Ps. bugs I already look a bit fat! I show early as have a short body but i just feel puffy at the moment too!

fedupofrainydays · 16/03/2014 09:08

I mean baking not bugs!!

NerdyBird · 16/03/2014 09:27

I think my baby has stopped moving. Movements were less last night but had been quite active in the day. Normally I feel things start just before 9am but they haven't this morning. Just necked a glass of cold juice to see if that helps but I can't help feeling it's all over.

squizita · 16/03/2014 09:53

Polka I am thinking of doing it the same way as you. I have spoken to people who have troubles (that I know of) in advance. I'm also going to phrase it - when I do - in a sensitive way e.g. something like "As you may know I had some health issues over the last 2 years and lost several pregnancies, thanks to luck and the NHS I am now expecting again and so far everything's OK" and so scan photos or smug nonsense. I post regularly about the MC society etc' then stopped going to the pub Friday night since Jan so they'd have to be idiots not to work out my history anyway!

Nerdy go to A&E for lessened movement. They can/will check!

CbeebiesIsMyLife · 16/03/2014 10:12

Nerdy how far along are you? You don't need to go to a&e just ring up your maternity unit, they will check you over xx

NerdyBird · 16/03/2014 10:15

I'm 22+2 today. Had some movement after juice and cereal but only a little. Not too happy with that so need to go and rouse DP then ring hospital.

fedupofrainydays · 16/03/2014 10:45

nerdy I hope you are ok. Get down to hospital when you can. Perhaps the baby is just having a lie in this morning. You had some movement which is a good sign. Thinking of you xx

Yeah squiz if I said anything it would be along those lines - it's just the smug / ignorant ones that do my nut!

I'm feeling really faint today so back home and lying on the sofa. Hope just part of being pregnant and not anything to worry about.

polkadotdelight · 16/03/2014 10:52

Nerdy please go to a&e. I hope all is ok with you.

polka I didnt post a scan picture or say I felt blessed, more if a humerous post but most people close to me know I miscarried and know of my gynae history with regards to a tumour.

I do understand and respect what others are saying but its a very personal decision and I needed to have some happy yays.

fedupofrainydays · 16/03/2014 10:58

Don't get me wrong - I'm just saying its the smug comments / scan photos that really upset me when mc or ttc - sorry if it came out like I was passing comment on what you said or assuming you were smug about it as I really wasn't - sorry! I know none of us on here would ever be like that because of what we have been through.

CbeebiesIsMyLife · 16/03/2014 12:16

Polka a&e can't actually do much, in fact in my area a&e won't see a pregnant woman over 22 weeks with regards to her pregnancy. The best place to go is the maternity unit you are planning on giving birth at, they will also see you, have midwives on hand and be able to offer reassurance.
Also A&e (long story about how I ended up there!) missed my anaemia a few weeks ago despite having all the classic symptoms because it was 'within normal ranges' however for a pregnant woman it was in the 'seriously low' category, it wasn't till they transferred me to the maternity hospital it was picked up. A&e nurses and drs just aren't trained or equipped to deal with pregnant women.

squizita · 16/03/2014 12:25

Cbeebies good point. I had a wasted trip to A&E and that was St Mary's (ie fertility, miscarriage and pregnancy central!!). A&E doc said exactly what I could have got off NHS direct after a looong wait.

Nerdy have you got the midwife's out of hours phone line?

OP posts:
polkadotdelight · 16/03/2014 13:22

That is a very good point, I posted quickly and didn't think. The maternity unit or your midwife should be the port of call.

fedup don't worry, I'm in the midst of feeling guilty because the day I posted on FB was the day of a funeral some of my friends were going to. I didn't find out until the following day but I felt really heartless.

fedupofrainydays · 16/03/2014 13:48

You weren't to know polka but I had a similar thing this week when had to pull up someone in my team at work who wasn't performing. She then told me that one of her friends took their own life a few days ago. I wasn't to know but felt terrible.

Am feeling pretty awful. I'm really dizzy and can't stand up without feeling like I might fall over. Feel sick too. Anyone else had this? Trying to drink but water makes me feel sick. Can stomach fizzy water but that's it.

How are you getting on nerdy? I hope you have been seen in hospital maternity assessment unit - downstairs but of St. Peter's abbey wing (of I'm right in thinking you are St. Peter's)

NerdyBird · 16/03/2014 14:27

Hi all
We have been to the hospital and are back home. I rang maternity triage and they said I could come and they would listen for the heartbeat which is all they can do at this stage. So we went and the nice MW found the heart beat and listened for a while and said it all sounded ok. It was very quiet so we were in and out in about 15 mins. I have felt some more movement now which is helping.
Maybe baby has just moved into a position where I can't feel as much?
It's mainly been low down near the front so far, but I guess there is still a lot of space there.

Thanks for all the support, was really panicking this morning!

CbeebiesIsMyLife · 16/03/2014 15:03

Fed up how far are you? Are you taking pregnacare or similar? Could it be your iron levels? Phone your midwife and ask for them to be checked out

CbeebiesIsMyLife · 16/03/2014 15:04

Glad to hear all is fine nerdy :)

squizita · 16/03/2014 15:07

Phew Nerdy God Bless the NHS!! I bet hearing the HB was a relief.

Polka there will always be someone who has had sad news out there. I must admit this is why I'm just going to bite the bullet tell people... you cannot ever rule out it being an upsetting time. There's no perfect moment. E.g. I used to think 'why me' post MC at baby posts... but of course someone who's lost a relative would think the same at mother's day, wedding photos etc'. :(

OP posts:
bakingtins · 16/03/2014 15:11

Glad it's all ok nerdy always best to err on the side of caution.

fedup I had dizzy spells and fainting in first trimester, combination of low blood pressure and low blood sugar. Can someone get you whatever you can stomach to eat?

My DH and boys have gone off cycling, leaving me to stagger round a dog walk. Baby seems to be sitting on my sciatic nerve so I have shooting pains down one leg and can only waddle. it doesn't bode well with 11 weeks still to go.....

fedupofrainydays · 16/03/2014 15:26

Phew nerdy I'm so glad all is ok.

I'm only 9 weeks cbeebies. I take sanatgen mother to be (pregnacare made me nauseas). It could be iron but thought more likely to be later in preg. I can't stand red meat at the mo so is possible as not eaten any for weeks. I've been all about the beige food.
Really I'm worried I've got an illness of some sort but hoping it's just normal and won't last beyond today.

squizita · 16/03/2014 17:18

Fedup I felt really 'weak' at that time. Feeble. It did pass thankfully.

To what extent around 14+ weeks are stretches, muscular other tummy-ache twinges 'normal'? I can feel them around what I assume is the growing uterus every 1-2 days I would say. I get them on and off- never get bad, can carry on what I'm doing (sometimes it seems to be when I'm driving: wonder if it's posture?, no bleeding. They vanish and mostly I'm fine. I'm just not dealing well with the looooong limbo until 16 week midwife appt (can I ask her to listen to the heart as then there's another wait till the scan!).

OP posts:
fod27 · 16/03/2014 17:52

I'm sure I'm having contractions, they are on my right side though is that normal? It really bloody hurts!

CorporeSarnie · 16/03/2014 18:21

Call MAU, fod, then at least they will expect you when it's time. I remember low back pain radiating upwards, but I was in theatre so soon (emcs due to breech) that my memories may be drug-addled, and I suspect like most things different people feel labour differently.
Glad to hear all was well nerdy, and fedup that sounds normal, low bp due to increased volume and hormonal changes, but worth pestering your mw about as it could be anaemia.

fedupofrainydays · 16/03/2014 18:30

fod you have heart shaped uterus don't you? Or is that not you?! If yes it could mean that one side has started ahead of the other. My mum had that. I would ring up though.

Thanks ladies. I'm just a bit scared by it and going to bed in a bit - not that have left the sofa today.

squiz if they are intermittant and not constant definately normal growing pains. I remember having lots of sharp pains too with my Ds that often stopped me in my tracks.

fod27 · 16/03/2014 18:32

Think I will phone just in case, I'm 40 weeks wed so I suppose it could be
