Welcome ticklemepink and CONGRAT'S.

I also had a missed m/c in August at 12 week but baby died at 7. Was a big shock.

looking forward to scan on 15th jan, ask your gp for a scan if they won't send you for hospiatal one you could always get a private one, but hopefully gp is helpful.

Thanks First-Star for the thoughts, a good friend from ante-natal classes first time round has just had her baby, which gave me a big boost! we were in the hospital at the same time having our first babies and it was funny talking to her today on the phone and hearing all the maternity ward noises off! She was very committed to a VBAC, indeed a homebirth, and persevered for 30 hours before it was clear that it wasn't going anywhere, and she had a second CS. She's glad she gave it a go, but reaffirmed that going with your instincts is best. Really it doesnt matter how the babies come, as long as they arrive safe and sound.

10 weeks seem like a long time - especially as I feel as big as I did at 39 weeks with DS!! at least tomorrow is my last day at work Ho!ho!ho!

3Flights, keeping all things crossed for you today. These tough days come and go, and there are many tough days in these precious pregnancies.

Daisybump · 18/12/2006 14:05

T4T...go with what you think is right. It's your birth experience so don't let anyone bully you. I'm in a similar situation, but the other way around. My mw said that at the hospital I've chosen they try to encourage VBAC after c-section and would suggest a trial of labour, which I was quite happy with, but we saw a (very junior) doc when I had my dating scan and she managed to scare me witless about the whole thing, saying that if I didn't go for an elective and needed an emergency there could be all sorts of horrible complications (including a ruptured bladder) if it turned out that things weren't quite in the right place after the first c-section or there was scar tissue in awkward places.
Made me feel really insecure about my choices and left me wondering whether I'm doing the right thing. I'll chat it over again with my mw when I see her on 28th as she seems much more pragmatic and sensible about things. I think this doc just wanted to get her scalpel out...she said that they don't get many complicated births there are most high risk pgs are referred to the other hospital in the area. Not exactly confidence inspiring.

On a more positive note, have felt definate flutters over the weekend. Had vague feelings last week, but only just 15 weeks so wasn't sure, but they have been much stronger over the weekend. Starting to relax and feel that this is actually going to happen this time

Quick hello to the newbies...hang in there and lots of positive vibes coming your way

Thanks for good wishes ladies, hopefully will get the results tomorrow (tues) and be back to being more positive. Feel like a real woose, really nothing I can do about it anyway so why am i worrying?

Congrats tickle, v exciting! Early scans depend on your hosp/doc but if you explain that you're feeling terribly anxious they might get you an early one.

Hope everyone else is doing well and staying calm. Does anyone do pilates or yoga? I'm thinking that a spot of meditation/focussing on something else rather than this pg might be a good thing . Sorry for being so unsuportive and me-focussed, I really feel like I'm doing a lot of moaning and not really helping others

3flights, first star is right, we're here for you. Still with crossed fingers etc.

I did lots of yoga, herb tea, relaxation classes etc when I was pg with DS, this time round - nothing!!! just opportunistic sleep. I would say though, it is a great time if you can for any kind of pampering activity.

Don't however have a full pedicure just before giving birth, I realised at 11pm just before the caesarean the next day that I had to take off the toenail varnish, which was professional stuff and therefore chip-resistant and rock-hard! I was weeping with frustration bending over my enormous bump trying to scrub it off. It is important as it is a way for the anaesthetist to check that you are ok in terms of blood oxygen level. Lucky I knew that otherwise would have been tempted to tell them to sod off and leave my lovely pedicure alone

Daisybump · 19/12/2006 13:42

3 flights...missed your post, hope you didn't think I was being insensitive by my cheery wittering on . Hope things are OK and that the test went well. I trust you've got you feet up and are taking it easy over the next couple of days. When do you get the results? I hope the wait isn't too anxious for you. Thinking positive thoughts for you both

me too, been thinking about 3Flights. Hope all well.

Went to see the consultant endocrinologist today - very reassuring, he looked at my 2 recent tests and said that my baseline thyroid hormone was steady, there was nothing to worry about. What a hectic day though - getting there on public transport, its quite a long way, and with DS in tow.... having a nice cup of tea now, and treated myself to a packet of Prince Charles posh biscuits (which wont last long ) but a valium and a stiff drink would do the job much quicker (only kidding - but coo! what a day!)

Hi ladies, sorry for the delay we spent yesterday at the airport but were one of the lucky ones who managed to get out of London and are now in Edinburgh at the in-laws for the holidays.

1st set of results back and all OK (phew and hurrah!). Now just hoping that the procedure itself doesn't cause a mc! 3 days now tho, so we're over the worst I hope. Felt little lentil moving on Monday night - thought i was imagining it but s/he was defintiely giving me tiny hand and feet flutterings! I felt our last pg at 14 weeks so it could be poss (12+6 today). But not felt anything since then so now panicing. Altho I know that's plain old silly.

Aiport was hell yesterday tryng to push through with a buggy - ended up in tears instead of asking people to get out of the way! Glad we don't have to face that again for a couple of weeks.

Lovely news about the scan firststar! Sounds very cute! And good news about they thyroid time4tea. Know what you mean about public transport, it can feel really bump-threatening sometimes. Congratulations strechmarks and good luck with the scan! Hope everyone else is feeling good (or terrible with the comforting MS)!

Thanks again for your support - you really helped me get throuhg those few days - so glad we can look forward to xmas

time4tea · 21/12/2006 12:02

3Flights - I'm really delighted! that's wonderful news. I felt my beanie flutter about at 12 weeks, but it was a rare event for the those times, so don't worry if you don't feel again for a bit. I'm really so delighted, it is lovely to have good news for Christmas.

relax everyone with mince pies (even though stilton and port is off the menu, we can still enjoy ourselves!)

will sign off now for the holiday, back on 27th

love to all

Stretchmarks- glad the test went well.
