Open to all elderberry grads and anyone who fits the berry criteria: over 30, pregnant with #1 after trying for a loooong time, and nervous as hell. Come on in for handholding and nub theory!

don't trust a nurses judgement merk we are crap!

CatsCantFlyFast · 20/01/2014 18:37

Foody I am 31 weeks now. Great news on being able to feel baby kicking

Thunderpantsarego · 20/01/2014 18:43

merk I'm so impressed at how tuned in you are to your body. I feel like a lumpy fool compared to you. I have no idea about bump growing or not- just feeling lots of movement has been all I've worried about so far.

How ridiculous about the nurse tho- she should keep guesses like that to herself because if she was wrong in either direction she's going to cause worry!

Hey poppy. I get aches and pains all over the bloody place now. Haven't had the one you describe specifically but it'll probably come later today now!

foody how annoying about your tea and your plate, poor thing.

BlindKitty · 20/01/2014 19:32

tally yeh given my only other source of info is obem!

kat thanks for the reminder. I had forgotten (again)!

merk dumb ass nurse! Can you not just get an appointment with the mw and get her to measure your bump? Unless of course you're looking for an excuse to take another sneaky peak???!

foody I did the same the other night but put it down to karma for having such an unhealthy tea (left over frozen deep fried prawns from Xmas)! At least you had tomorrow's tea

CatsCantFlyFast · 21/01/2014 03:04

I think the new series of obem is due to start soon Grin
Awake for the second time tonight/this morning with breathing problems. And heartburn into the mix, although gaviscon tablets are a lifesaver in the middle of the night. Oh to sleep through...

BlindKitty · 21/01/2014 07:08

Hold the goddamn phone...there's another series of obem???!!!! Shock Grin

PoppySeedBun · 21/01/2014 08:43

On the bus, going CLENCH!
Smile
Just sayin'.

CatsCantFlyFast · 21/01/2014 11:58

Clenching reminders are really working for me, thanks everyone.

Charming how did booking go? Is twinks still lurking?

Brodicea · 21/01/2014 12:51

New series of OBEM! Worried I might get a bit scared as instead of being insanely jealous, I'll be thinking 'gulp'.

Gar to horrible nurses and disrupted sleep - at least we'll be well toned down below thanks to these reminders Smile

I've had a weird fascination with obem all the years I was ttc!! I seem to be even more obsessed now! Was even more obsessed with 'midwives' and have them all recorded as I like eyeing up which one I want on the big day!

Just watching an episode of 'the league' (not expecting anyone to have heard of it) but its called 'the kegal elf' haha

Foodylicious · 21/01/2014 20:01

Watched and enjoyed the first few series of obem and used to be really in to anything related - until will started ttc, since then I have increasingly gone off watching anything related to pg or birth. Just too hard to take when it does not work out or just too jealous when it does! emotional wreck either way.

I have turned off so many programs in the last year when it has become clear someone is going to give birth in that episode, have consequently given up Holby and Casualty(no great loss really), was not enjoying them anymore, just felt like I was on 'high alert' looking out for something related.

Oddly have also found I am now quite squeamish watching operations on tv where as before being pg I could watch anything like that while I was eating my tea!

Oh and finally had my flu jab yesterday and have a really sore arm, actially kept me awake a fair bit last night, (though I am awake alot anyway) and really achey today. Not normally something that bothers me much.

BlindKitty · 21/01/2014 20:16

foody aren't you a nurse? Imaging doc martin and his aversion to blood! Wink

Foodylicious · 21/01/2014 20:21

yes kitty usually love getting stuck in to all sorts but don't have the stomach for it at the mo - not too bad really probably just like most people feel most of the time, just not used to it!
I am acting up as ward manager from this week until the end of March so that helps in terms of not having to get too hands on, but I work with people with dementia so continence issues and fairly mild wounds are as bad as it gets most of time anyway. Wounds are one of my passions so hope my low tolerance does not last!

PuppyMummy · 21/01/2014 20:41

wounds r one of my passsions Grin Grin ha ha ha ha! love that foody

PuppyMummy · 21/01/2014 20:51

In my usual sneaky style - I have scan news!!

Baby was very naughty wriggling round a lot, twirling round and sitting upside down. Sonographer was ace and spent ages checking everything really carefully.
All good and each bit as it should be and my reward for my troubles...

A picture of a leg!!! that's all she could get!

I do have team news though Grin

CatsCantFlyFast · 21/01/2014 20:59

Yey puppy great news Grin. I'm betting blue... Just because we're a bit skewed in the other direction at the mo. spill the beans...
Ps bet its a lovely picture of a leg Grin

Foodylicious · 21/01/2014 21:00

Ohh puppy thats fab! is this your 18-21 wk scan?

Keeping the team news to yourself? we have not decided if we are going to find out yet Confused

And seriously puppy if you could see me at work sorting out someones big manky ulcerated legs, I truly am in my element (much to the disgust of most of my colleagues) Grin Grin grin]

BlindKitty · 21/01/2014 21:17

foody was about to say you must see your fair share of pressure ulcers but then you obviously run a tight ship so you don't get any!

puppy ha I remembered last night actually but didn't think you'd thank me for reminding everyone!! I bet blue too...

Foodylicious · 21/01/2014 21:25

I try kitty, I try... tee hee. most of our peeps don't stay still long enough to get P U's

PuppyMummy · 21/01/2014 21:41

thanks kitty!
yes im 21+3 today.
It is indeed team blue! woop!

Thunderpantsarego · 21/01/2014 21:47

Congrats puppy!

CharmingCats · 21/01/2014 22:04

Hiya. A team blue! Excellent!
Booking was really good, thanks for asking, merk . It was good to see someone and have time to talk about things. We talked a lot about my history of depression and I've been flagged as at risk of pnd, but still low risk pg, so birth centre still an option. I have to be seen by the mental health midwife for the rest of my appointments, but it does mean I see the same person every time, which is good. I also have to see the midwife counsellor. I've been impressed by the care, and feel more reassured about having the baby there, as I'd been undecided before. It has made me think about depression a lot though, and I had a bad day on Sunday sand couldn't go to work yesterday. Better today, but I think the symptoms I'd put down to hormones may be the beginnings of depression. So, I'm glad they're keeping an eye on me.
12 week scan on Friday!

BlindKitty · 21/01/2014 22:04

Ah these boys are evening out all the girls in the copter! Fab news! Are you pleased? I bet your Dh was over the moon? Grin

BlindKitty · 21/01/2014 22:08

charming omg that's come around quick! Glad you're being so well looked after

So going for another (pointless) cervix scan tomorrow. They better scan my tummy too so I get something out of it at least!
