really like to worry a first time mother unduly.

shimmy21 · 14/08/2006 22:46

bleeding - not 'normal' but very very common and it doesn't mean you are automatically having a miscarriage

OMG jamiesam, I've had tight achilles heels with all 3 pgs and have never met anyone else who's had it. Even the mw looked a bit blank when I mentioned it. Thank god I'm normal (ish!)

Chronic indigestion and even more chronic fatigue. At least the indigestion goes overnight when you give birth...

lucykate · 14/08/2006 22:50

a friend of mine asked me what it was like giving birth when she was due her first. when i got to afterwards, and mentioned the swelling down below, walking like a cowboy etc after a normal delivery, she looked really shocked and asked, why does it swell?

after she'd had her baby a few weeks later, i spoke to her on the phone. first thing she said was 'oh my god, you weren't kidding about the swelling, its huge!'

other things - cramp, piles, babies bouncing on your bladder as they get bigger

olihan - we're not out of the woods yet, that's still only two of us!
How could I have missed out chronic fatigue?
And relieved to see that my rather coy 'vivid dreams' has been, err, clarified!

Tommy · 14/08/2006 22:55

DDG - my indigestion stayed around until DS2 was about 6 months

Tommy · 14/08/2006 22:55
