Can I ask some probably very stupid questions please? My first baby is due in February and I've been wondering about the following things, but I am too embarrassed to ask anyone in real life as I feel I should just know these things.......

Formula feeding - does anyone know what milk they use in hospitals. If I use something different when I get home will it upset my baby's tummy?

How soon after baby is born do you give their first bottle? Is it straightaway?

Do they bath the baby in hospital?

How often do newborns need their nappy changed, and when do you do it - before or after a feed?

Thanks in advance.....

Haha gin that reminds me of the time me and DH took his 2 yo old niece out for the day. We had her from 10 - 4 and had a great day. We returned her to SIL - she was fed, watered, smiling, no obvious injuries, we had done well! Or so we thought. Apparently we should have changed her nappy at some point as she was wet. Fail.

I am not sure all formulas are the same...I may be wrong but I read up online alot and saw that a majority of babies didnt get on too well with sma.. I read that aptamil was the best however, I recently found out that apparently cow&gate and aptamil are the sameEnvy ....to be honest it's really whatever your baby gets on with best. Sofia has been to aptamil and gets on with it well so iam reluctant to change it..health visitor who visited mw recently said it was the best ff for baby.

I think they all have similar ingredients just different amounts of certain ones...again I could be wrong.

fyi I also expect the hospital to provide formula and if they dont to at least tell you beforehand not just spring it on you like they did to me after my baby hadnt fed for over 24 hours..I was not impressed one iotaEnvy
