Good luck today Squiz. I'm sure all will be well.

Pixielady83 · 05/03/2014 10:13

itchy stomach but similar to stretchy itching I've had previously. Will show midwife this pm and see what she thinks. Just checked DD and she has nothing. I was hoping she would in a way to explain her extreme whinginess as well as my spots!

TotalShock · 05/03/2014 11:33

Just have 5 mins so trying to catch up with everyone

I'm so sorry to here aoife and Suzy You are both being so brave and I hope everything goes well for you in the future and you find yourselves back here when you're ready xx

MissM what a roller coaster for you. You have been amazing and I hope rhydian is continuing to do well. Please keep us all updated

Guff congratulations!! How are you feeling? Do you have a name yet?

Saggy how are you feeling this morning after chasing the ponio around last night. I know what it's like chasing them around normally never mind when you're just about due...

How are you feeling pixie?

Welcome to all the newbies. You are in good company with these ladies

Well we got out if hospital on Sunday and James is 8 days old. We had to stay in longer as he lost to much weight because he wouldn't feed. Was expressing and topping up with formula on a 3 hourly routine but could only get an hour ish between feeds. We managed a 4% weight gain in one day but still wanted me to stay in on sat, I was so emotional cos I had 1 hours sleep fri night and wanted to go home and it was my birthday and then I found out my beautiful dog died that afternoon. Got my stitches out and James heel prick test done early Sunday. Feel much better at home
Struggling with bf and had come round to not feeling to guilty about switching to formula and he latched last night but now I'm so sore from a million people trying to help man handling me I've don't know what to do with myself. Sorry for the winge just tired and confused about this bf lark x

Pixielady83 · 05/03/2014 11:48

Total big hug. Sounds like you've had a tough first week. I had a similar experience with DD and it was exhausting. Are you getting consistent advice and good support from the midwives? a friend of mine has just been through a similar experience and found the hospital's lactation consultant really helpful. Whatever you decide to do, don't beat yourself up about it hey xxx

Pixielady83 · 05/03/2014 11:48

ps really sorry to hear about your dog Sad xxx

fod27 · 05/03/2014 12:03

LO is 4/5ths engaged and measuring 39.5! Been offered a membrane sweep on the 19th! Apparently the extra discharge etc is a sign that the cervix is getting ready for labour - so keep a eye out ladies

fod27 · 05/03/2014 12:06

pixie defo get that checked!

squiz good luck today!!

Davmallem2013 · 05/03/2014 12:11

Thanks ladies and more good news on scans for fedup and corpore, best of luck and wishes for you today squiz my fingers are crossed.

Glad your all ok fod and hope your taking it easy today saggy after your eventful evening Smile and the fence is all secure to stop any near future galavanting.

Big welcome to mabel

squizita · 05/03/2014 14:09

V quick message. The bean is "normal" and DD is 12th Sep. :) :) Gave me a cheeky wave on the scanner.

GuffSmuggler · 05/03/2014 14:11

Hi everyone,

Another quick check in! Hope you're all doing ok, thinking of those of you worrying, I still can't believe I have a baby here but it really can happen just keep believing that!

total I feel your pain, is full on and intense with a newborn I had forgotten, especially if you have feeding problems. Our little man has tongue tie so he's already shredding my nipples to bits but we're getting it snipped asap. The birth was quick but I was so batttered and shocked I've only slept a few hours since Monday, am so drained and out of it.

saggy, pixie and fod am willing you all on, I hope your babies are here soon. It is so blimmin amazing once you are holding them and realise you've reached the end of this journey with a little miracle.

Sorry but I'm not going to put his name on here, but I promise you it's a good one Grin

Sorry to everyone I've missed, keep supporting each other, it's what got me through this rollercoaster journey. Soon it will be the anniversary of my ERPC but this year is filled with joy rather than sorrow. Thank you to each and everyone of you for helping me through, I'll be checking back in in between feeds and hopefully to hear of lots more babies soon!
xxx

Emki · 05/03/2014 14:16

Fantastic news squiz WHOOPIE!!!

Alb1 · 05/03/2014 14:19

Squiz great scan news! Total sounds like a stressful first week but glad he's doing well now, and very sorry to hear about your dog.

Feel like death today, headache, much worse nausea than I'm use too, being sick, loads of palpitations, they told me it gets better after 12 weeks, they liiiiiie!

JBrd · 05/03/2014 15:24

Great news, squiz, woohoo! Celebrations are in order!

total Don't bear yourself up about the ff - easier said than done, I know! I've been there, too - I felt so guilty when they told me that DS had lost more than 10% of his birth weight and that I needed to top him up with formula, it was awful. Has James been checked for tongue tie? DS had this, too, and I'm convinced that it caused the problems that we had with bf. Hang in there and don't let it spoil your first precious days (gosh, welling up here, how embarrassing).

guff all the best for the next part of your journey, let us know how you get on!

alb How far along are you? I got to 14 weeks with DS, before the ms tailed off, and it could still get triggered if I was nervous or stressed. Hang in there.

Pixielady83 · 05/03/2014 15:35

yay squiz so pleased for you Smile

alb it does ease off promise! hope you feel better soon.

guff hope you get some rest soon- lovely to hear from you. Really hope you get the tongue tie sorted asap, that's good they've picked it up so early.

Mw has taken bloods as now got itchy hands/feet so sending that to check liver function.

saggy is tomorrow induction day? I'm feeling very wobbly about induction. Especially as mw today said she would be surprised if they didn't use syntocin drip to progress if they need to (eg if breaking waters doesn't work). I was under the impression they wouldn't use that. It just sounds like it is going to be bloody awful Sad

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 05/03/2014 15:44

Pixie they can't do anything that you don't give them permission to do.
I'm not keen either, but only because dd has a bad heart and im not convinced that potentially sudden full on labour is in her best interest. my birth plan requests cesarean rather than stressful intervention. That said, I'm going to make sure I get a decent discussion on stuff before they do anything.
Do plenty of research, know your options and do the same. Get a decent discussion with someone who knows what they're talking about, prime DP to be your advocate, and most importantly, keep an open mind and don't panic.
I'm fairly sure I had the drip when I had ds as I wasn't progressing particularly well, but I'd had pethidine so I really can't remember. Confused It obviously wasn't that bad! Grin
If you need a drip, take the drugs! Wink
When is your induction date?

OP posts:
bakingtins · 05/03/2014 15:46

Great news squiz Grin

guff my DS2 had a TT and we got it snipped on day 3 - instant improvement in feeding.

total glad you are home and hope things improve from here. I'm sorry about your dog, it's horrible losing a pet and not what you need when your hormones must be haywire anyway. Hope it has not spoilt a happy time for you.

Thunderpantsarego · 05/03/2014 16:12

Hi all,

squiz massive congrats on scan news, that's fab!

Hi total

Sorry you've been having a tough time abc particularly sorry about losing your dog. I am so attached to my animals and am absolutely heartbroken if I lose one. Even thinking about if is enough to really upset me.

pixie have they given you a date? I agree with saggy in that it's important you are given all your options and that you make the choices that are best for you. Don't be bullied!

So I'm on day 3 of maternity leave and I love it! I'm getting so much done, it's brilliant. Although may have brung myself out a bit this morning as am now knackered on the sofa having 'a little rest' Wink

Pixielady83 · 05/03/2014 16:29

Thanks saggy and thunder good advice. I can understand your concerns about intervention with ryvita's heart saggy, it's another thing to worry about isn't it but hopefully they'll be monitoring v carefully. I'm to be assessed for possible induction on Friday. Sounds really silly but I had forgotten about the drugs I could have Blush was just thinking about gas and air and thinking it wasn't going to cut it if last time was anything to go by!

Pixielady83 · 05/03/2014 16:42

In other news, if I get one more cheery text from my friend asking if I've got any twinges I think I might have to scream at her. Don't people get that it's the most annoying thing ever when you're overdue Angry Angry Angry

LondonJen · 05/03/2014 16:43

Just wanted to come see how scans went Fedup and Squiz I am so pleased to hear good news, been thinking of you both. Feel like shite got headaches I think from a cold and the all day sickness on top is making me a big bundle of self pity, got to crawl back under a rock

fod27 · 05/03/2014 16:45

Yayyy squiz that's fab news! Really pleased for you
guff thanks for the update! You sound very content, it's lovely to hear of your happy journey - hope your getting lots of newborn snuggles
Pixie hips your feeling better and that you have the birth or as close to the birth that you want xxx

fod27 · 05/03/2014 16:48

I hear that pixie I was up until 5 this morning with labour pains in my back - then sod all again! Told DH to keep all symptons under wraps for now for that very reason - it's sooooo stressful

Pixielady83 · 05/03/2014 16:54

isn't it just fod! if I broadcast to friends and family every 'twinge' they'd have had no peace for weeks now and yet all to no avail! she's just so unbearably chirpy about it all- she is expecting her first though so she'll know all about it soon enough! or maybe she'll remain chirpy and I'm just a miserable cow Grin

fod27 · 05/03/2014 17:13

Your defo not a miserable cow! I feel the same huni, pissed off with waiting, that heavy and that that tired that if it does happen they better provide speed at the hospital just to wake me up enough to push but desperate to meet her

It's the messing about that winds me up! I'm happy to be in pain if something's about to happen but for it not to ... Well... That's just a cruel trick
