Yay alyant!!! Fantastic to see you here Grin Really hope this is the smoothest easiest pregnancy for you.

saggy third trimester has hit here with a vengeance too, I'm waddling, shuffling and lumbering around. I definitely wasn't like this with DS until much later, my body is obviously shot.

Fabulous news on the scan kjh boys are wonderful, mine was giving me such lovely cuddles in bed this morning it was heaven.

Welcome mabel and alice good to see you back here Grin

MissMedusa · 13/12/2013 12:01

Congratulations Alice and Alyant and welcome to the thread. Alice I'm a bit sceptical about going off progesterone at 12 weeks. Everything I've read says it's ok but all my incompetent cervix issues started I went off it at 14 weeks and now I'm back on because, ironically, progesterone suppositories are suppoed to help with cervix length. I was on a fairly high dose as well at 2x1 3 times a day (300mg I think) so that might have affected it as well. I think, sometimes if you supplement too much the body gets lazy and then doesn't produce enough on it's own. It may just be me and I likely would have had problems anyway so take it with a grain of salt but I did want to mention it. Maybe have your cervix length checked just in case.

Kjh5 congratulations on your scan, that all sounds very positive. I know exactly how you feel as I felt the same way when they told me I was having a boy. DH is over the moon as he can see his rugby dreams dancing before his eyes but I'm all dresses and makeup and girl things and have no idea what I'm going to do with a little boy. Don't they pee everywhere? ;-) I'm excited too though a boy will wonderful and while both sexes have their own issues to deal with, there are certain difficulties that we women all go through that he will never have to face and that makes me happy. Not to mention, relevant to this thread, he will never have to experience, first hand, what it is like to have a miscarriage and that I am glad of too. I did threaten DH that I may still buy some of those frilly bum tights that he can wear underneath his rugby jersey. He, in turn, threatened divorce.

ChristineDaae · 13/12/2013 12:17

Mabel, Aly and Alice- congratulations on your BFPs. Alice so glad it's all going well this time!
Pixie, it's much better now thank you. Being signed off was definitely the right move.
Kjh - massive congratulations on the good scan! And a boy too. How lovely Grin

Emki · 13/12/2013 12:28

aly a huge congratulations! I'm so happy for you! I think of you so much and have been lurking on the TTC thread to see how everyone is doing - we're here to hold your hand!

I've been away for the last week or so - so busy at work and home, haven't quite caught up on everyone's news - only a brief look - but hope you have a good MW apt penguin mine is next Wednesday ... along with another reassurance scan - hope I'll feel more positive after the 20 wk scan- ...

Anyway will ready through the thread and catch up

Emki · 13/12/2013 12:30

kjh5 excellent news! big hugs to you

Emki · 13/12/2013 12:44

alicebear congratulations! I remember you from the TTC thread too. Well done on getting through the 12 wk scan. I'm 16 weeks now and still anxious but feel the best way is to take each day at a time. I also try to remember that the risk of mc is very low after 12wks. Whenever you feel you're freaking out then come on here and there will always be someone who can reassure you as they have been or are going through the same thing out to hold hand]]]]

Emki · 13/12/2013 12:44

mable congratulations to you!

Chocolateteabag · 13/12/2013 14:37

Great scan news everyone and vv happy to see new faces joining the thread - Thanks congratulations on your BFP's!!

Miss and KJH - boys are great - just watch out for the weeing in your face - took me a few days to get the hang of that Grin

Still here - still nothing happening (and really thought Friday the 13th would be it for me!) have collapsed on sofa with Ds to watch Cbeebies. Need to not let this be it for the day but I think that it is

OP posts:
ChristineDaae · 13/12/2013 14:41

Chocolate, a day of cbeebies won't hurt! When are you due? I know it's soon or has it passed already?

alyant79 · 13/12/2013 15:01

thanks for the warm welcome.
really feel very anxious and getting worse by the minute hour.

Mabelandrose · 13/12/2013 15:15

Thank you for the lovely welcome. Trying not to think about being pregnant (as if that's possible) and just focus on Christmas.

Chocolateteabag · 13/12/2013 15:22

Due on Monday (16th), have sneaking suspicion I'm getting a Christmas baby Hmm
Ds has been at preschool this morning and we've made crispy cakes and jelly after lunch, so not too bad. May have to brave it outside for a little bit now though just to burn off some more energy (his - I have none!)

Be strong Aly - a BFP is a BFP,if it helps check out the HPT galleries on Fertility Friend website and obsess on mn Grin

Hi alyant I remember you from the ttc thread! So pleased you've got your bfp!

Welcome back alice! 12 wks already is great,

Welcome mabel and any other newbies I've not said hello to.

Kjh5 great scan news and lovely that you're having a boy!

Chocolate not long until your due date. Things could kick off anytime - how exciting!

Penguinita · 13/12/2013 18:11

Oh I'm so EXCITED at all this wonderful news today!

Big welcome hugs to alyant and alicebear, I remember you both from the TTC board, so good to have you with us. Hoorah for Christmas BFPs (and good luck with secretly avoiding alcohol over the next few weeks, eek) ! Grin

And great news on the scan kjh, hope you got some lovely pics of your little boy.

My midwife appointment was a bit of a mixed bag. The main thing is I got to listen to baby's heartbeat and she said it was good and strong, so all good there Smile. But it was a midwife I hadn't had before and she was a bit scatty, waffling on about all sorts, so much that I forgot to tell her about my pelvic pains. And when I got home I found she had put someone else's blood test results in my notes along with mine. Also, my Downs syndrome risk is 1 in 500, which I know is low, but I was expecting it to be a bit lower given my small NT measurement. Small things, I know. I just hope I get a different midwife next time!

Welcome to mabel alice and aly and congratulations all round!

KJH good news! My DS2 wants a yellow princess dress for Christmas so you may still get to indulge yourself with all things girls, but boys are fab.

alice I was on progesterone (plus steroids and clexane) and stopped at 12 weeks. It was a bit nerve wracking but has been ok. The placenta should be producing enough by then. I haven't had any incompetent cervix issues in previous pregnancies so that wasn't a worry in my case.

Emki · 13/12/2013 19:44

penguin its so hard when everything does go exactly how you want - but the wrong bloods it pretty rubbish ... have you called up the hospital?
But its good news! strong heart beat and a low risk downs result!

I felt rubbish after my 12 wk scan because the sonographer and no personality at all - not particularly reassuring considering my past and also the baby wasn't in a good position to get a picture - so I felt totally empty - however you heard a good strong heart beat - that is the only thing that really matters, hold on to that and not the rubbish stuff must do the same

Emki · 13/12/2013 20:46

sorry quite a few typos! I meant 'its hard when things DON'T go exactly as wanted' - there's some more mistakes too - hope you can muster through - long week! x

ChristineDaae · 13/12/2013 21:11

Penguin, sorry about the rubbish midwife!

Horrible news here - my nephews mum (brothers ex) had a MC with twins a few months ago. She has just called from hospital, she had an ectopic and they have had to remove a tube. Feel so bad for her Sad

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 13/12/2013 22:23

I was just thinking, wasn't it CBeebies who was worried she was going into very early labour? Anyone heard from her? You out there CBeebies? are you ok?

Pentagon · 14/12/2013 00:01

kjh wonderful news! Congratulations and yay for team blue! You can now relax, enjoy the rest of your pregnancy and start shopping for the baby! Grin scone also congratulations on your good scan! aly, alice and mabel welcome and congratulations! All the best for your pregnancies! pixie I think the baby still has plenty of room at 28 weeks so try not to stress too much (easier said than done, I know!)
