Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Pixie I had this from about 36 weeks onwards with DS - I swear I could feel him scratching the inside of my pelvis! A really heavy, unfomfortable, sometimes painful 'rummaging' around, I often had to stop very suddenly what I was doing, bent forwards and went 'ouff!'. Got some very worried looks in the supermarket one day Grin
I'd say it's all normal, everything gearing up and getting ready for what is about to happen - but if you're worried, talk to your midwife.

fod If you are anywhere near Cambridge, you're welcome to come round and have a soak in our bath and have the leftovers from the fab dinner that DH has cooked! Or you could dig into the shepherd's pie that he has prepared for tomorrow. I feel for you, nothing worse than feeling grubby and hungry. What is your DH thinking?!

Pixielady83 · 10/02/2014 21:53

thanks jbrd Grin at 'rummaging around' that creates quite an interesting mental image!

squizita · 11/02/2014 08:24

Similar to Aoife's tomato story. Had a 'challenging' poo this morning.

Saw definite drops of blood. (TMI...) Thankfully had the wherewithal to check the 'front bottom' and 'back bottom' with different tissue. It was the back bottom, justa scratch I think.

Curse you constipation! CUUURSE YOU!

JBrd · 11/02/2014 08:50

Squiz Ouch! I can recommend linseeds, a spoonful over your cereal or sprinkled over a salad works a treat. Or prunes. I've also heard that eating kiwis with their skins is meant to be a fabulous remedy for constipation, although I think that sounds vile... Wink

squizita · 11/02/2014 09:04

Just been to the loo and paranoid there was something there in the mucus. So nerve-jangled. Hope it's nothing. Knicker checking!

Jbird thanks - linseeds and prunes sound good. Not so sure about skin on kiwis! :)

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 11/02/2014 10:09

Oh FGS! I need to have this baby soon! High blood sugar is turning me into a raving psychopath! I'm not saying dp didn't deserve a roasting, but blimey! I even shocked myself!Sad
Im getting a little fed up of asking people to do stuff or for help because I'm in pain with SPD and nobody is taking a blind bit of notice! Angry
Hes piled all the horded shit I threw out into the back porch. There is an 18 inch path for me to navigate to the tumble dryer! Can you guess what my first action is going to be today? Confused

LondonJen · 11/02/2014 10:21

Good morning fellow knicker checkers,

Ruth congrats on your bfp and welcome!

I have woken up angsty today. Is it just me or does anyone else go to bed with a huuuuge bloated tum, wake up with it back to normal and panic that feel 'less preganant'? As if bump was baby. IT IS NOT CRAZY BRAIN!!! Good grief. I am driving myself crackers this morning. FOR NO GOOD REASON!

Go saggy! Not sure I should encourage a pregnant lady in pain to be swinging a hammer really but it seems you have been left with little choice!

Pixielady83 · 11/02/2014 10:33

saggy I say you should go forth with your lump hammer THEN they'll finally get the message Grin just imagine the satisfaction...

london my sister recently announced her pregnancy and she said this is one of things doing her head in also, proper bump in eve, nothing in morning. It's all bloating so don't worry. It's even weirder when the bloating stops and you have a few weeks (14-18 for me) where you seem to lose your bump altogether but don't worry it does come back! made my laugh when my sister said 'oh and you must have a lot of bloating now at your stage'. No room for bloating with the mahoosive baby taking up all the space!

off to hospital for planned position and growth scan and then consultant appointment this afternoon. Which will probably involve 2 minutes flat of her announcing to me her preferred form of labour for me Grin fortunately I'm quite onboard with the vbac but there's not a lot of room for discussion with this lady apparently she doesn't like doing sections too much like work so I'm told by my physio

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 11/02/2014 10:35

London its gravity! you're probably flatter and wider in the mornings from lying down!Grin

LondonJen · 11/02/2014 10:44

Grin he he Saggy!

Really Pixie? I am sure that stage will spook me as well then! Need to engage logic brain. Good luck at the hospital.

squizita · 11/02/2014 10:55

London I think it creeps round the back and makes my arse bigger every night! Grin

Saggy GRRRR. Hammer away!! DH does the same - we have an old TV lurking out by the garage. Is it a man thing?

GuffSmuggler · 11/02/2014 11:43

Sounds like your due date went past without incident liesal I never got that far before so it will feel weird if I get there this time. Then the texts will start won't they: 'have you had the baby yet'!!!

Then the race will be on between me, pixie and rock I think she's still around somewhere. Feels really strange at the moment thinking I could have the baby tomorrow, or it could be another 5 weeks if I'm overdue...

kjh5 · 11/02/2014 12:04

Ha! Saggy I just had to lay down the law to DH - we've been 'renovating' our tiny 2-bed flat since the beginning of Dec (new bathroom, new flooring, turning spare room into nursery etc). He decided he'd do most of the work himself, while working full time. It was supposed to be finished by the end of last month but our (new) shower still leaks, our bathroom is still covered in grout and tile dust, there are rusty saws, drills and other tools cluttering up our little passage and piles of laundry, books, boxes fill of stuff that needs to go to charity shops (or the dump) littering our bedroom and living room.

The floors are getting laid on Thursday so tonight he has to clear everything out and finish off painting the nursery and bathroom ceiling (this was all supposed to be done on the weekend). I've said that by Sunday my flat needs to be back in ship shape condition with no mess, clutter or building equipment everywhere. After 2.5months of hell, I have finally reached the end of my tether! The nesting/preggo rage hormones are active and out in full force...

LondonJen · 11/02/2014 12:05

Grin pmsl Squiz!

Guff, how exciting! Here's to lots of lovely thread babies! You all make me very hopeful that happy endings to happen Smile

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 11/02/2014 14:04

Boo! DP has removed the offending item from the porch. I have nothing to hammer now! I'm having to settle for throwing away the contents of the kitchen! Confused

Fishcake77 · 11/02/2014 14:34

Hello everyone, newbie here..... I have been following this thread for weeks now and it has been lovely to read so many women's thoughts, worries etc. that are exactly the same as mine. After 7 years of ttc, a round of Clomid, a round of IVF, 2 mmc's I got a natural BFP in October. Today I had my 20 + 5 week scan and everything was perfect! I finally feel able to relax a little and start to enjoy this pregnancy. Wishing everyone a speedy, uneventful pregnancy and birth /emo/te/1.gif

Pixielady83 · 11/02/2014 14:43

welcome fishcake so nice to have you join us, that's brilliant you've reached that milestone after such a long TTC journey Smile hope your pregnancy all continues smoothly from here on.

All good at the scan. I have an end date for a section if I don't go into labour naturally (although that's a month away! Shock ) or they will try and break waters if cervix favourable 5 days after due date. So just the waiting game now Grin

kjh5 · 11/02/2014 15:05

That is great news Pixie won't be long until you, liesel, rock and guff have your bubbas in your arms!! Envy

Welcome Fish so lovely to hear your story, here's hoping the second half of your pregnancy zooms by!

Things I have learned today: NEVER EVER merrily throw half a bottle of bleach into the washing machine in the mistaken belief that it will 'clean out' the system - it now looks like we are having a toxic foam party in the hallway...

In other great news - just had my last appointment with the physio because there is nothing more she can do for my SPD and I just have to lump it until the baby arrives...

BUT my Pacapod changing bag just arrived in the post and I LOVE IT Grin plus ordered a whole bunch of supercute baby grows and tiny little mittens which have just been popped through my door

Pixielady83 · 11/02/2014 15:21

Thanks kjh I'm feeling pretty excited just now! I got my changing bag today as well Grin hooray! Sorry to hear your physio can't do anything more about your SPD though Sad

If anyone is looking for nursing bras, Zuilily have a promotion on hotmilk today - I just got 2 bras for £22 - normally they are £32 each!!

Aoifebelle · 11/02/2014 16:11

I love that this thread has graduates, those about to pop, frantic knicker checkers and all in between.

Ooh kjh I am proper jealous of your shopping I don't reckon I will buy anything baby related for quite a while (all being well), I suspect that three years of delayed gratification will lead to the biggest splurge I have ever been on!

Fod how are you today? I have been thinking about you a lot today. I hope you manage to get some respite soon.

Well I am now back in London after spa break of death. It did not start well - very uncharacteristically I did not book train tickets in advance and out rail card was out of date by three days, so we ended up spending 120 on train tickets for our 'cheap' break.
We then ended up in the middle of a traveller wedding party - no sleep for one of the nights, and the wedding party pretty much monopolised all facilitites for our stay - and it pissed it down so getting out was not possible. Being up the duff the sauna and steam room were off limits for me, as was the much needed back massage. So I settled for a facial. All was going well, until the effects of the prunes I had for breakfast started to kick in. I had no idea they could be quite so potent, I had to make a run for it with product all over my face, it was over 15 minutes by the time I came out of the toilet. The facial was finished off pretty swiftly after that. Hey ho. Hopefully one for the grandkids.

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 11/02/2014 16:41

Thats a bummer Aoife, can't you complain to the hotel about the wedding party?
KJH hooray for parcels! I love getting stuff in the post! Grin
Welcome Fish, this is the place to be!
Pixie it could be a race for the finish! 36 weeks on thursday and they're talking induction at 39 weeks if I don't go before! Confused

squizita · 11/02/2014 16:48

Aoife THOSE BASTARD PRUNES!! I can imagine...

Pixielady83 · 11/02/2014 16:49

Oh Aoife I'm so sorry that sounds rubbish!

saggy think you'll probably be before me then! Can't believe we're nearly there!

Ooh it's just started snowing. Although it looks very wet snow!

Aoifebelle · 11/02/2014 17:01

To be honest Squiz, the relief that massive shit provided was the best thing about the whole trip.

Pixie where are you? It is deffo getting colder down here, but no snow yet.
