I have my 20 week scan in a couple of hours. Feeling surprisingly ok - I am feeling little wriggles most days (although it is sporadic) so that reassures me.

Congratulations to all the new mothers out there!

WhatWillSantaBring · 19/12/2013 20:17

Hurrah! Finally left work (at 38+5!!) though I ended up missing our Christmas party trying to finish work, AND a client got my personal number and called me on it for work this evening, cheeky little shit.

Still, now I'm entering a zen like state of denial calm and relaxation where I shall not worry about work for another six months.

If anyone updates the stats thread, can you remove vix and vocalista? They appear to have moved on

ChristineDaae · 19/12/2013 20:44

Saggy how awful! I'm sure everything is fine and you just had a useless sonagrapher!
Black - hope baby doesn't keep you much longer!
Blue skies congratulations on the good scan Grin
I'm exhausted after a lovely day out with my mum and DD... And have a whole day of shopping with MIL to look forward to tomorrowConfused

NerdyBird · 19/12/2013 20:48

Yay, lots of good scans and new babies!
Congrats to booty and chocolate for making it through to the other side!

Sorry your scan wasn't so great saggy hopefully you can get some sense out of someone when you speak to them.

Last day at work for me tomorrow, then 2 weeks off, culminating in 12 week scan. Have a teeny bit of light spotting, only the hyper-vigilant post-MCer would notice it. Hoping that's an end to it. My DP doesn't know this yet, but I've decided no more DTD till the scan. Just don't want to add to my worries if it's going to cause spotting. It's only a couple of weeks and I'll be away for one of them.

Pixielady83 · 19/12/2013 21:20

congratulations choc Thanks brilliant news that everything went smoothly and Joss is such a lovely name! Smile

brilliant to hear good scan news ladies Smile

saggy sorry yours was rubbish, that sounds worthy of a complaint IMO they're meant to explain what they're doing after all. Apart from that they sound plain rude!

last day at work finished before Christmas, phew. Disturbingly I have now grown out of a number of my maternity tops and dresses Confused not sure what I'll wear in the new year!

blackholes and santa hopefully not long for you now xx

Polka2 · 19/12/2013 21:25

Enormous congratulations to graduates booty and chocolate! GrinGrin

Baking great scan news!Wink

Saggy so sorry your awash with fury and confusion I hope someone can clarify what was happening for you.

Welcome to all the newbies and all other ladies (sorry not to name check all). Nerdy maybe a rain check on DTD might help ease off the spotting.

I've got my 20 wk scan on Xmas eve and feeling quite scared, I don't think I've felt any movements and am having a RMC neurosis about it all Confused even though my bump keeps on growing, crazy lady!

Tomkat79 · 19/12/2013 22:09

That was me yesterday polka...so scared I almost cancelled! Sure all is well. My little madam has been moving loads since the scan!!

BlackholesAndRevelations · 20/12/2013 08:27

Thanks ladies! Had a few contractions this morning but nothing since! Didn't expect stop/start labour for my third baby Hmm

Saggy- rubbish sonographers. Sorry you're in a bit of limbo, is there anyone you can call for some clarity/an explanation? Midwife maybe? Did they write anything in your notes?

GardenWorm · 20/12/2013 08:36

Ooh, hope they've started again Blackholes! Will be thinking of you Smile

Pixielady83 · 20/12/2013 10:11

good luck blackholes! Smile

BlackholesAndRevelations · 20/12/2013 11:43

Aw thanks ladies but still nothing much to report Sad pretty sure I'll be pregnant for at least another week! However I feel quite relaxed today luckily, and not too guilty about sitting watching daytime tv (kids at nursery for a few hours) Grin

icklemssunshine · 20/12/2013 12:42

Hi ladies,

Looks like I'll be leaving you. Have had cramping all night & started bleeding this morning. Have got a scan this afternoon but I'm not holding out much hope.

Wishing you all the best x

Sconeintheoven · 20/12/2013 13:12

Ickle I am so so sorry to hear that.
I would say that you still have hope but I know that hope is a dangerous thing and you need to prepare yourself. I am crossing everything for you though x

alicebear · 20/12/2013 14:12

oh no ickle I'm really really sorry to hear that. I'm glad you don't have to wait too long for your scan and have everything crossed for you. Thinking of you. I hope you get some good news.

saggy sorry to hear about your awful scan experience. I can't believe how insensitive some sonographers can be.

blueskies and tomkat great news on your scans. Yay for a pink tomcat!

Congratulations chocolate lovely news hope it's going well.

blackholes hope you don't have to wait too long. I can sympathise with going overdue my DD was 18 days late.

lucyfluff · 20/12/2013 14:21

Sorry to hear your news ickle Sad hope you are ok x

Black - good luck for when it happens, I also had a very stop/start labour with DS3 and my MW said they were reknowned for being difficult!!! A lovely treat at the end though Smile

alyant79 · 20/12/2013 14:47

Lieslvontrapp · 20/12/2013 17:30

Congrats choc on the arrival of your baby boy. Another fast labour is great.

Blackholes hope things get going for u soon in time for Christmas.

ickle so very sorry. Hope it's not what you think.

Pentagon · 20/12/2013 18:05

hi ladies, I haven't checked the thread for a while: stomach bug, relatives visiting, pre-Christmas rush (and stress) I've missed so much!

booty and choc many congratulations on the arrival of your babies! Great names, I hope you're all doing well!

pig, emki, tom and blue great scan news!

medusa glad the operation went well, you must be back home now?

ickle I truly hope it's not what you fear - thinking of you.

anglo I hope you had good news at your 20-week scan

baking I'm so excited to hear you're 16 weeks now, I remember you leaving the thread a few months ago and now you're nearly half way through your pregnancy - so happy for you!

santa yay for being off work! Hopefully not long for you now - same for black

pixie Elsie's doing well, thanks for asking! Annoyingly enough, DD1 is making me more tired than the baby...for some reason she doesn't want to sleep lately (I'm sure it has to do with the baby's arrival), someone has to be in the room with her when she goes to bed and she wakes up in the middle of the night wanting cuddles. But other than that she's lovely and very excited about Christmas, just like your DD! Did you say yours is 3 yrs old? Mine will be 3 at the beginning of February. How is your pregnancy coming along? Are you feeling OK?

alice, I had heard DD1's heartbeat at my 16-week appointment but this time we didn't hear DD2's at 16 weeks. Needless to say, it caused me a great deal of stress and I wished I hadn't asked the midwife to look for it. I had an anterior placenta both times but with DD1 it was low while with DD2 high, which probably blocked the sound

saggy what a crap sonographer, you have every right to be annoyed. I hope you get some answers when you speak to the screening midwife

polka all the best for your scan on Xmas eve. I'm sure you'll have good news and one more reason to celebrate this Christmas.

kjh glad the physio appointment has helped and you're feeling a lot better

a big welcome to our newbies and good luck with your move back to Australia aly

hi to everyone else Smile

Emki · 20/12/2013 21:14

Hello ladies

haven't logged on for a couple of days and so many things have been going on.

ickle I have everything crossed for you {{{{hugs}}}} and holding your hand very tightly xxxxx

congratulations on the new thread babies - hope you are getting all cosy with new babies.

Can't believe santa is almost there, you started the TTC thread when i joined it in March.

saggy so sorry your sonographer was rubbish - I have had a couple too who had absolutely no sense of how I was feeling and the reassurance we need with our histories - hope you manage to get some answers soon.

pentagon glad all going well, sorry your DD is the one keeping you up!

baking so fantastic you are 16wks - just great - you are the one that invited me to join the TTC thread all that time ago and now look at us!

Aly do you remember when I shared that dream I had about you throwing a party and we all came and we all had bumps ..... it feels like the dream is coming true (not the bit of you throwing a party for all us obviously).

how you doing due date partners? emberlina & penguin?

GuffSmuggler · 20/12/2013 21:19
