Thanks kata that's a good tip, not sure why I didn't think of that myself!

banana welcome, I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who thought Frozen was sad. There may have been a tear shed...

armandale I read your thread too, glad you've got this far and lets hope its plain sailing all the way.

banana87 · 03/01/2014 12:25

good luck with your scan! Is go with a full bladder but plan for an internal scan anyway!

Sarah2013mum · 03/01/2014 12:59

Thank you saggy yes I am pleased everythings where it should be, they did see sac and yolk sac so hoping for a little bean next time :) the epau nurse talked about cervical stitch as lost last baby at 14 weeks. Baby was alive, hemorraging badly but was dilating until I went to theatre for D&C.
But I'll worry about that nearer the time ! Best wishes for ladies having their scans these next few days xxx

Sarah2013mum · 03/01/2014 13:00

Thank you banana too ! Positively hopeful ! Xx

MissHobart · 03/01/2014 14:15

Quick question, how come so many of you got scans so early?

Sarah2013mum · 03/01/2014 14:18

missHobart usually because of previous loss, or ectopic or in the case of any bleeding/ pain. Some epau 's are more happier to scan early than others sometimes depends on area. X

Pixielady83 · 03/01/2014 14:41

missh I think it depends on hospital/area as well, the earliest NHS scan I could get was 10 weeks (although I didn't push for earlier due to previous loss having been around 8/9wk point it didn't seem worth it for us) but a friend in another area had to wait til 12+ weeks despite previous mc.

fod27 · 03/01/2014 14:44

pixie I read this also - so I've sent HR a link to the direct gov site and cc my union rep into it, I also checked with my midwife and she says I should be paid for 4 hours per appointment, think it's disgusting the way working pregnant women are treated! It's a wonder that there are any antenatal classes in existence as the numbers must be incredibly low due to loss of incomes etc

Welcome banana crossing everything for you xxx

ChristineDaae · 03/01/2014 15:42

Hi all, I typed up a messag e before but it seems to have disappeared!
Just trying to catch up, welcome to all the newbies and congrats on the good scans!
Tins - almost 20 weeksGrin that seems to have flown by.
Saggy iv had awful nightmares about this pregnancy loads of times. Drives me mad Sad
Santa - any movement?

Louzul · 03/01/2014 15:46

Hi everyone. Sorry been a bit off radar as it's been back to work! Nerdy my scan is on Monday so I am feeling just as you are. Hope everything is ok.

Feeling very nervous as I never got this far last time. Gahhhh.

Penguinita · 03/01/2014 16:12

Happy new year everyone! Here's to a 2014 full of bouncing beautiful babies. I've decided I'm going to wear maternity jeans every festive season regardless of whether I am pregnant or not, soooo much comfier after all that food Xmas Grin

Welcome banana and sarah and armadale, best of luck with your pregnancies.

Good luck to nerdy and lou and tins and everyone else with upcoming scans. My 20 week one has just been moved back a week to 13th due to a shortage of sonographers, boo Angry. I'm thinking my due date buddies emki and ember must be getting theirs soon too.

I went with a full bladder to my 12 week scan, although I wasn't told to. And missh they wouldn't give me an early scan on the nhs here, so I paid for a private one at 8 weeks, it was so worth it.

It is my birthday today, the last child free one ever (fingers crossed)! Having a fairly relaxed one, have got stuck into my Christmas DVD box sets whilst polishing off the cheese and crackers this afternoon, then off to a lovely seafood restaurant this evening with DH. Pingu is currently doing a little birthday dance for me in my tummy, it feels amazing, the best present ever Smile

NerdyBird · 03/01/2014 18:36

How odd, I posted a message earlier but it hasn't shown up.
Anyway, I had the scan. It was ok, the baby was there, it had a heartbeat and it moved a little. CRL 54.8mm and NT 1.6mm. Now just waiting for blood test results and keeping fingers crossed it's a low risk.

I have now told my brother and SIL, and we are telling DPs family tonight. Also had to tell a friend who's wedding we are going to soon as she needed to know about dietary requirements. Felt a bit bad as she had a MMC at about the same time as I did, but she was further along. Could only email as she is in the US and I don't have her number.

It feels very strange to be telling people. I'm still worried something will go wrong. I've said no facebook announcements or posting of scan photos and DP agrees. EDD is 18 July.

bakingtins · 03/01/2014 20:25

Welcome armadale and congratulations Smile

Great scan news sarah and nerdy

1.6mm NT sounds nice and low, nerdy I would think you can relax on that score. It is odd suddenly being able to tell people, I have been very reluctant and there are lots of people who still don't know or more likely have guessed but think it's rude to say anything

Happy birthday penguin Cake

missh I only got frequent NHS scans this time after I was finally referred to the recurrent miscarriage unit after 4 losses. Previously I've been told that I can only access EPU if I have pain/bleeding, though the same people have always added something along the lines of but it's quite hard to tell if someone really has pain or not...

Lieslvontrapp · 03/01/2014 20:52

Great scan news sarah & nerdy!

MissHobart · 03/01/2014 21:05

baking tins - agreed, pain is very personal, depends on your threshold! I'm hoping they'll accept my 2 mc for a referral! maybe next time I should just rock up screaming!Hmm

Sarah2013mum · 03/01/2014 22:58

Well I'm now feeling like crap :( too much info here just been the toilet and when wiping had pink coloured discharge :( have 3 dc and had 3 mc . Bled with every pregnancy what ever the outcome but automatically thinking the worst !!

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 03/01/2014 23:06

{{{hug}}} Sarah.
It's easy to ^say try not to worry but everyone here knows it's not easy to do.
Try and focus on the positives. You have 3 lovely dcs who all made it through this. The changes are it's nothing.
Fingers crossed for you. xx

Sarah2013mum · 03/01/2014 23:10

Thank you saggy :/ I'm hoping it's just irritation from trans v scan this morning ? Or maybe not . :( xx

banana87 · 03/01/2014 23:34

Sarah I had the same after a trans vag scan with dd1. Like you, I've also bled in every pregnancy. Hang in there!

Sarah2013mum · 03/01/2014 23:51

Thank you banana I'm trying to rationalize it as I have had all sorts of bleeding thru each one and the only pregnancy I didn't have bleeding was a mmc [worried] no pain so guess that's good ggrr always at night time when u have no energy and at your lowest xx

Penguinita · 04/01/2014 09:14

How are things this morning sarah? People often post on here panicking because they have some light bleeding after DTD, an internal scan probably has a similar effect so it is hopefully all fine.

Great scan news nerdy. I totally sympathise with feeling weird telling people. I was desperate to, but then after the scan I ended up waiting a week as I couldn't quite believe it would all be ok. Also it is quite nice to just have a little secret between you and DP, as soon as you start telling people it becomes public property and the only thing anyone wants to talk to you about!

Does anyone know if eye tests are free when pg? I have one this morning, will take my prescription exemption form just in case.

ChristineDaae · 04/01/2014 10:02

Sarah I'm sure it's just because of the scan. Try not to panic too much!
I'm not sure on eye tests, I know the dentist is free but never seen anything about opticians

Sarah2013mum · 04/01/2014 11:19

Thank you. It seems to have subsided. tmi discharge at min just seems an off white colour so finges crossed it was just caused by trans v ! No pain and feel ok so hoping it stays similar and no worse.
I feel ridiculous. I had massive bleed at 9 weeks with ds and same with dd1 , dd2 bled on and off for most the 3 months . Wish I could relate to this more at 2 am when I can't sleep :/
I'm first hand proof that bleeding does not always mean the worst so why can't I believe it myself now ?!
Here's hoping for an un eventful day !

Thank you all for your advice and kind words. The fact I can come here to share worries is a massive help!

pumpkinsweetie · 04/01/2014 11:31

Happy birthday for yesterday penguinThanksWine

sarah fx for you hun, sounds very postitive that it has now turned white, probably just irritation from your tr scan xxx

Santa hope you have a baby soon, hopefully not long now!

I'm 40 weeks tomorrow, been having painful BH for almost a week on & off now, hoping baby makes an appearance soon! Getting very nervous about the impending birth, won't relax until she is here!
