It's all gone quiet - is everyone ok?

We had a nice moment last night, DH was able to feel our bub having a kick and a wriggle - for the first time I'd managed to get his hand there to feel a proper kick. I'm feeling much less tired, but a little more confused than normal, a sure sign of the last few months. Roll on Xmas and giving up work not so much because of the work, but hoofing DS in and out of town on public transport without getting much of a break from fellow travellers or bus drivers.

Hiay. Sorry not been onfor a long time. Been busy.
Just wanted to ask a question.

When you have a m/c do all the symptoms you have stop straight away or just taper off. I only ask this because with myprevious two m/c I never really had symptoms just bleeding. Boobs today (my one constant) don't feel as sore. they are still sore but not like they used to be. Have a bit of nausea but i don't get that much anyway.

Maybe I'm being paranoid and just waiting for the worst to happen. Please talk sense to me.

time4tea · 26/11/2006 10:49

Typhoonsmum, I wouldn't worry too much, there have been a few questions on this theme recently, and all the replies and the discussions agreed that symptoms/lack of symptoms can mean anything. For example, when i had my missed mc, I remained with sore boobs, sick as a pig etc until the 12 week scan - so for 5 weeks, my hormones had been behaving as if the pg was continuing. If you are worried, go quick as you can to your GP or local early pregnancy unit (if you are here, I assume you've had a mc before? ask for their support in this time, it really helps) - it is worth it to set your mind at rest.

wishing you luck

Just had to say Huge congrats to First!!!! Wow girl you did it.

typhoonsmum · 26/11/2006 10:56

Thanks Time4tea.

I think i'm just panicking.I work next to the EPU unit on Gynae Day Ward and I don't want to tell them I'm pregnant as I'll get the "you should have waited three months" and "maybe it is too soon." looks. The Pg tests are getting darker, but not as quickly but that is because they are pretty dark now and can't get too much darker.
I think i'll wait till tomorrow and see how it goes and stop panicking. I've no real m/c symptoms(pain and bleeding) just thinking too much i think

Yes Firststar there are two sonographer friends I could sweet talk. The thing is they have discovered the other miscarriages. Sounds silly but I haven't had a scan with good news off either of them.
Feel better about it today anyway. I think I was a bit bored yesterday and started to think too much. (Thinking is always dangerous for me)
Feel quite sick today and boobs sore again so I'm ok.

I'm in two minds whether to ask them for a scan anyway. They say you can't see anything till you are 6 weeks or have a hcg level of 1500. Seeing as I got a bfp 5 days b4 AF maybe hcg is that high already.
Maybe I'll be too scared and just wait till six weeks. Only one week togo now.

typhoonsmum · 27/11/2006 11:01

Yes I hope everybodys scans bring good news this time around. I wish 2007 brings everyone good bean, bump and baby news

Good luck to everyone waiting on scans. We had our's this morning and everything's good and we're 3 weeks further on than we thought! EDD now 29 June not 21 July!

Still felt sick when we went to hosp tho... It's the same place where we have had all of our scans (only one pg was successful) so I have v mixed feelings about the place. But it was the same sonographer who gave us good news the last time, so I completely understand about having a funny feeling about people who scan you. When we were waiting I had to play on the floor with DS and a box of bricks so that I wouldn't cry.

Now trying to arrange CVS dates as we're 9+4 and need to get booked in so much sooner than we anticipated - what a day! And it's only lunchtime!

Good luck to everyone with/without symptoms. We had exactly the same (yesterday I was the knicker checker extraordinaire I was so convinced that it was the end). Hoping for little fluttery heart-beats for everyone
xxx

Just caught up after not posting for a week....Typhoonsmum, try not to worry. I thought I was mc again as my symptoms seemed to give up at 8 and 1/2 weeks, but they came back with a vengeance at about 10 weeks after I'd had a second scan. I wonder if it was power of the mind....after 2 m/c I was convinced this one wouldn't be a keeper and that I subconsciously banished thoughts of ms from my mind. symptoms only came back after I had a scan and saw the bean for myself...?? Good news is that at 11+4, I'm only getting the odd day where I feel awful, and I've even managed to stay awake until 11pm on the odd occasion!! I hope things work out for you typhoonsmum. Big hugs from me and try to keep positive and remember we're all here for you.

...it's a year ago today that I had my first mc and am feeling a bit glum about it, but also glad (well ecstatic really) that I am pregnant and don't have to face this anniversary feeling empty and sad, like I did when the due date went past. It feels as though I have four anniversaries to get through...the dates of the mcs and the EDDs. Does anyone else out there feel like this?

Daisybump · 28/11/2006 14:00

hello all,

Daisybump, I got through the due date by taking the day off and spending a lot of money at the garden centre. any productive, enjoyable activity that allows you to do things at your own pace that day seems to help, from postings from others.

First-star - thanks again for the support re: the thyroid scare. I had terrible constipation for about a week or so - made me realise how very uncomfortable it is, I couldn't get that 'I really need a poo' thought/feeling out of my mind! (sorry, TMI!!!)

A big bowl of All Bran every morning has sorted it out entirely, and I try to keep drinking a lot of water which apparently also helps; but Lesley Regan's book says that if this doesn't work, then Fybogel (not sure if this is an over-the-counter medicine, or a prescription only) should help. According to the good Professor, don't take normal laxatives, can be dangerous - Fybogel is a 'bulking agent' which has a different way of working which is entirely safe. Good luck with resolving this XXXXX T4T
