Oh dear - right after I posted the above I went to the loo and saw the same small bits of flesh-coloured tissue in my urine (it seems to come out when I do a (sorry) number 2 - ie. when I'm straining a bit more - although it's definitely coming out with my wee, through my urinary tract, rather than out the other end).
I'm suddenly having a huge panic and feeling super negative and now convinced my boobs don't hurt any more and don't feel as full and etc etc.

Is it normal to hardly have any symptoms at 5 weeks? I just can't remember. I feel like I've gone from having super tender boobs to just the teeniest bit tender.

I guess I just need to call my doctor first thing tomorrow - damn I was feeling so positive right before. I hope I'm worrying over nothing. :(

sorry, I mean it's not coming out of my urinary tract but out of my (ahem) vagina. (can't believe i'm embarrassed writing that word - pathetic!). ANyway, sorry for triple post.

hi all! baby girl (name RNC) arrived last night about 10ish. After making it to 7cm without even gas and air, things got very hard and I ended up not progressing past that point... they gave me plenty of time but baby's heartbeat started dipping and after having a small bleed they took me in for a section. So feeling battered today but feel I gave the vbac my best shot. DD2(!) looks totally different to DD1 and is very lovely Smile

Thanks for all your thoughts yesterday and all of your support over this pregnancy... you're a fabulous bunch of ladies, you really are. Will keep you updated with our progress and be dropping by to cheer you all on too Thanks Thanks

mabel I would talk to your doctor. But sounds like the process of pushing out a poo is also pushing out some dislodged bits that occurred through the implantation process.

Most peoples symptoms (if they get them) kick in after 6 weeks so it's not unusual to not feel much at 5 weeks. Mine didn't really get going til 6.5 weeks this time.

Pixie hooray!!!!!!!! Grin Grin Grin huge congratulations to you and RNC, hope you're both doing well and enjoying lots of snuggles, sorry to hear things didn't go to plan though but brilliant news that she's out in the world now! Smile Flowers

Mabel I'm no doctor but I was thinking that it could be a UTI, do you have any UTI-ish symptoms? Is it worth seeing your doctor for them to test your wee, so that you can rule it out? I remember our midwife saying that UTI's can cause bleeding, little bits of cervical tissue loss and all other sorts of worrying, but usually harmless things. Also, and again I'm no expert, but if it comes out when you're straining, it sounds like something to be less worried about than if it was just coming out all the time, if that makes sense.
I had no symptoms at 5 weeks pregnant at all (didn't even suspect I was pregnant, and I'm usually really hot at symptom spotting!) in fact didn't have any until hyperemesis kicked in at 7/8 weeks, and even then the hyperemesis was the only symptom I had until the second trimester.
With the pregnancies I lost I didn't get any reduction in symptoms, but with this one they vary on a daily basis (since the hyperemesis seems to have gone, touch wood!) I seem to go through phases of symptoms, sore boobs for a few days, then sore back but boobs fine, then heartburt but back and boobs fine etc etc.
In this pregnancy I've had bleeds, tissue loss, clots coming out, agonising cramping pains, more blood loss...the list goes on and I've lostcount of the times that I genuinely thought we were losing our little bean, but (touch wood) everything was ok, so just because something seems worrying doesn't mean it's bad news, everything is far, far more likely to be absolutely fine than not.
As you say, give your doctor a ring for peace of mind, they may be able to do an earlier scan. Hold on to the positivity, today you are pregnant. x.

Hmmm, I'm now at DEFCON 4 for reduced movements. The bean is moving, but hasn't moved as much or as violently enthusiastically as normal for this time of day. I confess to having a spreadsheet to track his movements during two hour periods throughout the day and have been monitoring since he developed patterns at about 22 weeks Blush.
I suspect he's just having a lazy day but the paranoia is starting to creep in, so I'm going try the usual tricks to try to get him moving. I've already been in to the MAU three times for reduced movements this pregnancy, and each time he's just been being lazy, but it worries me and I feel like I should never let my guard down. Sad

StarsInTheNightSky · 10/03/2014 07:46

I should add, I do have an anterior low lying placenta (partial placenta previa as of a couple of weeks ago, and placenta creeping down and over cervix since 20 week scan, but it's never stopped me feeling the movements, only muffled them a bit, and even then I can still tell the force he's kicking with, if that makes sense. Hmmm.

mabel as far as I'm aware symptoms don't kick in until another couple of weeks so please try not to worry. They are different for everyone too. With both of my DC I had 24 hour MS with this one it lasted a total of three weeks and I'm now 38 + so try to hold onto that xxx

pixie a big fat yayyyyyyyyy to you both! Hope your enjoying lots of cuddles with her today..... I'm turning green

stars could he be moving more in the evening? How far gone are you? My bean does nothing all day until I panic then come the evening it's like a scene from 'Alien' ;) she's much more active at night - get the feeling I'll have little to no sleep - you know your body and baby best so if you have to pitch up a tent at the MAU huni then go for it xx

Mabel I had spotting related to passing stools (but out of the vagina). Was OK with me. FX same with you. Get a swab for infection though (if it is, some tablets/pessaries should clear it, they have pregnancy-suitable ones). Stars pretty much said what I was going to about symptoms - although some people claim to have a bump 10 minutes after dtd, most of us only start feeling pregnant about 6 weeks - and boy do they vary day to day!

Stars It's always best to check: just to put your mind at rest. Do go in if you're worried it'll be the only thing to give peace of mind.

Pixie Whoop! :) :) Sounds like you had a time of it - take it easy and enjoy your time with new bubs!

Last night I was SO windy (it was audible across the room and I could feel the gas bubbling) I became worried I'd bruise my uterus!! Shock Nonsense of course. What with all the farting my belly isn't as pooched out as this time yesterday. Illogically cross about this even though clearly it was just wind not bean!!
I also manage to convince myself my uterus is regressing back into my pelvis and I can't feel it. I am in no pain and symptoms are as normal. Blush

fod thanks, I'm 28+1, and weirdly he is always most active between 4am - 10am (contrary to normal baby movement patterns I'm told). I've been awake and reading since 3:30am (couldn't sleep) and his movements are about 80 - 90% less than normal. I did have quite a busy day yesterday, and sometimes that makes him a bit quieter the next day. Still, I'm giving it until 9am and ifhe hasn't livened up by them I'm going into the MAU. They are brilliant at our hospital and never make me feel like I'm a nuisance. Made me laugh about the alien-esque movements Smile

squiz thanks and you're right, I'm giving it until 9am for the caffeine, food etc to kick in, and if no increase of activity I'm going in, I'm too frightened to risk anything. Sad Sorry to hear about the gales! Grin I know what you mean though, I used to get very miffed at any bump shrinkage even when it was just bloat, it's extremely annoying. I went through a stage where I thought my uterus was shrinking too, the bloat went down, and it was a week or so before the bump came up, typically it happened two weeks before our twelve week scan (which was actually at 14.5 weeks Hmm) and it terrified me! All was well though, just another worrying thing.

Pixie Congratulations! And welcome to the little lady Thanks Well done you, that sounds like hard work. Hope you recover quickly and get to go home soon. Let us know how you are getting on x

Stars Have you tried taking a bath? When I was pg with DS, having a bath would always get him going big time. Fingers crossed your bean really is only having a lazy day, but it must be so worrying!

squiz Pregnancvy is so glamorous, isn't it! I get that on some days as well, it's as if a tornado is ripping through my intestines The progesterone pessaries don't help with that either... And I'm so bloated sometimes, too.

10+1 today... And going to London for the scan and Harmony test tomorrow afternoon. Trying not to freak out - need to think about what I can do in London, I'll be going down at lunchtime, but the appointment isn't until 4.30pm...

JBrd I'm now about to try a bath as a last resort thanks, sometimes it gets him moving so hopefully it will this time Sad. If nothing after a bath I'm definitely going in. Thank you.
Scan tomorrow is good Smile, albeit terrifying in the run up. Which part of London is it in? Perhaps we could suggest some things to do during the wait, I always find waiting a real killer and usually dissolve into a sobbing mess.

Stars keeping Fx for you that everything is ok, I often panic about movement (although he always starts moving again just as I get really worried) but I was always told that they'd rather you come in for assessment! Hope everything goes ok at the hospital xx

We need some updated stats! Does anyone have access to the last list? I'm sure there are some other babies due around now - hope everyone is doing ok!

silverine Welcome! And sorry for not greeting you earlier, I struggle to keep up with this thread sometimes, especially at weekends, when we're out and about doing stuff (it's easier at work Grin).
The first few weeks drag soooo much, I completely agree. I was a complete wreck by the time I got my first scan at 8 weeks. Do ask your mw or GP about getting an early scan, it really helps.

I agree with kjh5 about updating the stats list - so many newbies in the last few weeks, and quite a few graduates. Who is next in line now for dropping the sprog?

Mabel How is it going, any more clots? Hope I will all settle down again soon, it is so nerve-wrecking when something like this happens!

Stars Having everything crossed for you that you'll get good results at the MAU.
My appointment is at the Fetal Medicine Centre, in Harley Street, but I will be arriving at Kings Cross. PM me if you fancy meeting up, that would be lovely!

Good luck for scan jbrd and stars.

Have my booking in appointment with MW rescheduled for today so going to see how that goes with all my issues she is probably going to think I am a nutter and ultra negative & pessimistic Smile

Welcome Silverine, you'll find lots of support here. I've not had any treatments so can't help with your query I'm afraid. Please don't worry about the wine. The first few weeks seem to take aaaages to pass but try to break them down and keep busy, make other plans to look forward to and help the time pass.

Awww yey Pixie!! So pleased for you. And brilliant getting to 7cm -with NO pain relief. Hats off to you lady! Hope you are having lots of cuddles.

Hope you get some answers soon Mabel and Stars
