kjh5 · 21/12/2013 22:51

Just popping in for a quick post as I've been struggling massively the past week with PGP and generally not coping at all with being in pain/exhausted all the time - but for anyone else having similar issues with back/pelvic problems I stumbled across this amazing website which I wish I had found three weeks ago.
www.pelvicpartnership.org.uk/
It pretty much sums up exactly how I've been feeling with the isolation and has some great techniques for coping with the pain as well as helpful explanations of exactly what is happening to your body - pretty much spot on!

ickle I was so sorry to hear things weren't going well. Hope that you are ok and getting lots of support Thanks.

Alb1 · 21/12/2013 23:07

I'm new to the site but am glad there's a thread for this! I had an MMC in August and got a very faint bfp 2 days ago, 2 days befor af was due, the very faint line hasn't got any deeper and no symptoms yet so I'm already really paranoid but fingers crossed!

kjh5 · 22/12/2013 09:43

Welcome alb1 and congrats on your BFP! We have a motto on here - Today you are pregnant! Helps get you through those nervy first few weeks. Here's hoping you have a wonderful, stress-free pregnancy!

Despite the daunting 500+ messages, I highly recommend reading through this thread. We've had a lot of newbies join and so there is loads of advice on pregnancy tests (in short - step away from them, they've done their job and told you, you are pregnant. The darkness of the lines doesn't make you 'more' or 'less pregnant than you already are!) as well as worries about cramping and spotting. I think the majority of us experienced both of these through the first trimester and it helps to know that it might happen and that if it does it does not mean you are miscarrying again but totally normal!

Pixielady83 · 22/12/2013 09:58

oh ickle I'm so sorry xxx thinking of you Sad

kjh really sorry you're feeling so low. The isolation and loss of independence is really hard. I know it sounds bonkers and I can't tell you how is works but I've found reflexology so helpful this time, I'm still off crutches at 31 weeks and managing short walks and drives. Not sure what is luck though and what is due to being really cautious this time. Can you call on friends to be taxi services and have a movie night out to at least have something to look forward to?

alb congratulations on your bpf! hope everything goes very smoothly xx

Only update here, have managed to resolve terrible heartburn by eating dinner earlier than usual then having a small bowl of plain cereal about an hour before bed. Very boring but thought I'd share in case anyone else is suffering...

pentagon DD is so excited! its lovely isn't it, first year she has been really into it Smile

Alb1 · 23/12/2013 00:44

Thanks, it's kind of a relief to realise that so many other people have the exact same worries but do actually still have healthy babies, cos it feels like it will never happen! Still have no symptoms but am only 4+1 and am going on holiday in a week so hopefully that an xmas will take my mind off it for abit. Jus read the whole thread as recommended (took like 2 hours) and so sorry ickle to hear it's not going well after all uv been through with this, hope ur ok xx

BlackholesAndRevelations · 23/12/2013 07:22

Welcome alb! Grin

I did it! My baby girl was finally born yesterday. Poor thing is still nameless. So happy Smile

Tomkat79 · 23/12/2013 08:00

Yey! Congratulations black on birth of your daughter!

Welcome to the madness alb x

kjh5 · 23/12/2013 08:02

Congratulations Blackholes!!! How exciting, hope you are at home and getting ready to have an amazing Christmas with your lovely, squishy new addition Grin

Thanks so much Pixie I remember you talking about the benefits of reflexology earlier in the thread and I think I might give it a go in the New Year. I was going to say that my PGP isn't so bad that I am homebound - I had a work Christmas dinner on Friday, DH and I went out to a movie on Sat and last night were out again with friends, but then woke up this morning unable to walk - so I'm guessing, even although I wasn't racing around, I really can't be waddling about London anymore :(

Thankfully have a physio appointment lined up so I will see her again before Christmas, I hope she can get me back on my feet by the time we leave for the in-laws tomorrow! Also had a complete breakdown on Sat morning and DH has been much more helpful/understanding since then!

alb1 try not worry too much about a lack of symptoms. Quite a few people on this thread had largely symptom-less pregnancies and I think everyone else has had varying ones, from the occasional sore boob and an aversion to certain types of foods to full-on morning sickness and being unable to function! It totally depends on you and the baby and the lack of symptoms doesn't mean you aren't pregnant! Hope you are looking forward to a lovely Christmas break xx

bakingtins · 23/12/2013 08:05

congratulations blackholes ! How lovely to have a Christmas baby on the thread.

welcome Alb hope your stay here is a long and happy one.

thepiggotupandslowlywalkedaway · 23/12/2013 08:32

Hi Alb and congratulations! For what its worth, I didn't have many symptoms with my first 'un, and only a few more with the twins I've got going at the moment.

Pixie, will see about seeing if that helps my heartburn too.

Louzul · 23/12/2013 08:35

Hurrah! Lovely news black holes and welcome alb. I'm first trimester too 10+5 and these ladies have been amazing. They've been there, and as they know what we have been through they provide sanity when needed as well as lots of sympathy and handholding.
As others have said the mantra is 'today I am pregnant'. And to make little targets in your head. Eg my recent ones have been, get through work trip, get to 10 week scan, make it to holidays, now I'm making it to Christmas, then NY, then 12 week scan. Little targets!

May have to buy new jeans. It could be down to Christmas weight but I have to hold the button together with a hair tie!! Trying to avoid maternity clothes until post 12weeks!!

pumpkinsweetie · 23/12/2013 10:33

Wooo hooo black on the birth of your baby girlSmileSmileSmileThanksThanks

ChristineDaae · 23/12/2013 10:33

Happy Christmas Eve Eve all!!
Black congratulations. Perfect Christmas present Grin
Welcome alb, I'm nearing the end now and the ladies here have been amazing the whole way through. So happy I found this thread.

I'm shattered today, I'm staying with family and DP is due to join us tomorrow, however the wind is playing havoc with his travel plans so iv been up all night worrying and was booking a flight before 8am. He's now booked on 2 modes of transport, so hopefully one of them will go! I will be so gutted if he's not here to spend Xmas with us, and DD is so looking forward to seeing him, we've been away almost 2 weeks already.
Plus - totally selfishly, if he doesn't make it, I have to tackle the 5 hour (probably very rough) boat trip alone with a 36 week bump and 3yo DDHmm

lucyfluff · 23/12/2013 11:20

Awww congratulations black Grin what a lovely xmas present!! Let us know what you decide to call baby black...I love hearing newborn names !!!

Hi alb...im pretty new to thread too! Its nice to have somewhere to chat when you have a secret in rl and cant share worries at the moment! Dont worry abouy symptoms either, as someone already said everyone is different, I hardly had any with my first two pregnancies Smile

Whoop Whoop Blackholes, massive congratulations to you and your family on the birth of your daughter. You made it! And now the next part of the journey begins. Don't forget to join us on the graduate thread if you get the chance xxx

GuffSmuggler · 23/12/2013 14:03

Fantastic news blackholes!!!! WELL DONE YOU. Gives me such a boost everytime a gorgeous, healthy, snuggly newborn arrives on this thread. Enjoy those precious cuddles.

Welcome alb, really hope this is an easy, uneventful pregnancy for you.

Penguinita · 23/12/2013 15:52

Hi everyone, hope all your Christmas preparations are in hand Xmas Smile I've just about finished after a mad week. One Christmas party wiped me out for two days. I can't imagine how I will do all this next year with a baby in tow! Or how people wrap presents when they have a big bump.

Huge congratulations on your little girl blackholes, and on little baby Joss chocolate. Lovely Christmas babies, what fantastic presents!

Well done to everyone else that has had good scans, etc. It is a while since I posted so it is hard to list names.

Very sorry to hear your sad news ickle, hope you are doing okay.

Thanks for posting that link to the pelvic partnership kjh. I've saved it to my favourites. My hips are giving me some jip today after crouching on the floor wrapping presents for several hours.

Welcome alb1! Congrats on your bfp.

My current anxiety is that I haven't put any weight on yet (18 weeks) and I only have a very little bump. When is it usual for your bump to "pop" with your first?

Lieslvontrapp · 23/12/2013 15:53

Congrats blackholes on the arrival of your baby girl just in time for Christmas!

Welcome alb and congrats on your bfp!

alyant79 · 23/12/2013 19:17

Yay blackholes!
Have survived manic week and am now en route to heathrow for our move across the world!
DD is very excited about our move to austraya and going on a big blue (apparently, so I hope she isn't upset when it isn't blue). I just want to survive the flight with mini bean still inside... Remembering this time last year when I was exactly the same stage and so optimistic that of course everything would work out fine.
Small goals as you all keep saying :)

Merry Xmas everyone!!!!! Unlikely I'll be checking in again until we're in oz.

WhatWillSantaBring · 23/12/2013 19:38

Congrats blackholes I am not at all jealous sat here like a fat lump how wonderful- you will have a very special Christmas (I speak from exact experience, as my DC1 was due on Christmas Day and arrived three days early too.

So I've now decided I definitely don't want this one to arrive before Christmas. Which almost certainly means he will... Arggghhh!!

GuffSmuggler · 23/12/2013 21:18

Good luck alyant!! How exciting for you all x
