For pregnant berries at any stage. Scary thought but this is the one where some babies will appear!

Oh no! Maybe you need a pulley? Hope it didn't shatter the moment

Foodylicious · 23/03/2014 22:07

thunder I don't dislike the appts, or mind the bloods. Just a bit meh about it as I have seen someone different each time and always feel rushed, even at the longer appts.
Will be nice to have the dopple though Smile
also a bit Hmm about not being measure last time - she said they don't measure until 28 weeks, but NHS site says they do at 25 when it's your first.
It was a student ho hhad a quick feel of bump and dopple, she asked the MW if she needed to measure, and she said no, not till 28 weeks.

I am sure all is ok, but I really and quite big.

Tally to get out the bath I have to shuffle onto my front then get on my knees, theres not much room to do that though!

CharmingCats · 23/03/2014 22:09

Evening! Part time berry here....sorry!
Glad mini merk is doing ok and that you're home rather than being admitted. How much were you shouting then?!
SIL showed me the reusable nappies she uses today and will give me hers once her youngest outgrows them, which will be in time. She's also given me her mat clothes, which will mean I won't need to buy anything else unless it gets v hot, and even then, just one or two more bits.
Has anyone gone for over th bump knickers? Or are support belts better? I need bigger knicks, but not sure what to go for.
How are you feeling sid ? Been thinking of you.
Going back to stretch mark convo, I noticed a few red itchy ones a few weeks ago and started using Derma mum cream. It comes in a huge tub and lasts ages, and has completely cured the itching and dryness. And dare I say it, the red lines have gone. I don't say I won't get any more, but it's very comforting. I use bio oil at night as I can leave it to sink in longer.
Sleep well berries. Will keep reading. Charming kitten sends you all a nudge to clench.....

CharmingCats · 23/03/2014 22:11

bunny. To answer your earlier question, I never collected the other bounty pack as nowhere had any. Also decided after reading the bounty mutiny campaign on mn, that I don't want them to have my details.

Thunderpantsarego · 23/03/2014 22:48

foody not good that the appts haven't been great- hopefully it will be better tomorrow.

Hi charming . Nice one with the free stuff!

Tallyra · 24/03/2014 06:18

So much for sleeping late on my first official day of mat leave! Dh is on an early shift this week so I've been awake an hour already. I don't even feel tired. maybe its the relief of not having to go to work. Can't decide if I should get up or not. I think not is winning, mainly because the dog is happily snuggled and he'll wake up wanting a walk I can't give him if I move.

Thunderpantsarego · 24/03/2014 06:22

Stay still tally! I am in the same boat- DH's alarm went off at 4.30 as he's away for work today and I haven't been able to get back to sleep. Snoozing is your friend now- enjoy the first day of mat leave.

Boomgoestheweasel · 24/03/2014 06:32

Ditto! Woken at 5 by mr boom stubbing his toe as he tried to sneak around in the dark. Then had to get up at six to walk the totally ungrateful dog. Back in bed now but totally awake..

Boomgoestheweasel · 24/03/2014 06:38

Snoozing thunder? Am I meant to get snooze breaks??

tally hooray for mat leave!

Got told off by fellow midwife friend yesterday for not having packed hospital bag yet because I've not bought anything to go in it am I being slightly too laid back? It's not like I'm going to be having baybees at some point or anything..

Hi charming! Over the bump pants fill me with horror.. I've just used sainsbury's short-type plain black knickers in a bigger size all the way through and they're very comfy!

Thunderpantsarego · 24/03/2014 06:39

Time for tea and toast I think. Anyone want some?

Thunderpantsarego · 24/03/2014 06:41

Snooze breaks - yes boom! Sort those dogs out so they know how to lie in!

Hospital bag, mine was packed kind of but now I've raided all the snacks from it I need to sort it out again. And consider taking back the baby clothes and buying the next size up...?

Boomgoestheweasel · 24/03/2014 07:10

Ooh toast for me thunder, with far too much butter please!

I'm pathetic at organising things like this. I don't even have a bag to pack my hospital bag stuff IN.

BlearyeyedLol · 24/03/2014 07:21

Boom do you happen to have a changing bag you will be using when the babies come? I used that for baby stuff and just my own suitcase I carry with me on planes for my stuff. It has wheels so it was easier for me dh to lug it around!
Thunder I took two sizes of babygrows in case the baby was too big or to small. What size have you got in bag? I think I took newborn and a couple of tiny baby someone passed on to me. They turned out to be the best size!
What time is your app thund? Are you being offered a sweep? Will you have it?
Can you have this baby now please?? I'm tired of waiting GrinGrinGrin

Thunderpantsarego · 24/03/2014 07:31

I bought some newborn things lol which it says are up to 10lb. I'm not worrying about them being too big!!

App is at 3pm. My lovely mw said I would be offered a sweep but she's on holiday this week so I don't know who I'll see or what they'll say. If offered I will say yes but I have some doubts that it'll be possible as I don't know if baby is anywhere near engaging. Had another crampy night last night though so who knows! Sorry lol you are just going to have to be patient!

BlearyeyedLol · 24/03/2014 07:35

Oh ok then ...

Patience is not one of my virtues but I'll just have to try GrinGrin
I'm sure newborn will fit even if it looks a bit big! I only got them as someone gave them to me!!
Replace those snacks though. What will you be taking?

Thunderpantsarego · 24/03/2014 07:43

My nephew went straight into the next size up Shock so I have no illusions that it'll be a tiddler- added to the fact that me n DH are both giants

Snacks- it was all digestive biscuits, mini cheddars, snickers and squash. Not healthy eh? Did you eat during labour and if so what?

Boomgoestheweasel · 24/03/2014 07:49

Errr lol do you want the truth about the changing bag...?! Am now feeling bad about lack of mother-to-be skills Grin

thunder forgot it was your appt today! Hope they can manage the sweep for you. Think you should have the baby today, sun's shining so it's nice day for it!

Nothing exciting going on here. Waiting in for tumble drier delivery, got my last-ditch moxibustion attempt this afternoon and aquanatal tonight. Otherwise just tidying up and batch-cooking some chilli! and might order some stuff online to go in hospital bag. And also a hospital bag

BlearyeyedLol · 24/03/2014 07:59

Lol at booms lack of preparation!!!! You are the midwife amongst us so you're bound to set the example!
Thund I only ate after labour as I had an epidural as soon as I got to hospital and was told I couldn't eat!
Had cookies, those soft cereal and fruit bars, energy drinks and chocolate. Not healthy either Grin

Thunderpantsarego · 24/03/2014 08:07
Grin

Oo might get malt loaf too.

Tallyra · 24/03/2014 08:25

yay for being unprepared boom! I'm the same. I think I'll be doing that this week. I've been told I don't need to buy a bag, but I can't work out what to put it in, so I might just make one. or two.

mil seems to be in charge of baby stuff still - we went food shopping together yesterday and she wouldn't let me buy the terry nappy starter pack I wanted, she had to pay! I shouldn't complain really, we have hardly had to buy a single thing ourselves yet.

And I should really get out of bed now as she'll be here soon to walk the dog.

I think I'll spend this afternoon working out what I'm going to pack... was there a list a thread or so ago?

Tallyra · 24/03/2014 08:26

does a jar of chocolate spread and a spoon sound good? Grin

Boomgoestheweasel · 24/03/2014 08:31

Ha lol I think it's because I'm a midwife that I'm so disorganised...I know even if I rock up with nothing the babies can be wrapped in hospital blankets/towels, I can wear a hospital gown, they'll have lots of maternity pads and paper knickers, and Mr Boom can pop home or to the shop for stuff I need! Preparation is definitely too much effort Grin

Will admit I've just been through my collected baby items to see if I'm more organised than I thought.. I'm not. Only have 3 babygros. Lots of knitted cardies and shawls though!

Mm malt loaf! More reason for pesky babies to turn - I don't want to be nil by mouth!

CatsCantFlyFast · 24/03/2014 08:38

Hospital bag - we had no snacks as I had raided them all prior to labour. It didn't matter as I was vomming and wouldn't have wanted them. But afterwards I was starving and wish I had had them
Clothes size we are finding newborn or 0 to 1 month fine, everything else is too big (and it's not like she is small Grin) but I think its a lot to do with their shape too. Just put a couple of each size in the bag
I'm ready for your baby to arrive too now thunder Grin

OP posts:
Thunderpantsarego · 24/03/2014 08:43

You barely had time to eat anyway didn't you merk?!

I don't have a couple of each size of baby stuff. Like boom says though I'm sure we'll manage....!

I still don't think this one is imminent guys....

Boomgoestheweasel · 24/03/2014 09:07

tally aren't you full term this week?? I might pack a post-delivery jar of Nutella...full of, um, calcium..

thunder don't be so meeean, I'm sitting here twiddling my thumbs waiting for delivery of stupid white goods, I need you to go into labour to keep me occupied!
