Thanks Fod & Jbird. Had some twinges and tickly feelings down where it's all happening. Logically it's wind and ligaments. Somehow I've convinced myself the tickling is my placenta ripped and flapping around. Blush I know I know f*ing mental!!! If that was happening I wouldn't be sitting here with clean knickers and not in agony.

fedupofrainydays · 04/03/2014 16:57

Back from my scan and pheweeeeeee - all ok at about 8 weeks. I was so stressed just before I really got myself all worked up. Had a good cry afterwards - a relief one.
Next one is the biggie - 12 week scan. 4 weeks away.... Another eternity

NerdyBird · 04/03/2014 17:05

Ooh good news fedup. Having a cry can be quite theraputic. Am I right in thinking that you have the same hospital as me - st. Peter's?

squiz fx for tomorrow. I think if something had happened to the placenta it'd do a great deal more than tickle!

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 04/03/2014 17:08

Dear GOD! Mum has just left, we have gutted the downstairs, bleached, disinfected and de dog haired.
I can see out of all of the windows, and it smells lovely! Smile
Sadly I am completely broken now. I've upset my SPD so much I can barely move! Sad
Im going to try a bath but im not sure I'll get out again! Confused
If im not back posting in one two hour s someone send the fire brigade with a big hoist! Blush

Penguinita · 04/03/2014 17:37

Congratulations on your new arrival guff! Blimey that was a quick labour!

And congrats on the good scan news dav and nerdy and fedup.

Oh missMedusa, your post about your beautiful little boy Rhydian made me cry, what an absolute roller coaster of emotions you must be going through. I'm 28 weeks too so I feel a lot of empathy for you, thinking about how it would feel if my little one was born now. I really hope it all turns out well for you, please do keep us updated on his progress. Sending hugs Flowers

So sorry to hear your sad news suzy. Getting to ten weeks twice must be so hard, especially given how long you have been trying. Hope that you can get some answers as to why it might have happened. Sad. Good on you for the positive thinking though.

Just had my 28 week midwife appointment and all is well, although Pingu is currently breech. Plenty of time for her to turn though. And I gave blood without fainting, very proud of myself Smile. emki how do they test for group b strep, is it a blood test? They took plenty from me today, not sure what it is all for!

fod27 · 04/03/2014 17:58

squiz I'd love to say it gets easier :/ but for most of us pregnancy will always be tainted as a result of our previous pain.. What I will say though is that we are all very lucky to be pregnant today and that's something to really cling to... My current crazyness is worrying ill haemorrhage in labor due to post op loss last time. Your not crazy your human huni xxxx

fod27 · 04/03/2014 18:01

Jbrd the 12 week one was a big one for me too but DH explained all the the sonographer and she was lovely to me - I was so scared i was shaking. Make sure you take time for yourself - Nows the time to be selfish
fedup yayyyy!!!!
saggys going to pop!!!! Better rest up lady! It's going to happen very soon ;) xxx

fedupofrainydays · 04/03/2014 19:55

Thanks ladies!

Yes nerdy, am at St. Peter's. A lot of people diss at Peter's but I had my first baby there and they were great on labour ward and aftercare I received after having a difficult birth due to funny angle he decided to come down. Plus the EPU have been amazing support wise, and shown real empathy, that I have not found anywhere else 'medical' so far (not the man at EPU, he was horrible, but Dr Bass is amazing with respect to my mcs and aftercare and now this preg)

fedupofrainydays · 04/03/2014 19:57

Ps saggy you may as well be steam cleaning like our toodle loo friend Grin

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 04/03/2014 20:16

Hey all - can I join? I think this is the place I'm supposed to be...

I have two DCs aged 6 and 8 - have been trying for DC3 for a year now. Had two MCs last year - one at 7 weeks and a MMC at 9 weeks. 8 months of ttcing and disappointment and I just this morning got a BFP!

I'm happy but incredibly wary - I guess I need some hand-holding especially through these next 8 weeks.

I'm 39 too - so I see this as our last chance.

Good luck to you all, and hello.
x

Thanks Saggy. I will probably lurk for a while and post as and when I start to feel more and more positive about the pregnancy.

squizita · 04/03/2014 21:27

Hi Mabel!

Mini rant of the evening: sneezy clexane nosebleeds, in the words of the meme "ain't nobody got time for that" grrr. Not even proper ones, so no sympathy. Sneeze sneeze sneeze red snot.

Emki · 04/03/2014 21:35

guff congratulations!! wonderful news - well done to you xxx

Thank you to all you giving advice on GBS (and yes I know that it didn't cause my late miscarriage, but they tested on the day they found no heart beat as they wanted to cover all bases - i caught a virus which crossed the placenta and that is why i miscarried - really rare thing that happened so please don't worry anyone)

So yes, basically they said that as soon as I go into labour or my waters break I must go into hospital and they'll put me on a drip - thank you for sharing the birth stories - they really helped - I know this is common - but can't help fretting!

Oh guff can't stop thinking about you! So lovely - is there a name yet? x

squizita · 04/03/2014 21:37

Oops Saggy! Soz!

Emki · 04/03/2014 22:11

Welcome mabel

Penguin its a swab from your front bottom! Its not routinely checked - I brought it up in this pregnancy because I had it when I had my late miscarriage - I'm sure if you ask they will let you check ...

glad all went well at your 28 wk scan - its getting very exciting! xxxx

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 05/03/2014 00:17

I have just spent the last hour and a half, traipsing around in the pitch black and ankle deep mud, after a sodding pony! The bastarding animals are trying to kill me! Confused
One of them, thankfully ONLY one of them, had pushed a fence rail down and got into the neighbours garden.
So dd and I had to go and catch her, get her home and then find out and repair the bleeding fence where she got out.
I thought I was knackered earlier!.... Sad
My lovely DD is soo bloody good. DP just handed me his car keys... Hmm

OP posts:
fod27 · 05/03/2014 02:24

saggy that's soooo pants! DD sounds a star tho!

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 05/03/2014 05:53

DD1 is a gem.
DD2 on the other hand is still where I left her! Sad Sad Sad

squizita · 05/03/2014 08:27

Saggy :( Running round after a pony in the dark? Not good. Hope today is uneventful (bar any events involving calling the MW! Wink ).

I'm bricking it. Came in to work (have a meeting) to distract myself.
In a rare moment of sanity I am allowing DH to bring £ coins for the photo token machine "just in case it's OK". Hmm Even though I am still having all the usual symptoms and one pink wipe several days ago (with symptoms since) isn't reason to panic.

JBrd · 05/03/2014 08:52

squiz Good luck for your scan! Is this the first time that your DH is coming with you? It'll be very emotional...

saggy Urgh, running around a horse in the dark when very pregnant cannot be fun! Your DH needs a kick up the backside, what was he thinking?! And so does your DD2, honestly. Hope you can get a bit of rest today.

My 'morning' sickness is nothing such. I actually fee fine in the mornings, provided that I get a decent breakfast. But come 3pm, oh my word... All I want to do is lie down in a dark room. And it gets worse and worse. By the time I get home, I feel so rotten I could cry - poor DS doesn't understand why mummy doesn't want to play, goof around, dance Sad Ever tried singing a bedtime song when feeling you're about to throw up? Not great...
Ah well, this too shall pass.

Pixielady83 · 05/03/2014 09:39

loads of luck today squiz hope all is ok.

saggy well that's one way to try and kick start labour, a quick canter around a dark field! hope you're not in agony today.

Advice please, I've woken up to a tummy and boobs covered in spots! DD has been off colour for a few days but she has none... I have had all main childhood spotty illnesses, chickenpox, measles, German measles... should I be worried? I feel ok otherwise... apart from being overdue and knackered that is! seeing midwife this pm so will check with her.

Also contemplating asking for a sweep but not sure Confused
