Open to all elderberry grads and anyone who fits the berry criteria: over 30, pregnant with #1 after trying for a loooong time, and nervous as hell. Come on in for handholding and nub theory!

Hello all

Chuckling at kitty being a flasher, although did you have to dob me in TWICE! Mine wasn't fanjo, just inappropriate trouser removal.

Hooray for good appointment tally, excellent news!
Did we finish our stats list?

Ok I have a but of a tmi/personal enquiry. You know the high cm situation merk raised? Well I think it's making my...erm...burger buns sore in the same sort of place. At least I don't think it's anything else-like thrush or something- because it's just in this place and not internal or anything. It's just occasionally sore and a bit itchy. Anyone know anything about this?

Tallyra · 23/01/2014 12:45

No idea thunder but I do seem to have a similar problem. If it happens when I'm at home I will have a wash and use some thrush cream and it hasn't got any worse. No idea if that's the right thing to do.
I do seem to be having a relapse of a psoriasis skin condition that only seems to occur when I'm stressed. It usually happens in my ears and eyebrows but it's also appeared on my eyelid this week. It's so itchy!!!!!

CatsCantFlyFast · 23/01/2014 12:50

Sorry but I just cried laughing at l burger buns Grin I love you lot! Anyway, Thunder I don't think you should be getting sore or itchy buns. Could it be caused by your pants not fitting properly (I have lots of knickers that now rub uncomfortably due to bump making them sit in a weird place). Or irritation from a liner? I'm going to guess Boom is the one to ask but my gut feeling would be to call the midwife in case it is an infection
In my world its our private scan today and (drum roll) my new area midwives have managed to get me a consultant obstetrician appointment for tomorrow regards the breathing. Before they have even booked me in. I am tempted to take them all chocolates to say thank you for breaking the rules...the breathing is getting worse by the day and at one point it looked as tho I would have to wait 3 weeks to see anybody
Ps can somebody link to the proper grads thread please, I've lost it, search on the app doesn't work and I don't have laptop/broadband until next week

Thunderpantsarego · 23/01/2014 13:14

I haven't been wearing liners merk and pants feel ok although I wonder if it's just the buns being next to moisture for so long every day. Perhaps a liner would help...? Might try this and then ask mw. It's not that bad, just minor discomfort at times.

Here's another one from me, I have got a very faint linea negra on the top half of my bump. It stops at my belly button. However it's not central! It starts off ok and then veers to the right. What's that all about? Am I just totally wonky?

merk fantastic news about the appointment but not before time eh?! Crazy how long you've had to wait for this. What time is scan? Do you get more photos? I have been paying more attention to my bump and I think it's still growing. Got mw appt on Monday so I'll see what the measurements say. 32 weeks today- yikes! Can't believe it!

CatsCantFlyFast · 23/01/2014 13:18

I've got the wonky linea nigra above my belly button too Grin
Scan not until 19:45 tonight. Am assuming I can get some pics... Can't believe its 12 weeks since the last scan!!

I think we decided to stay here kat as the grads thread is just babies now so isn't really antenatal at all.

Sorry merk I meant to say that I'm on my phone do don't have link for the other thread. I stopped lurking on it as I don't really have a lot to add to the baby talk!

Glad others are suffering from itchyburgers as well. Well not glad as it's not exactly pleasant but reassured it's not just me. thinking there must be a joke in here somewhere about 'hold the pickle'?

winohhh · 23/01/2014 18:33

Evening all, thought I'd pop on with an update. Had my first scan today and they saw a little heart beat! :) they dated me at 5w5d, when I think I'm 6w1d, which I'm a bit worried about. They said it was within the norms, plus or minus 3 to 4 days. Think I'll go again in a couple of weeks for another one. When does the worry stop!??! Think I need to get used to all this uncertainty!

Good luck for your scan today merk!

CatsCantFlyFast · 23/01/2014 18:36

Win great news... the chances of anything going wrong once you have seen a heartbeat are minuscule if I remember correctly. And I was dated a few days less than I expected at my first scan too... it seems there is a fair amount of variation in when implantation happens. Mini Merkin has almost caught up to my original dates now anyway. Oh and....the worry doesn't end. Sorry Grin There is always something new to worry about just around the corner!

CharmingCats · 23/01/2014 18:41

wino. Congrats on your little heart beater! It's nice to have someone else in the first trimester, although I make 12 weeks tomorrow. I'm not sure the worry stops, but perhaps it changes focus. So rather than worrying about every twinge, you start to think about your cm and burger buns!
I too have the cm situation. It's a bit gross, but obviously doing a job!

CharmingCats · 23/01/2014 18:43

Great new on the appointment, merks . Just as well you moved!

MotherOfCleo · 23/01/2014 18:52

Hi ladies, just wanted to check in and see how you all are. Hope pregnancy is being kind to you!!

CatsCantFlyFast · 23/01/2014 20:48

Baby is fine! And looks much more like a baby. I was totally wrong to be worrying about size, she's measuring two weeks ahead and nearly 5 pounds already. She mentioned a 'good size' can trigger an earlier labour...

Thunderpantsarego · 23/01/2014 21:38

My goodness merk that's ace! takes back admiration for you being in tune with your body then ha ha ha
Are they concerned about her size? A friend here had a bump measuring big so they did some extra checks I think.

win fantastic news! Go bubba!!

CatsCantFlyFast · 23/01/2014 21:40

No concerns from the sonographer. Feeling good though as she's in the optimal position, not just head down but her spine round the left side, which is good evidently.
I won't tell you her head circumference or that that was the biggest measurement they took
Knew I wasn't in tune with my body at all! Although sonographer did say my bump was small for a big baby

Thunderpantsarego · 23/01/2014 21:52

Gosh so you're hiding her all in there! Is it diabetes they usually monitor for if they measure big? I'm so confused- inside my friend just measured a tiny bit big and they have done all sorts. Weird.

CatsCantFlyFast · 23/01/2014 21:56

Inside your friend?? This was a private scan so don't think the midwives will take any notice. And they rely on the tape measure measurement of bump anyway. Plus I am missing my 32 week app due to transferring from one area to another

Thunderpantsarego · 23/01/2014 22:09

Yeah that was a typo! I just meant to say with my friend! Yeah I know how inaccurate bump measurements are which is why I'm surprised that she gets all the extra stuff when the private people aren't concerned at all. Yet another inconsistency eh? I'm really glad all is well tho- so are you likely to give birth early then? First copter baby coming up?!!

CatsCantFlyFast · 23/01/2014 22:34

Hopefully she was right and baby is nearly finished cooking. I'm so fed up I would happily go first!

BlindKitty · 24/01/2014 06:47

merk boom thunder the sonographer was dead embarrassed but we both laughed about it a lot! She'd asked me to lift my dress but I hadn't as I was waiting for the tissue they give you, so I just lifted it and scared her with the growler! thunder at least you kept your burger under wraps unlike me!

The doctor laughed as he couldn't find a tape measure to measure my bump but being a dietitian I had a whole role in my pocket haha!

merk about bloody time re appointment! What time is it? thunder yes it's gestational diabetes with big babies but I imagine merk has had about a million urine tests by now. They'd have given her a glucose tolerance test if there was any concern from the urine.

wino fab news re scan. It's amazing isn't it? I literally burst into tears at mine and then remembered I had a dildocam between my legs the fc nurse said the stats for mc drop to 5% in first trimester once they've seen a heartbeat

brod pmsl @ your brothers story!

charming 12 weeks?! Where has time gone?!

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/antenatal_clubs/1930020-Graduated-Elderberries-Thread-9 here you go merk Grin

Thunderpantsarego · 24/01/2014 09:28

Chuckling away at the growler Grin

Thanks for the diabetes info kitty, I thought they'd done the tests just based on bump with my friend (eg urine ok) but I've probably got that wrong. I thought that was why they bother measuring bump in the first place. All seems pretty odd to me.

I had such an uncomfortable bump yesterday- think baby had moved and was pressing outwards and upwards. I'm hoping it's not got designs on coming out of the wrong hole....

Grin puppy... There's an incentive to clench if ever I heard one
