SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 12/12/2013 13:15

Do you have lots of tests left? Could you maybe offer to post them to someone on the TTC thread? Get them out of the house?

Pixielady83 · 12/12/2013 14:41

good luck kjh excited to hear what you are having!

ladies who are just 'off' food this is how my ms always starts! good sign Grin

blueskies19 · 12/12/2013 15:05

good point saggy - best place for them to be out of the house - keep very sadly looking at the faded hardly there lines compared to the strong lines before and its heartbreaking

pleased that being "off" food is a good sign - thanks Pixie - I was one and I think ickle too - Ive been off my food for the last two days - Im now only today able to eat absolute rubbish which is totally unlike me as Im normally very healthy but the only food I can stomach and eat is white (haven't had that since I was a kid!) toast with ALOT of very unhealthy butter and crisps - my nutrition has gone out the window but its either eat total rubbish or nothing at all so I figure something is better than nothing

having a lot of cramping and quite intense lower back pain too now - a little bit well alot worrying with the faint test lines this morning that is not good :(

Pixielady83 · 12/12/2013 15:37

lower back pain and cramping could well the pregnancy bedding in blue I had bad lower back ache with my first pregnancy, well before any of sore boobs etc. I'm with you on the stodge, I went back onto food in my second trimester but now I'm bigger I just really want pie. or Macdonalds or turkey sandwiches. And I'm a vegetarian Blush

If you can put your feet up and have a rest this pm do so and hopefully cramps will ease off but do try to think positively, your uterus has a lot of stretching and lining to do to get your bean comfy xx

Pixielady83 · 12/12/2013 15:41

christine and choc forgot to say thanks for your thoughts on position. Trying to allow myself to take a more accepting stance of c section. Although knowing my luck I'll plan for a section, then baby will turn and I'll be thrown into vbac without a chance to emotionally prepare myself. I have such a skewed attitude to all of this, even though I should have learnt from last time that it really really doesn't matter as long as there is a healthy baby at the end (and the mc should have reinforced this) I still want to do 'well' and have a good birth. As if I'll get a flipping girl guide badge at the end of it(!) must refocus priorities!!!

christine hope your hips and pelvis are feeling better now you're off work?

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 12/12/2013 16:09

My MS only consisted of being nauseous and off my food. And I only ate white food for weeks! Bread, potatoes, cheese...
These are all good signs. Smile

blueskies19 · 12/12/2013 20:11

thanks so much pixie and saggy - reassuring to hear my consumption of white carbs is a good sign :)
bring on the white toast, butter and cream cheese - Ive not consumed any fruit or veg which can't be good but figure some food is better than none!

thanks for confirming about lower back pain - reassuring to hear that too - phew :)

Mabelandrose · 12/12/2013 20:15

Please can I join - very early days for me. Mmc and ERPC in September. Must only be 4 weeks now. A long wait ahead.

icklemssunshine · 12/12/2013 20:37

What is it with those white carbs? I've eaten a plate of crumpets for tea!

Welcome mabel. I'm 6 weeks today and would've gone crazy these last 2 weeks without this thread!

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 12/12/2013 21:10

In fact, I have a confession to make. I still fancy loads of white carbs. Sad The mere thought of a vegetable turns my stomach! Blush Confused

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 12/12/2013 21:11

Welcome Mabel.

Angloamerican · 12/12/2013 21:37

blueskies I normally eat quite well (try to follow the principles of the Paleo plan where I can) but for the entire first trimester I craved white, processed carbohydrates. I don't think I ate a vegetable or a piece of fruit in that entire time...

Penguinita · 12/12/2013 22:17

Welcome mabel, congratulations on your bfp, hope this thread can help you get through those nerve-wracking first few weeks.

I think a love of beige food is very common in the first trimester! Just at the time when all the advice is to eat lots of fruit and veg too.

I have my 16 week midwife appointment tomorrow where I will get to find out all my blood test results in detail, brilliant, I love medical stats Grin Hopefully I'll also get a chance to listen to Pingu's heartbeat.

I got some some of reassurance about my potential redundancy at a HR maternity Q&A session this week. They wouldn't definitively say that those on mat leave would not get made redundant earlier (the amount of HR speak was driving us all crazy!) but they did say they wouldn't positively discriminate against us.

Best of luck to everyone with upcoming scans!

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 12/12/2013 22:57

Well, today I hit the third trimester and God has the third trimester hit me!
I've been feeling sick since yesterday, heartburn has arrived, the bottom of my bump hurts, I feel really stuffed and generally achey. Sad
Combine that with the baby going bonkers in there, and feeling really weepy and im a mess!
I'm going to monitor the aches tomorrow and see how I feel. I might have a chat with a midwife. Its typical that I feel shit when I have to work! The Christmas rush starts tomorrow. Sad

BirdsDoIt · 13/12/2013 09:32

Oh saggy yay and not yay all at the same time! Hope you feel better rather than worse at the day goes on. I've been getting inexplicable weepy attacks and once I start I just can't stop - part of my brain can see how absurd it all is, while the rest of me is busy wailing!!

When does the third trimester officially start? I'm 24 weeks on Saturday and wondered how long I've got until then...yesterday I realised I couldn't bend over properly and the day before that I realised my belly button was starting to disappear!

kjh is your 20 week scan today? If so good luck! And penguinita hope your mw appt goes well.

Welcome mabel and other newbies. This is the best thread ever for support during those agonisingly slow first 12 weeks - and then all those that come after xx

BirdsDoIt · 13/12/2013 09:35

And I'm totally with you all on the white/beige food. A bowl of pasta with just a bit of butter, olive oil, salt and pepper...mmm...plants face in pasta bowl...

alyant79 · 13/12/2013 09:51

hello, tentatively sticking my foot in here. hope i'm not jinxing myself.

12/13 dpo today (which is late for me as my lp is usually 10 days) and a faint pos test on wednesday, another faint test (but a bit darker) today.
eeeek!!!!

fully convinced that it isn't going to end well, but excited to at least get a bfp, 10 long cycles after mmc...

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 13/12/2013 09:54

ALY!!!! hooray! Grin Grin Grin

Birds 27 weeks according to my App. officially 13 weeks left but we could have only 10!! Shock

MissMedusa · 13/12/2013 09:56

Me too, I usually avoid carbs like the plague because I'm overweight and it seems like the only thing I have an appetite for. Fruit is ok and I try to force down some veg but meat is right out unless it's cut really small and hidden in a sauce. Strangely, I've been eating loads of things that are usually on my "no list" and I haven't put on any weight (at 17+3 although I'm sure it will start soon). I eat chocolate now, cake, chips, pizza, pasta all things I never allow myself to eat and weight has never been so stable. One thing I noticed though is that I get full quite quickly and I stop when I'm full. Before, I would never really get full signals and could carry on eating for as long as I liked. I also find that I'm either starving or full, I don't have that "meh, I'm not that hungry but I could eat" stage that I'm usually in.

Yay aly so please you've got another BFP today :) keeping everything crossed for you and sending you lots of good luck xxx Smile

alicebear · 13/12/2013 10:30

Hello ladies can I rejoin you please? I said a brief hello here in July but only a few days later had my 2nd mc at about 7 wks. (had mmc in April)
I got my bfp in Oct but have been scared to tempt fate esp as I had a massive bleed at 5+3 but luckily things have worked out OK so far & I've just had my 12 wk scan & all looks fine & low risk. Have been using cyclogest & high dose folic acid. Very happy to have got this far but still can't relax. When did others start to feel more confident things might be ok?

Aly I remember you from the ttc thread so big congratulations & really hope this one sticks for you.

Fedup I'm so so sorry to hear what's happened to you. Hope you have lots of support through such a crappy time.

Over & ickle & blueskies I was where you are not so long ago & time crawls. Just try & take it a day at a time. I had 3 early scans because of the early bleed so never looked beyond the next scan.

Congratulations to all who've recently had their babies it is lovely to hear of the happy endings.

Saggy I also remember you from the ttc thread. Third trimester already - great news. Hope you start to feel better.

Can I just ask if anyone has been on cyclogest is it really fine to just stop at 12 wks? I'm scared to. I'm 12+4 and have dropped from 2 to 1 a day. Consultant said stop at 12 weeks - will it be OK?

Sorry for such a long rambling msg. I hope this time I don't have to disappear in a few days time!

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 13/12/2013 10:50

Only one difference between this and ttc is you have to step away from the tests now! Grin

kjh5 · 13/12/2013 11:32

Phew! Just had the scan and everything is fabulous! Thanks so so much (as usual) for all being so wonderfully supportive and just damn amazing Grin Grin Grin. I have no idea what I would have done without you lot over the past five months.

We had a fabulous sonographer who talked us through everything he was doing and was just so wonderful and reassuring I wanted to hug him. AND we're having a boy! So I was totally wrong on the girl front. Although DH pointed out that whenever I have spoken about the baby I have always said 'him' and never once referred to 'her'. I have to admit, as soon as the bubba popped up on the screen I thought: 'it's a boy' followed by: 'ohshit what am I going to do with a boy?!' which is silly because its mostly just a baby when it is born!

I don't know what to do with myself now! I had a little cry when the sonographer told us it was a boy and I feel relieved but also realised it is now just a 19 week waiting game! I think I am waiting for the excitement to kick in but I mostly just feel a bit bewildered. I suppose DH and I could get shopping now, we haven't bought a single thing for the bubba yet :)

Welcome Mabel and Alice! And yay Aly - I remember you from the ttc thread, so happy you are all here. Today you are pregnant Grin
