Ok so toenail cutting is definitely getting to be harder work...

Thunderpantsarego · 02/03/2014 11:56

Question - if the baby lies OA, does that mean you don't feel kicks because feet are pointing directly backwards? My baby has moved and I'm confused not like me at all right

Tallyra · 02/03/2014 12:11

don't know about positions but yes to the toenail cutting. I have asked dh if he can help me next time!

CatsCantFlyFast · 02/03/2014 13:11

No thunder you should still feel kicks up high I think, as their knees are tucked up and feet should still be hitting up high

SidneyBristow · 02/03/2014 13:19

Awwwww yeah @ the new copter passenger; happy to share my stash of sickness bags Wink

merk sorry you've had an uncomfortable time of it and that you haven't gotten the sort of care you should have along the way. This plus boom saying she hasn't even seen a consultant has me very concerned. I still feel new to the NHS & without any family support nearby I am rather apprehensive. See the GP this week so hopefully soon I'll find out if the team of MWs I'm with are dragon ladies, or nice grandmotherly types, or perhaps twin-carrying warrior women Grin

Goal for the week is to choke down more veg and take more walks. Shouldn't be hard as the bar has been set very low thus far. Happily NCT classes here are in the 200 pound range so surely that leaves me some money left over for a pair of treggings????

Thunderpantsarego · 02/03/2014 13:53

Hmmm now worried as to whether I should be worried or not. Baby is definitely still moving, but it's changed- before I could feel hard bum lump at top- usually on the left or in the middle with feet lumps literally poking out of right side. Now it's much more just rolling feelings and occasional hiccups with no real kick feelings. Should I be worried do you think anyone?

sid I hope you have a good team near you. My mws have been the stars, where the GPs have let me down, so fingers crossed you'll have an equally good team to support you. And we are always here to look after you (berries have been so much more help than family with maternity things)

BlindKitty · 02/03/2014 14:23

merk lol just realised I'd referred to you as 'moan' earlier! Wasn't intentional, honest!

puppy not sure about cool. Was just the last hour of a 30th birthday and a load of over-30yr olds trying to relive their youth, minus mind altering drugs, minus heels and one rather diffed haha! The birthday girls mum had been made to have day glo paint on and her nan had serviettes in her ears!!! Oh and ayla is lovely!

sid seeing as though I haven't even seen a mw since 16 weeks I've acquired all my knowledge on here!

Made the decision to insist on discharge from consultant care on Wednesday. Wish me luck!

Thunder I think provided you can still feel movement you're ok. Potentially baby has started to engage which would change the movements somewhat. But there is no harm in ringing your midwife and asking...better safe than sorry. I'm going to guess Boom would tell you to call

Kitty I laughed at you calling me moan, it's very apt!

Bunnygirlie · 02/03/2014 15:57

Hello, how is everyone this grotty Sunday?

Oh gosh, just been flicking through my maternity notes (how much advertising rubbish in the pack) and come across the page Record of perineal trauma/ repair! Ewwww made me shudder, I reckon I probably had that look on my face that men get when you talk about being kicked in the balls!

Sid I know how you feel, up until last week I had no energy but last week I managed to make a few meals that actually had vegetables in them Grin

Foodylicious · 02/03/2014 20:15

Tally I have a long body pillow from argos - i lie with it between my legs, supporting from thigh to feet and sort of just lean my bupm against it for suppport, don't tuck it under properly.
On the other side of me I have a pollow in the bed ready for when I turn over and just have this one between my legs knees to feet. I just tuck a bit of the quillt under bump on this side.
Taken me a while to work out what I find comfy!

this is it for now, sure it wil change again in a bit

oh and we have a huge super kingsize bed, currently to myself

Thunderpantsarego · 02/03/2014 20:32

Evening all,

Well turns out thunder kitten (or should that be thunderknickers following recent NC?) has shifted again and is booting my right side like crazy- the best discomfort.

tally I don't have a special pillow I'm afraid so I don't know. I just tend to fidget around with various pillow combinations throughout the night as nothing works for long.

bunny, stay off that page for now! The way I see it, the tearing is a small price to pay so I'm not going up worry about it. Just going to try to maximise my chances to minimise through the lovely massage and labour positions if possible.

Foodylicious · 02/03/2014 20:47

Yay for thunder kitten shifting! thunder
Babylicious has been a bit of a monkey too the last few daysGrin, spent from thursday eve to this morning mostly jumping on my cervix and hiding out in my pelvis.
Has been back up in my tummy today and being able to feel the kicks and prods properly is very reassuring Smile

BlindKitty · 02/03/2014 21:45

thunder fingers crossed for another turn!!

tally know you're more pg than me but I haven't found my dream genii of any use as yet!

tally I forgot to say, you are a lifesaver!!! Great shout on the children's toothpaste, it's really helped my gagging. Thanks Flowers

CLENCH!

Thunderpantsarego · 02/03/2014 22:17

kitty which way are you crossing fingers kitten turns?
Good luck with the consultant too

Thunderpantsarego · 02/03/2014 23:15

(By which I mean I think it's the right way round now- I don't think I want any more turns!)

Thunderpantsarego · 03/03/2014 04:26

Lala la la la
Oh the early hours... I'm not sure we'll ever really be friends.
merk are you out there? Hope you're sound asleep!

CatsCantFlyFast · 03/03/2014 05:01

Nope I'm awake! Think I have smashed the record overnight for number of times I have got up to pee! Hope you're back to sleep now...although on the plus side at least you don't have to work today Grin

Boomgoestheweasel · 03/03/2014 05:34

Urrf too early.. Stoopid night heartburn

Hurrah for the new copter passenger!

thunder glad kitten now behaving. Hopefully gearing up for a nice easy exit!

Day off today..going to try and snooze then go do some handstands in the pool to try and wiggle babyboom around. Meeting nct girls for cake and coffee later too, how civilised!

CatsCantFlyFast · 03/03/2014 05:36

Would like to see your heavily pregnant handstands in the pool!
How much water are you guys nearing the end drinking a day at the moment? I'm not sure if I've got an excessive thirst or its normal

Boomgoestheweasel · 03/03/2014 05:52

I've always been a cactus so am forcing myself to drink at least 3 pints a day plus tea. Not really thirst per se though, although I'm still a way behind you! Normal to need more water by the end though, plus it helps with the fluid retention. How much are you drinking?

Lifeguard always looks a bit nonplussed when I start waving my legs in the air. I'm sure I look very graceful and not like an acrobatic hippo

BlindKitty · 03/03/2014 07:03

thunder oh I thought you meant she was sidewards and her head wasn't engaged yet?

No sign of the new recruit....

OP posts:
Tallyra · 03/03/2014 07:22

ooh! I had some good advice!! Grin

I have real trouble drinking much so I've been trying to drink boxes of fruit juice as I can gulp them down usually. still not working that well though, it takes me a couple of days to drink.

Boomgoestheweasel · 03/03/2014 08:35

Ps. Thunder - 'thundernappy', surely?!

Thunderpantsarego · 03/03/2014 08:57

Grin thundernappy ha!!!

No kitty I'm hoping the baby is back to being bottom at top, back down my left side and feet out the right. But I don't know and Merk's experiences have worried me

merk I was drinking loads. I'm not usually very good at drinking water and in recent weeks I have been drinking 3-4 pints just in the evenings (when thirst is worse). I have been less thirsty the last couple of days though, but still driving quite a lot by my standards. And usually a pint during the night too. I'm obviously absorbing it as I'm not up in the night to wee most nights.

I did get back to sleep- not long after you posted so sorry to miss you! Hope you got back to sleep too.

So yes, it's 08.57 and I'm not on my way to work....weird..... Smile
