If I'm feeling generous!

Foodylicious · 26/02/2014 20:37

Wow, you have been CHATTY today ladies!

jess this is the one I liked, its quite short, this one is 'part 1' (about 20 minutes) so there must be apart 2 on youtube too, I just have not looked

How many weeks are you now?? 12?14?

boom I know what you mean, they put you 'under consultant care' which means thqat basically you get seen by a regisatra if you are lucky. The other way of looking at it though is that the consultant will be aware of the patients on his case load so the ones he does not see personally and entrusts to his underlings must be the ones he is less concerned about? not sure if that helps though Confused

Been to yoga class this eve so super relaxed, though I do worry a bit about the drive home after in case I am too relaxed Shock

Has anyone else looked, I mean REALLY looked at the list and the dates? For a group of largely unexplained infertiles, we've done bloody well girls!!

Foodylicious · 26/02/2014 21:12

Grin tally!

BlindKitty · 26/02/2014 21:17

boom sorry to hear the twins aren't playing ball! Would some more pregnancy yoga help move them into position?

merk just imagining you in labour and still managing to post!

jess you're doing great hon, not long now

So yoga teacher made a suggestion of another birthing centre tonight. Not much further than my current one, has 4 pools, soft lighting, birthing aids, allows Dh to stay over, has pull down double bed as well as bed to birth on...oh and the best bit doesn't have a ward to send you to so afterwards you, your Dh and baby can all get in double bed together and have done quality time. So just gotta convince the docs to discharge me to mw led now...,

if anyone is recording 'the smoke' to watch later, don't. at least ffw the first few minutes and through the ads.
I've had a fucker of a day. had to put down one of the ferrets today and then I watch something that starts with a baby being caught in a fire and stupid save the children begging ad. I nearly threw the remote at the tv. I'm now really angry at the telly for making me cry yet again today. Angry

Foodylicious · 26/02/2014 21:50

cheers tally. I seem to be ever limiting what I expose myself to these days!

BlindKitty · 26/02/2014 22:18

Oh Dh told me all about the ad yesterday..all fir Save the Children but not quite what we need to hear right now Hmm...

Bunnygirlie · 26/02/2014 22:27

Sorry to hear about the ferret tally x

I know I know, you guys love my lists! Grin

CatsCantFlyFast · 27/02/2014 08:22

Sorry about the ferret Tally

jessplussomeonenew · 27/02/2014 08:55

Tally, sorry yesterday was such a rotten day and hope today is better. Pregnancy hormones seem to make the world's rough edges so much harder to deal with!

SidneyBristow · 27/02/2014 09:01

Really sorry to hear about the loss of your pet Tally. Thanks

jess thanks for the info on the Harmony test; DH had a scare with worrying results for one of his children (who as it turned out was completely fine) so it was no effort to get him to jump at a blood test that gives more accurate results without any risk to me or baby Grin Wish it weren't so pricey but perhaps sometime soon a lab will open here and bloods won't have to be sent to CA for testing.

merk you've inspired me to give batch cooking a try; found a list of 20 freeze-able recipes which I may give a spin, as soon as I have the energy. We've eaten horribly this week but if I had something decent on hand to choose from, it might be easier to force something healthy down, instead of yet another bowl of cereal. Milk is wrecking me lately!

You're all giving me the heebie-jeebies food for thought over what sort of birth I'd like to aim for. I might have to have a c-sec due to an existing health issue, but it'd be nice to feel like there were other options.

I saw that "Save the Children" ad - apart from being shocking and upsetting, I watched in horror thinking "put your GD camera down and go get that poor woman & baby a blanket" - guess it's too improbable to think that it was an extremely realistic re-enactment, but I have to say the sight of a near-dead baby was not something I was prepared for, despite the lame warning.

What's the Berry verdict on hair color/highlights? I'm 7w on Sat and if my dates are right, had my hair colored last during the week I conceived. I've googled it to death and the brand they use is certified organic/vegetable/no DHEA/parabens etc (more veggie than Aveda, it sounds like), and I only ever have a semi-permanent base put on with highlights, but I really don't want to do something stupid out of ignorance. Confused

Basically I'm bricking it in advance of Saturday's scan and will worry about any/everything til then. Including that going down a flight of stairs leaves me gasping. Forget Ikea, I might faint in my own house!!

Brodicea · 27/02/2014 11:16

Sad to hear about your ferret tally Brew

I haven't seen this Save the Children advert but it sounds horrific!

I used to Henna my hair, which should be safe, but I just sort of stopped once the BFP came along - didn't like the idea of the smell at first and then was just being lazy! I was considering it today as I have a baby-shower party type thing at the weekend. I lived in the US from eight weeks to nine years old and one of my BFs is a yank so I figure it's justified. No expensive gifts, they're just chipping in for a voucher. I'm excited but also embarrassed of seeming grabby / tempting fate - my american and english sides are battling!

Tallyra · 27/02/2014 12:23

There's a lot of differing opinions on hair dye but most things say it's safe. I bought a pack of dye 2 years ago and still haven't used it though!

Tallyra · 27/02/2014 12:23

And thanks everyone for the sympathy. Yesterday was crap. Today can only be better.

Thunderpantsarego · 27/02/2014 14:53

Hi all. tally more sympathy from here- absolutely awful losing a pet. Flowers

Hair dye- I avoided it in first tri, purely down to my own superstition after the mmc last time, but have been having it done since- mine is to cover greys! The Expecting Better book looks into it and finds no reliable reason not to in the research.

So... 37 weeks today...full term! How on earth did that happen?

Boomgoestheweasel · 27/02/2014 15:16

Woooo thunder full term! Can't believe you're so close to the end, honestly doesn't seem like ten minutes ago I was trying to stop you leaving Berry HQ without me Grin

Tally belated sympathy for yesterday, hope you've had some tea and chocolate therapy and are feeling better. I cried for a week last time a pet died, and it wasn't even living with us (my old childhood cat - I bawled down the phone to my mum when she phoned to tell us!)

Sid ditto what the others said, there's no evidence based reason not to dye other than superstition. I haven't dyed mine since being diffed but that's down to laziness and the fact that my hair is so short that my roots have already grown out..

Went swimming this morning to try and jiggle the naughty twin back into position. Got pool rage with all the people floating around randomly in the pool, swimming widths instead of lengths hangable offence surely , kicking me and generally being irritating - why do people have no manners in swimming pools?

Excitement for this afternoon is going to DFS to look at sofas...WOOOO! Hmm

SidneyBristow · 27/02/2014 16:01

ooh boom new sofa! exciting times she typed sitting in the crater left by a broken spring in the sofa left here by the previous owners I love a good home improvement job that doesn't involve a paintbrush or a messy plasterer. you and merk will have such nice places to bring your babies home to! [jealous emoticon goes here]

thunder full term OMG it seems like just yesterday you all were announcing your positive results!! Time flies!

Thanks for the info on hair treatments; the dilemma has been postponed as my appointment had to get moved. I only wish I could let my roots grow out, but if I did people would presume I was someone's grandma acting as surrogate. We are early to go grey in my family.

Today's accomplishment for me was realizing that orange juice is much less appealing in reverse. My first bout of morning sickness that actually occurred in the morning! Woot! Hoping this is another indicator that all is well. DH told me earlier that an irrational part of him doesn't quite believe that there's 'something in there' til after he sees it on a screen. I hadn't realized he was such an X-Files -style conspiracy theorist; either that or I always look as haggard as I've felt the last couple of weeks so there's no discernible difference between pre-pregnancy me and pregnancy-me Grin or should that be Sad

SidneyBristow · 27/02/2014 17:00

Having a cramp - haven't had one in a couple of weeks, I don't think - did this happen to you all around this time (just shy of 7 weeks)? Confused

Foodylicious · 27/02/2014 17:13

Yes sid think it happened to most of and probably all worried too, I know I did!
Had a good few cramps and what are described a 'fanny daggers'Grin

PuppyMummy · 27/02/2014 18:34

hi all just checking in. tally sorry about ur ferret, hope today was better.

I hav had crap couple of days, work crap & im mega tired.

baby not been wriggling much today just a few ripples so im worrying about him. he is normally v wriggly. if he doesn't perk up tonight ill ring midwife in morning. Sad

Bunnygirlie · 27/02/2014 18:36

Wow thunder 37 weeks! How are you feeling? Realised a baby is coming yet?!?

I'm only a teeny bit behind you - 9 weeks today Grin

sid I have a few cramps here and there, not really painful ones though. I'm having trouble cleaning my teeth, trying to freshen up but it's just making the gagging worse. I have to warn you frosties are not nice in reverse either Shock

First Midwife appt tomorrow, bit nervous!

SidneyBristow · 27/02/2014 20:21

This feels like an achy, AF-style cramp; not painful but definitely not stabby or sharp. It's scaring me to death.

Puppy really sorry you're having a worry too; hopefully for both of us it's nothing other than our fears in overdrive x

BlindKitty · 27/02/2014 20:42

sid prob just the bean getting snuggled in! You've got loads going on down there atm so it's no wonder you might have the odd twinge

bunny is the appt at your house or a clinic? Its mostly just an information gathering exercise. She'll tell you stuff too but I expect you'll already know most of it

puppy I literally just said the same to Dh but she's just given me a wang to sort me out! Go and lie down or have a hot drink and hopefully you'll get a wang too!
