Squiz, its not somethng you can control, its not harmful to the baby, the shock isnt great enough! Dh and I have a literal electric connection! I have no idea why but 50% of the time when we kiss or hold hands there is an electric shock! My baby is still doing well at 32+2 so really I wouldnt stress too much (and yes, you are nuts, but here we all understand Wink)

fod27 · 17/03/2014 17:20

Couldn't see the embryo or sack x

fedupofrainydays · 17/03/2014 17:25

fod 31 is very low hcg if it was that and not progesterone. And definately not high enough to be 9 or 10 weeks.
Preg tests pick up 10 - 25 hcg then it's supposed to double every couple of days so should be in the thousands. :(

Alb1 · 17/03/2014 17:32

Id really have thought they'd have seen somethin at 9 weeks, my 9 week scan showed it wriggling around with arm n leg buds, but everyone is different n maybe she has her dates wrong? Il be keeping my fx for her, such a stressful time for anyone, hopefully shel get some answers on Wednesday :-/

squizita · 17/03/2014 19:03

Fod as Fedup said, if it's HCG it's very low. Combined with no sac it looks like bad luck sadly. :(

Just told a mate (2 DCs) and her 1st thing to say was 'oh you should have movement by now, I did with mine.' Shock I'm 14 weeks. Am I batshit crazy or is that very early for 'should' feel movement? I had just told her I worry, too.

In better news, letter came through re nuchal testing. I'm very low risk for everything, under 1/10000. :)

OP posts:
CbeebiesIsMyLife · 17/03/2014 19:07

That's rubbish, 'should' comes after 20 weeks not at 14.
With my first I didn't feel movements till 21 weeks with my 2nd and now this one I felt them much earlier, but not everyone does. Don't worry about your silly friend and even if you were to feel them now it would be flutters and pops not kicks and definite movements anyway.

Alb1 · 17/03/2014 19:08

squiz I havnt felt any movement yet either, asked the midwife this morning n she said it'd be unusual to feel it now n itl be closer to 20 weeks, an I'm a few weeks ahead of u I think so I think it's normal u havnt felt anythin! although people keep saying the same to me so I'm going crazy over it

squizita · 17/03/2014 19:14

Yeah I thought it was odd. She described full 'flips' making her jump - I thought it would be little tickly feelings if anything. Maybe she recalled the week it happened wrongly.

TeaAndANatter · 17/03/2014 19:40

Hi fod, if the number is the HCG, then I'm afraid it's absolutely nowhere near viable, but the number might be something else?

fedupofrainydays · 17/03/2014 20:15

I felt movement last time around 18 weeks - def not 14!!! More likely to be wind at 14 weeks!!

squizita · 17/03/2014 20:36

Thanks everyone. She is one of those 'perfect' women, really nice in many ways and had her fair share of heartache but always has to remind everyone of these little 'wins' (and often unaware they can upset, or if they sound frankly exaggerated).

Re. my earlier 'grapes of wrath' overshare, I found this zombie post and do feel that it warrants a brief read of the original post. Laughed nearly as much as at 'penis beaker' gate.

TeaAndANatter · 17/03/2014 20:41

Oh, you may want a link with that Blush

Squiz I don't know of any risk but re being nuts I had the same worry when standing in the post office queue whilst their alarm was going crazy. I know bean can't hear yet but it was making me wince as surely it could feel it! Ace low risk news that is brilliant to hear. I was on preg calendar earlier (bbc one) which said 1st time mums MIGHT feel baby move FROM 16 weeks onwards. I did wonder why it told me that on the page I was on as not looking at the 16 week page yet!

Bless you Tea I feel for you. Hope you can resolve but don't know much about piles (yet!) to offer suggestions.

Sorry I don't know the answer Fod but fx for your friend.

Ah, the Penis beaker post. That was the first thing to make me laugh after my mc and it was much appreciated Smile

fedupofrainydays · 17/03/2014 21:28

Me too re penis beaker. I was having a really bad day and read that - I cried with laughter. Still makes me chuckle now!!

Anyone know what point you are supposed to be able to feel the uterus? I'm worrying I can't yet and I'm 10 wks.

mabel it must be so tough out in the states without knowing who can help you when etc. I hope you get sorted tomorrow and it's good they think it might be uti and not probs with the pregnancy. Fx for you.

tea I had one pile from pushing ds out. It doesn't bother me too much unless I've not gone to the loo for a while and then it's agony and bleeds. Which when upduffed is not what you want as start worrying what hole the blood is coming from!!! I know I've got just the one as I've actually had a scan of my bum hole!! Yes indeed - willycam style thing shoved up my arse!! That was not at all pleasent.
Anyway for all things bottom related I rate lactulose to make going easier if that helps you in anyway..

I found this post on FB today really annoying: "I've got my 20 week scan on Thursday, hoping to find out if pink or blue". . I think I find it annoying because I'm actually a bit jealous how chilled these people are and their biggest worry is just the sex?! I wish I was like that.. But no, plagued with paranoia.

squizita · 17/03/2014 21:32

Fedup I read 12-13 weeks but don't trust me, I can't find my own with any reliability! MW and DH can (DH described it perfectly without knowing what he was supposed to feel for).

OP posts:
CbeebiesIsMyLife · 17/03/2014 21:43

fedup, I'm on baby number 3 and I have never been able to feel my uterus! All I can feel now is baby and no uterus. Confused

LondonJen · 17/03/2014 21:47

Fedup I have read might be able to about 10 weeks but I can't feel anything. Having said that I am not really trying as too scared to push down hard! That low down is definately not involved in my mega bloat which is now more ridiculously massive than ever.

LondonJen · 17/03/2014 21:49

ps know how you feel, crying at OBEM now as some of us do go through so much

fedupofrainydays · 17/03/2014 21:52

Phew. Thanks ladies!! I suppose it's better to feel baby that uterus cbeebies!

jen I have massive bloat too. It's crazy. But mine mainly goes when lie down. But standing up I look pregnant. It's just bloat not bump tho for me.

fod27 · 17/03/2014 21:55

Thanks so much ladies

Can I just add that despite this being my third I didn't feel anything definite until 22 weeks and all my kids are elephants - think your mates spinning you a yarn xxx

squizita · 17/03/2014 21:56

Now massively on edge. Have CM which is slightly darker yellow and getting myself wound up it's because it has traces of blood. This is objectively bollocks. Hmm Funny how a careless comment you know is wrong can shake you up.

OP posts:
LondonJen · 17/03/2014 22:14

Nooo Squiz sounds normal to me Smile

I just realised I haven't needed an evening snack to keep the hungersick feeling at bay. Am awake (just) at 10pm and last ate 5 hours ago. Miraculous! not worrying, not worrying, not worrying

Penguinita · 17/03/2014 22:15

Funny thread, thanks tea! Please don't be tempted to self medicate!

mabel thinking of you, it must be such an anxious time.

I don't think I've ever felt the top of my uterus either, although the midwife seems to be able to find it. I felt some squirmy feelings at 13 weeks but I wasn't sure if it was baby movement, and it was only at 20 weeks that it was obvious. I think it depends a lot on where the placenta is too.

I just tried to recreate that advert where the woman puts a Malteser on her pregnant belly and the baby kicks it off. Pingu would only play once, after that I just ended up with a lot of melted chocolate on me. I've had worse evenings Grin
