I have 39 days left (AND COUNTING) until my planned cs on 11th april

I am fat, fed up, knackered, aching, heartburn-ridden and absolutely DESPERATE for the baby to be out. this will be dc3 and deffo my LAST

anyone else got a similar amount of time left and want a thread where we can share the joys of the final stretch of pregnancy

currently todays bugbear is my needing a wee constantly, which will no doubt keep me up all night again

Morning ladies

How is everyone today? I'm exhausted :( and also feel really sick for some reason! Has anyone else found their sickness returned this late on? I feel sick quite a lot these days

Hi Cheeky, welcome.

Last and Helen my last growth scan and 31 weeks estimated him to be 5.5lb and off the chart for length, head and abdominal circumference. My DH and his family are all very tall and I have a lot of tall people on my side too (but I'm only 5'8"). Consultant wasn't too worried last time. He's old skool and thinks big babies are what you should want!

My main concern is the combo of big and transverse. Rings alarm bells for a difficult, crappy & potentially dangerous birth. Cord compression, placenta or cord prolapse, all scary stuff. Mw had already said if I'd had a cs last time I'd definitely be booked in again.

Balenciaga yes my sickness is back. Don't fancy anything and smells are making me heave. Mainly eating apples and toast.

I'm knocking back the raspberry leaf tea. It's quite nice when you put 2 sugars in it.

BlessedAssurance · 19/03/2014 13:14

Balenciaga the sickness is back here too. Why is that i wonder when we are so close.
Helen good luck with your scan. I would love a normal birth too. I was induced with Dd and the contractions were hot for 5 hrs before i got the epi, which ended in an Emcs. Hoping for vaginal this time as baby is all nestled in my vaginaGrin
Last night i was cramping and thought this is it, labour is starting, this morning nothing, my tummy is growling like i have eaten something i shouldn't have but that's it.
Cheeky welcomeSmile.

HelenHen · 19/03/2014 14:01

Not good! Con wanted to book me in for a csection in a few days and start me on steroids. I've declined both and asked for another scan next week, I dunno what I'm doing! Sad

She said there's low fluid and baby isn't growing much and that she couldn't see where the placenta is so it might be low. 4 week's ago it was well and truly clear, how can it go back to being low?

LastOneDancing · 19/03/2014 17:35

I'm sorry it wasn't what you hoped Helen, have they agreed and got your scan booked in?

Inglorious you've done a champion job of growing that baby! My little chunk was 5.5 at 32 weeks but thankfully head down.

I'm going to try the raspberry tea with sugar now! It honks Sad

Inglori0us · 19/03/2014 17:39

Sorry you've had that news Helen. xx

HelenHen · 19/03/2014 18:05

Yep they agreed to scan! I chatted to my mw when I got Home and she looked into it. Seems the con got it wrong about the placenta so now the advice has been changed to what I asked them to do anyway! If there's not much change in fluid, I will be induced though, possibly that day! But that's a better scenario than the original one. I'm quite annoyed though! It's gonna be a long week!

And yep inglori0us, that is indeed impressive... From what I could see on the screen, mines only 5.5 today Shock

Inglori0us · 19/03/2014 18:09

Phew Helen, what a relief. The week will drag but the end is near!!
I'm measuring 42. Can really feel the baby's head bulging out of my left side and I can sometime see feet pushing against my right side. It's like something from Alien!

HelenHen · 19/03/2014 19:07

Aw lol, this is the fun part now! Everything's bloody breaking too! Came home from con and there was a puddle of water on kitchen floor... And the dishwasher won't close! I'm fed up Blush

Ouch, I don't envy you at all!

BlessedAssurance · 19/03/2014 19:27

helen sorry it didn't go the way you had hoped forSad.

HelenHen · 19/03/2014 19:32

Thank you blessed Blush am a bit calmer about the whole thing now!

Inglori0us · 19/03/2014 19:43

Dh phoned and asked if he can go to Munich for work next week for 2 days. I'm thinking it'll be ok.
The risk is my waters breaking cos then I'll have an emcs straight away because of the risk of cord and placenta damage, but even if he was in his office in UK he may miss that as it's 2 hours drive away, sometimes more at rush hour.
He is taking at least 3 weeks off when the baby comes and he's been really good with taking dd so I can rest. I kinda want him to go as it's important for him but what if it all goes tits up and he can't get back?

Vikkijayne2507 · 19/03/2014 20:16

I dont envy the decision inglorius I suppose the result would be the same if he was here or away I forget how far along you are now. My oh was going to go the the UK for the day but I think hes too worried ill go into labour. He panicked when I rang him about having and he didnt answer and then called me frantically asking if i was at the hosptial yet. So I dont think he will go.

37 weeks today

LastOneDancing · 19/03/2014 20:26

Does your DH work for himself or a company? If its the latter I think I'd say no at this late stage, but it's a harder choice if it means him missing work that you rely on financially.

I know he's still a few hours away, but there's a better chance of him being around sooner that way than if he's having to wait for a flight.

Inglori0us · 19/03/2014 20:40

He is employed. I'm going to think about it.
Mw said if waters go then they'd aim to emcs with 2 hours. If If go into labour naturally then there's less rush and he can prob get back quite fast (we are in London so lots of flight options).
I'm 36 weeks now.

HelenHen · 19/03/2014 20:47

I would and have said No inglori0us. When I was pg with ds, dh was offered training in Germany when I woulda been 37 weeks, I said no, he agreed! I hope it's just that simple? His bosses were find and understood! He went a couple months later instead! 3 week's sounds great though!

Misty9 · 19/03/2014 20:54

Is this your first inglorious? I can't remember... Dh is on a 'no longer than two hours away' rule from next week as I'm 37wks today - but I fully expect to go to due date and beyond and I'd probably say yes to travel if it was important for his job. If there's any hint of going early though I'd play it safe.

That all sounds a bit stressful helen but well done for standing your ground. Hope all is fine next week.

Well I suppose the countdown begins..but I'm trying not to think too much like that!

Misty9 · 19/03/2014 20:55

Doh, just read about your dh 'taking dd' so not your first :) were you early with her?

HelenHen · 19/03/2014 21:46

Thank you misty! Now dh is suddenly being a prick after being wonderful all day. Im gonna crack up! Everything was going great and now it's all just a big mess!

IWantAnotherBaby · 20/03/2014 05:01

Waters just broke (well 2+ hours ago now). Only a couple of painless contractions so far though. So looks like DC3 will be 10 days early... Will keep you posted. x

LastOneDancing · 20/03/2014 05:17

How exciting IWant! Good luck and keep us posted!

What's up with your DH Helen? Do you think he's just a bit shaken up about the consultants concerns? When my DH is worried it sometimes shows through nobbish not very helpful behaviour... Hmm

HelenHen · 20/03/2014 06:53

Ahhh I want... That's brilliant! Grin good luck and keep us posted Smile

Lastone... Probably but it's really not helpful, is it! Cos things are getting real I pushed him more to do the jobs that need to be done and he was all 'nothing I do is good enough for you, blah blah! I really felt like killing him! I was trying to talk to him about plans for ds when I'm in Labour and that was when he started getting annoyed. He wouldn't talk about it, said he was tired and we'll talk some other time... He always does that... Now I'm stressing about that too! Have some friends coming over this morning though so will get sone actual support!

CaipirinhasAllRound · 20/03/2014 07:25

Glad you got the news you wanted Helen

Inglorious, I'm in a similar situation, DH announced yesterday that he's been asked to go to Amsterdam next Friday. It would just be for the day and he'd be home by about 10pm. It'll be 37+2 but only finish work myself next Thursday. It's baby #1 and I would be gutted if he missed it but I'm thinking next week will be fine

Good luck IWant!

bopoityboo3 · 20/03/2014 07:51

Good luck Iwant! hope everything is progressing nicely for you not at all jealous

Saw my midwife yesterday and the lo has gone from being 3/5 engaged to having his head completely free again but is still very much back to back. Sad Had an irrational sulk about it after she left well DH sat there feeling useless.

Inglori0us · 20/03/2014 08:33

Exciting Iwant can't wait to hear more news!

Helen hope things are ok today. Blokes really don't handle emotional stress well in my experience.

Caiprinhas do what you think best. With your first it probably won't be super-fast so it's unlikely he'll miss it if he can keep his phone on all day. I've asked dh's assistant to make me a list of all flights from Munich to London for the time he'd be away. I'll then decide.
