Hope pixie is getting on ok!

Also realised I never welcomed all the newbies! It's lovely to have you all - the first trimester is without a doubt the hardest emotionally but today you are all pregnant! Which is something to hold on to :)

There is something about this gorgeous weather that makes everything seem more manageable isn't there? I'm feeling supremely relaxed and suddenly fairly optimistic about everything despite the fact that I'm not sleeping at all and every time I try and actually walk for more than 5min at a time I'm forced to admit that the pelvic girdle pain is really rather bad! Suffering quite badly from period-type pain and BH. At 34 weeks I'm fairly confident the bubba isn't about to arrive which is a good thing considering DH is away ATM but I can't help but wonder if my mum is right and this baby might turn up early (even although I'm convinced he's going to be overdue!)

I totally understand where your coming from cbeebies we feel exactly the same - really worried about the labour too - just hope and pray that everything's ok - that's all we can do

Thinking of you Pixie hope it's going well x

kjh I definitely agree about the weather, I did some gardening today and I felt downright cheery. Sorry to hear about the PGP, BH, and other pains though.

Alb thank you! I've just googled it and your pram looks gorgeous! I don't blame you at all for grabbing it at a bargain Grin. Our two cats have actually been really good so far about not jumping in the moses basket or cot, which really surprised me!

JBrd glad to hear you're feeling a bit better today Smile there is something about the sun and warmth that helps isn't there.

Just wondering, but how many blankets do you need? We've got about seven (three cellular, three fleece and one jersey) but I'm now worried that it won't be enough have seen some with elephants on that I want to justify buying and I'm also worried that I was a bit stupid buying fleece blankets when our due date is 1st June Blush. In my defence they were a bargain and only 1.99 each Grin.

Argh fecking prune juice!

I'm not the best with unknown gurglings and knots in the lower belly, even amongst us posafrickentivity crew. Tried a new brand today. Had the usual size glass- it seemed thicker and richer.
An hour later... In the words of the advert BANG AND THE DIRT IS GONE! But now I'm in gurgling fart hell. Grin Husband is out for beer and curry tomorrow night, perhaps this is just karmic balance.

squiz oh no!!!! Grin Sending sympathies but also curious as to which brand as am thinking I might need some post c-section Grin. Your post reminded me of the time I accidentaly overdosed on medical grade laxitives, I was paraplegic (thankfully I have since learnt to walk again, although it took a long, long time) following an accident, on a very high does of morphine and horrendously constipated. I took several sachets, waited for a few minutes and they hadn't worked, so ended up taking eight in quick succession (you were only supposed to take four max per day) I was a bit away with the fairies so didn't realise I hadn't given it enough time. About half an hour later and I was terrified of the urban myth of losing your colon down the toilet!!! Grin DH only just carried me to the toilet in time Grin

Stars wah! 8 sachets... blimy!! Your insides must have been shiny clean after that! It's sunsip brand, the most expensive and covered in claims to have the most effect on 'digestive health'. You can say that again... but I'll be back on supermarket own brand next week. Cheaper per bottle and in toilet paper.

I also rate lactulose for poo help! I had it after ds as had a pretty bad tear in my bottom so was so scared of doing a no 2. Helped lots and think I took it for months afterwards!!

7 for a June baby is more than enough!! I used 3 for October and February babies and that was enough, but your washing machine will never be off, so get the elephants one!! Wink
Muslins are amazing. Take the number you think you might need and triple it! Seriously they can be used for everything from feeding, mopping up sick/snot to drying bums and using as a protective mat on public changing tables.

Stars nappies are easy to buy and something your dp is unlikely to get wrong. I normally go for 1 packet of size 1's and send dh out for more when were nearing the end with specific instructions and possibly the packaging! with dd1 we stayed in size 1 for a couple of weeks, with dd2 she went straight into size 2's and dh had to get them for me before we'd even left the hospital.

Hi all

Just had a positive pregnancy test yesterday after 2 previous miscarriages. But I had 2 negative test before that I was miserable, drank some wine, stressed, did strenuous housework... So a bit freaked out now, but home all that won't have mattered.

Booked a nurse appointment on Wednesday to get the system in motion, hope it won't take long to get a MW appt in place. Will definitely tell work early though, to help minimise any stress, maybe work from home one day a week... They know about the MCs so hope will be sympathetic.

Cbeebies brilliant, thanks very much, I'll stick with the two packets of size 1's for now then, buy one packet of size 2's just in case and DH can nominated nappy-buyer for the rest.

silverine hi, congratulations and welcome! Please try not to worry to much, lots of us have done things which aren't recommended before realising we're pregnant. I was on a very boozy holiday for the first month of being pregnant where I did everything you shouldn't (except drugs and smoking) including lots of scuba diving to 40 metres below, and thankfully everything is fine, although I was terrified when we did find out - stupid false negative tests, grrr! I'm sure everything will be fine for you too, but if you're worried could you ask your midwife for an early scan? I know not everywhere will agree to them, but it's worth asking. It sounds like your work will be supportive too, which is great news. Smile

stars Thanks!

Last time, because of the first miscarriage, they gave me a test at 8 weeks (that's when I found out), so they should again. So I guess that would be my first milestone. 8 weeks is a long time to wait though...

Anyone had any treatments after MC? I had test done abroad and although they didn't find anything major, they said low-dose aspirin and progesteron may help. The consultant here said he would not object to aspirin, but the progesteron study is not finished yet, so he would not prescribe it.

Anyone found progesteron help?

silverine you're welcome, the first trimester always seems to drag wickedly, I had a countdown app on my phone with all my milestones, and set myself little ones, like x days until midwife appointment, that really seemed to help me and break up the weeks a bit. Still, try to remember to tak it a day at a time, today you are pregnant. That helped me too.
I haven't had any treatments so don't have any info on that I'm afraid, but I know some of the other ladies on here are on/have been on various treatments, so they might be able to help more.

silverine, welcome and congratulations!
I'm in the early days too. Just 5.2 weeks pregnant. Also had two MCs last year so having odd bouts of paranoia and find toilet trips terrifying.

And like another poster said, the time just seems to drag right now - I guess because we're all so desperate to reach the 3 month milestone. Furiously thinking of ways to keep busy to try to help the time go quicker.

Like stars recommended, try and get an early scan. I'm having one at 7 weeks, more for peace of mind than anything. I know I'll be bricking it beforehand though.

Hey everyone else and good luck pixie.
