Fantastic news Squiz you must be delighted Smile

JBrd · 04/04/2014 12:58

Great news Squiz! And breathe...

They made you wait for 2 hours?!

bakingtins · 04/04/2014 13:09

Great news from fedup and squiz Smile

I should woburn work today but have succumbed to some 'orrible lurgi that DS2 has kindly brought home from nursery. I am supposed to be working all w/end and DH is taking the boys camping. He's now saying they won't go but I don't want to spoil their trip when they are excited about it. Hoping a day in bed will sort me out. Baby is fine, booting seven bells out of me. I think I'm just run down, have been effectively a single parent since DH started new job in Feb as he's been away a lot and I'm knackered.

fedupofrainydays · 04/04/2014 13:18

Ha ha sebs little do you know I lurk and see how you are getting on and hope very much you will join us here soon. Thank you, lovely lady xxxx

fedupofrainydays · 04/04/2014 13:35

Ah great news for you to squiz I bet that 2 hour wait was hideous!!

jbrd I had people annouce their pregnancies and then look over at me with patronising 'poor fed up' it was horrid. But yes. It's much nicer for a heads up before meeting people I think. It's particularly tough I think when it's a mums group you met through dc1. I found that everyone in my NCT was pregnant or had no 2 while I was just miscarrying, twice. Was really really hard. So I think it was sweet of you to keep schtum for now. And hello to my new due date buddy! I'm pretty sure he / she won't come that early as a week before my EDD based on lmp. I still think 14th is the right date for me!

Yes please london my stats are:
Fedupofrainydays, 1ds, 2mc, EDD 10 Oct.

fod I hope we have a news of baby fod soon - perhaps it will be a photo finish against the grand national winner!!

Hope everyone else is okay. Even if a bit fed up of being pregnant. I do know what you mean. I hate being pregnant too but love the outcome so it's totally worth it :)

fedupofrainydays · 04/04/2014 13:38

I mean the outcome if it's that one with take home healthy baby... And yes that makes me nervous too. If get that far and then don't get that happy outcome after all.

wigwam33 · 04/04/2014 17:34

fedup wonderful news! SO SO pleased for you. It's amazing to see a little one squiggling around isn't it? I still can't quite believe it myself.

squizita congrats too - that's great news. You must be relieved.

Just an idle question- we decided not to go for nuchal test etc.. so I've no idea what my risk factors are. (Except I think generally it's 1 in 350 for Down's because of my age.) This decision seems to be more unusual as most people do have it. I just wondered, did anyone else on the thread make this decision?

LondonJen · 04/04/2014 19:11

Bless you Jbrd I would want any little one's on there too!

Wigwam no, sorry, we decided to have it just because we wanted to know as much as we could.

butterfly86 · 04/04/2014 22:43

Can I join you ladies please, I've not read through the thread but baking suggested I joined as I'm too scared to post on any of the "normal" pregnancy threads. Im 27 weeks tomorrow following 4 miscarriages, I'm still terrified but am feeling slightly better as each day goes by I wont feel truly safe until I have my baby in my arms though.
It will be nice to have somewhere to chat to people who know how it feels!

SaggyAndLucy · 04/04/2014 22:59

Wigwam I wouldn't have had the test if dp hadn't been. There and insisted. ironically enough, as the sonographer spotted anomalies, she'd have had to tell me what she'd seen by law! so ultimately it'd have made no difference what choice we made!

fedupofrainydays · 05/04/2014 06:51

Welcome butterfly. We sure do get it and talk about our fears a lot of here - particularly those that seem ridiculous to people in RL who have blissful ignorance of mc and being pg after mc.

Thanks so much for your posts ladies. News travels fast - husband gone away with 4 friends and have had texts off all the wives (who aren't there!). On the one hand I'm a bit annoyed but the other - really touched how happy for us these people are after what we have been through. Genuinely lovely messages. Although - I'm still shit scared of what could happen despite reaching the 'magic' 12 wks.

wiggy I want to know so can prepare myself if high likelihood of some problems. I don't know what I would do if I came out high risk in terms of further tests etc but I like to know and be prepared. Weirdly, the only thing in life I don't like to know beforehand is the sex of my baby! If we get that far I won't be finding out. Didn't with DS and loved the suprise.

kjh5 · 05/04/2014 10:02

Welcome Butterfly - wow 27 weeks gone, you really are almost there :) I found things really sped up as soon as I hit the third trimester and your confidence increases every day too. Fx for a smooth ride for you.

Yay on the scan news Fedup Grin I hope you enjoy every minute of sharing your happy news with people, it is so lovely of you to be considerate about other people's feelings but its also nice to realise how many people are thrilled for you too, enjoy every heartfelt congratulations!

I had such a fabulous day yesterday being pampered, meeting up with friends and ending with a small glass of Wine and a bath and I was so supremely relaxed by the time I went to bed that I felt sure that the contractions that hit me at 4.30am were the real deal... and then they disappeared an hour later and have yet to make a reappearance... sigh! I'm trying very hard to remind myself that I am not actually due for another two weeks so I need to prepare myself for days of this and the real possibility of going overdue but today is our first wedding anniversary and I'm kind of hoping the sprog decides to ruin our dinner plans Grin

How are you getting on tea and fod? I suspect you are both getting tired of people asking? We haven't told anyone in RL that I'm having twinges etc but my mother has been on the phone EVERY day since Weds to find out how I am - as if she knows - and even that is driving me insane.

fod27 · 05/04/2014 10:47

I'm uber miffed today ladies! A girl that was due after me has had hers last night!.... Grrrrr not fair! Feet stomping etc etc xxx

JBrd · 05/04/2014 12:10

fod Oh, yes, the irrational birth envy.... I had that with DS, it was ridiculous. Everyone in our NCT group had their baby on/around their due date or even earlier, and I went 2 weeks overdue! And one lady had the cheek to even 'steal' my due date Grin Cue lots of feet stomping and crying... But it will come, don't worry! Try to do some really nice things for yourself to cheer you up.

Welcome butterfly, yes, we all understand the fears because we all have them! No one gets spared, unfortunately, you are in good company.

wigwam Personally, I couldn't have done it, but that is just me, and I don't see anything wrong with not wanting to test - it is a very personal decision! But if you are happy with it, then you do what you want to do.

Sounds like a lovely day kjh5, I'm jealous! Here's hoping that it will continue like this until the little one arrives.

It's a lovely day here, we've just been to the garden centre to get some seeds etc, now about to go swimming with DS, before I get my hair done (bliss). I had a very busy week, and with all the worry on top of it, I suddenly crashed last night - fell asleep on the sofa, then went to bed at 10pm. And even got a lie in until 7.30am!

fod27 · 05/04/2014 12:36

Thanks JBrd it's nice to know I'm not completely insane in feeling like this lol, just had the 'oh nooo I need to have a bath, get my hair and make up done - just in case - realisation' I've been doing this daily since I passed my EDD. It's not made a scrap of difference lol

Sounds like you have a fab weekend planned

LondonJen · 05/04/2014 12:52

Hello Butterfly yes do join us, congrats on your pregnancy and 27 weeks through already is great to hear Smile There are a lots of people here who share your fears. I am 13+3 and only had my scan last week so just getting used to the idea this really is actually happening (after prev mmc)! My mum said I will feel better once I can feel baby moving but I just thought eek a whole new world of worry!

Fedup that's really nice that you've had such heartfelt messages.

Kjh that sounds so nice. Apart from the daily phone call! Bless your mum. They mean well don't they?

Sorry Fod! Still got fx for some action soon!

Well I told my brother he's getting a niece or nephew and he told my nephew (age 4) he was getting a cousin. I just heard this little voice say "then where is he?" lol.

LondonJen · 05/04/2014 12:55

Jbrd your day sounds lovely too, nice to hear you're having some relaxation Smile

fod27 · 05/04/2014 13:04

Awwww london that's sooo cute! Although you've opened up a can of worms there lol, let's hope he doesn't ask for a diagram ;) xxx

ArkadyRose · 05/04/2014 14:12

I spoke too soon I guess; I'm out again. Lost it at 5 weeks. I think it's time to call it quits for me. All the best to everyone else.

fod27 · 05/04/2014 14:18

Ohhh noooo ark I'm so so sorry, hope your ok and that you have lots of support in RL. Sending you hugs xxxp

bakingtins · 05/04/2014 14:39

Arkady I am so sorry, it's beyond shitty to go through it again and again. Lots od support on the RMC thread on MC board, whether or not you decide you're at the end of the road. Thinking of you. Sad

BobaFetaCheese · 05/04/2014 15:12

Oh Ark, so sorry. What an absolute shit time of it Hope the next few days are as physically painfree as possible, so so sorry it's happened again. xx

Fingers crossed you pop before it gets really warm
