No idea about sachets I'm afraid

Bloody hormones have me nearly crying at Sid's BFP!

Boomgoestheweasel · 11/02/2014 18:49

Bloody hormones have me almost crying at you almost crying at sid's BFP!

Boomgoestheweasel · 11/02/2014 18:50

foody probs fine but since I am but a mere midwhiff and not an all powerful pharmacist can't say yes or no definitively! Go with cranberry juice and water tonight and get some stuff from doc tomorrow?

CatsCantFlyFast · 11/02/2014 18:52

Grin boom

Have been meaning to say that my mum sent me a link to a full length body pillow (not a pregnancy specific one) from Argos for £13 the other day. Sent OH to get it as figured even if it was crap it didn't really matter for that price. Its actually been quite good, long enough to go between the legs and support bump and put my head on it. Its a little synthetic feeling and there is a zip at either end which is annoying, and its a little thin but it is massively cheaper than any pregnancy pillow I've seen and will certainly do the job for me

CatsCantFlyFast · 11/02/2014 18:53

Foody I think one of the grads once mentioned that cranberry juice if you have got cystitis can actually make it worse (perhaps the sugar or something)? Maybe worth asking them as I seem to remember it was a comment in response to somebody having cystitis while preggers

Foodylicious · 11/02/2014 18:59

Thanks merk can't stand the stuff so glad I don't have to force it down!

Foodylicious · 11/02/2014 19:02

just had a look at the pillow merk think I will pop out and get one tomorrow!

CatsCantFlyFast · 11/02/2014 19:03

Glad to have been a help

Panic over on the belly pain, it's gone

Boomgoestheweasel · 11/02/2014 19:06

Good point, has to be actual cranberry juice/tablets and not the shitty sea breeze 'juice drink'. Water will do though foody!

Oooh I want the pillow too..

Tallyra · 11/02/2014 19:06

Tears in my eyes over Sid. dh just asked me if I was alright!!!

CatsCantFlyFast · 11/02/2014 19:24

Bloody hell Sid has reduced us to a blubbering mess!
Am amazed at her full blown FUFC bfp, not just the last cycle before IVF but after actually starting treatment!! Grin Bet her clinic were starting to count their pennies prematurely Grin

Bunnygirlie · 11/02/2014 19:38

Hi y'all

Fab news about sid hope she comes to join me soon, I need another early berry!

Didn't I make you cry Wink

So much of your chat I have to whizz through, it's all Greek and scary to me at the moment

CatsCantFlyFast · 11/02/2014 19:41

We all had faith in your BFP Bunny, Sid's au naturel one is a bit of a shocker tho!

Thunderpantsarego · 11/02/2014 20:13

Oh yeah merk you're right, that episode was pain all over bump. Have had some stabby pains on low left side too- asked the mw yesterday as it's pretty tender there even as she was feeling it and she said it's pretty common, especially low down there. So have you been doing lots of chiro exercises or appointments? Wanting to pick up on some tips as I have no idea what troubles lay in store for me.

Just wonderful news from sid, just got everything crossed it sticks ok. Brilliant FUFC!

PoppySeedBun · 11/02/2014 21:21

Wow, loads of activity on here the last few days - I can't keep up.
Great scan news, bunny - congratulations. So exciting to see a heartbeat bouncing away.

Tally I'm with you on mat leave - have 6 weeks left before I go off, at 37 weeks. Not sure what to plan for, given it could reasonably be anything from 1-5 weeks I have to fill!

Bunnygirlie · 11/02/2014 21:34

Ugh looks my sister is psychic! She pointed at my tummy tonight and asked if there was anything in there! Grrrrrrrr. Why would she think that is ok to ask someone who she knew was struggling and awaiting ivf!?!

Thunderpantsarego · 12/02/2014 01:44

What did you say to her, bunny?

BlindKitty · 12/02/2014 06:46

Oh my goodness, you have been busy berries! That's just taken AGES to read!!!

So where's mrs B then?? bunny you need to go and get her!!!

bunny I always had every faith you'd be preggers too!

merk tally sorry you're feeling shite, wish I had done words of wisdom to help

boom I'm under a consultant too. I haven't seen a me since 16 weeks (26 weeks now) and all the doctors say when they see me is how they haven't had any letters back re my fictitious cervical treatment (helpful Hmm. Do you think I can ask to see a mw at the hospital? Feel like I'm missing out on useful info, Dopplers and measurements. Not even having any more scans now grr

So the car seat arrived yesterday...suddenly feels a lit more real (even though we got the nursery furniture on Friday!)

Thunderpantsarego · 12/02/2014 08:31

kitty that sounds so crap that you're not seeing a mw. What about all the useless bump measuring, pot weeing and 'shall we have a little listen to baby?'

Exciting about car seat tho!

So insomnia is getting increasingly worse here. Awake between 1-4am and then again at 6. Another reason why I'm looking forward to giving up work- at least I can go with it and catch up in the day time!

Bunnygirlie · 12/02/2014 08:36

Well I'm glad you had faith in my BFP because I certainly didn't lol

thunder I snapped at her! I said are you trying to say I'm fat? I said even if I was I wouldn't tell her till it was 'safe'. She said it was the way I was standing, if it's like that now I have no hope!

kitty I expect she is in denial like I was, I am only just in the copter Grin

Gosh I felt rough this morning, was actually sick Sad

Thunderpantsarego · 12/02/2014 08:42

Good for you bunny, you're right people should be careful what they say. I'd be careful with your Sad over vomming tho, because 1. If you start feeling better you'll freak out and wish you were sick again and 2. You might be in it for the long haul!

Brodicea · 12/02/2014 09:38

I wish I had done that bunny when my colleague asked me at 10 weeks 'whose ate all the pies then??' - I should have been pissed off rather than prematurely blurting the news.

thunder is wise

Brodicea · 12/02/2014 09:50

Also, it's been a while since we reminded each other to… CLENCH

CatsCantFlyFast · 12/02/2014 11:13

Thunder welcome to my sleep hell. Am sorry somebody else has got it too as its crap

Bunny the best advice I can give with sickness is that for most people it does seem to be worst when they are hungry. So find some snacks you can stomach and keep at them all the time, especially as soon as you wake in the morning. My snacking was incredibly unhealthy (crisps, biscuits, crap and junk) but without it I would have been a lot more sick I think. For me it had to be something i could prepare v quickly so i could eat the second i started to feel ill. I seem to remember lots of us eating cheese spreads (philadelphia, dairylea) too! dont eat apples, theyre horrible in reverse. The other thing I did was take my multivitamin with food at a time of day when I was least likely to be sick, that way I had some faith it was at least getting some vitamins into me if I was throwing everything else up and only eating shit food! FX it is just a one off though.

Foodylicious · 12/02/2014 11:33

merk is right bunny crap beige/carb food is the way to go.
I got through lots of scotch pancakes, malt loaf, crumpets, muffins, crisps, snack bars, biscuits, crackers, toast and sandwiches!
Would literally be eating them in the middle of the night, say 3am or first thing before I even got up to pee! for weeks I would take buttered scotch pancakes or maltloaf (wrapped up) to bed (think this was booms suggestion) so I could eat it without moving.
(managed a fair few Maccy D's in these weeks too, was almost like I was craving the salt and fat!)
I also still take my vitamins at night as this was the time I was least likely to be sick.

So basically my choice was eat little bits of rubbish food very regularly and put on a bit more weight than I should, or eat normally which would end in being really, really sick and unable to eat Confused then get dehydrated and feel awful.
I definitely did not have it as bad as some, but did have 5-6 weeks off work and was being sick 8ish times a day with almost constant nausea (only got better because of tablets and I am still taking them Sad).

Best advice I can give you is get in there with the snacks now, don't put up with it and 'see how it will go' - made this mistake on and off for too long. Apparently the earlier you can get on top of the nausea/sickness the less likely it is to get worse or last as long.
cheese spreads, chocolate spreads and jams were used to excess in this household too!

Hopefully yours will not last too long Smile, it really is different for everyone!

i did quite enjoy eating all those carbs at times as we don't normally even keep bread in the house!

hungry now, off to make a sandwich Grin
