Hi everyone,

This thread is for all you incessant worriers out there, not necessarily limited to IVF-ers, although I get the feeling the people who have had trouble TTC are more prone to worrying than others!

OP posts:

Congratulations and welcome macksie. You will feel less anxious with each milestone you pass, and feeling the baby move is the most reassuring. Please do join us. My baby had been active almost all day, which is lovely, though a bit distracting at work!

Dildals · 16/12/2013 19:41

I think Sweetie may have some NEWS!! (I understand from da facebooks)

MotorcycleMama · 16/12/2013 20:13

I can't see a new post on FB - please share Smile

keepitgoing · 16/12/2013 20:49

It's someone we don't know who's said congrats to her...

MrsHY1 · 16/12/2013 21:27

Hello
Just checking in to say I'm still alive- feeling quite battle-weary with around the clock 1-2 hourly feeding but in relatively good (although knackered) spirits! Trying to grab some sleep whenever I can take it which unfortunately has eaten into my mumsnet posting time!
Saw a great health visitor this morning who have me some strategies to try out as we think the little one is only properly feeding for 10 mins or so, then getting too comfy and falling asleep on the job. Thus she goes down with me thinking she's sated but then she wakes up famished an hour later.
Anyhow, am looking out for new baby news (squeal!!) and am thinking of all of you (when I'm capable of thinking of anything other than sleep! Zzzzzzzzzzz) xx

MotorcycleMama · 16/12/2013 21:31

Oh, I'm just being impatient! Looking forward to hearing from sweetie and gin.

Shazzamattazzerly · 16/12/2013 23:45

Hello everyone

Nice list keep. Im impressed that you remember all the details. I understand about having a new thread although I do feel sad at the idea. As long as you don't all dessert me I'm happy to post anywhere. I can't do this without you lot Grin

Hmm re cranial osteopathy. I understand the sentiment that its quackery. However I have experienced results and seen results in others and therefore praise this particular therapist. I trapped a nerve between my ribs a couple of years ago during a coughing fit. It was extremely painful and my friend released it and thus freed me from the pain in a few moments. Anyway it is very gentle and shazlett seemed to like it. I am however very lucky in that I didn't have to pay.

I haven't checked Fb today. Fingers crossed that sweetie's twins and the Ginster all arrived safe and sound.

Onion love the list of xmassy names. I notice that Nora is listed Grin. There are some fine names there Noks. Although nothing can beat Santa!

We ventured out to have coffee with the Nct group today. I felt very pleased with myself except then I started to compare myself and my recovery with the other girls. They are a week behind me and seem to be doing much better. I'm wondering if I'm being a baby about the discomfort that I'm feeling and do I need to man up?

Fairy how was the nativity?

MrsH glad you are doing ok. I had the same problem with shazlett falling asleep. I had to keep waking her up mid feed. She is much better now. I do break off the feed though to wind her cause she suffers really badly from trapped wind bless her. Looking forward to a sarf London meet up in the new year.

Hope everyone had a good day. Tomorrow DP is at work and I will be sole guardian of shazlett. I've got sarnies made in the fridge and homemade soup ready to be heated up so I won't starve at least. Hopefully we will have a lovely girly day watching my box set of must see musicals.

Well madam is finally rocked asleep. DP is snoring and time for me to hit the hay. See you in a while....

Shazzamattazzerly · 17/12/2013 07:39

Sweetie's twins are on Fb!!!

OnionRing · 17/12/2013 07:49

Gah - wish I could see!

I saw her name there shazza. It wouldn't have stuck me as immediately festive but it's nice that it is!

Ringlet vommed up her bedtime bottle again last night! I don't know what to dooooo! Give her less I suppose but she takes the same amount during the night with no problems. So much washing!

Shazzamattazzerly · 17/12/2013 08:11

Oh dear. I know what you mean abiut the washing. I got my first bit of baby sick on my clothes yesterday. Along with most of my dinner that I managed to sort of eat with one hand!

The DTs are very cute. Hopefully Sweetie will put a pic up, I'll PM you their names. If I can guess your taste at this point I think you will approve Smile

Dildals · 17/12/2013 12:24

Does anyone know whether Gin is OK?

Shazzamattazzerly · 17/12/2013 12:35

I texted her but haven't heard anything. I'm hoping she is in the baby bubble by now.

MrsHY1 · 17/12/2013 12:35

Not heard a peep Dildals.
Thx for the words of encouragement Shazz- good to know they can grow out of being slow coach feeders! And for what it's worth, I don't think you should be either comparing yourself to other nct mummies or telling yourself to man up. All of us, and all of our babies, are individuals and we're all having our own lovely and challenging experiences at our own paces. You're doing great Grin

keepitgoing · 17/12/2013 12:41

Mine eats fast, short and often...

Induction can tale several days...

Shazzamattazzerly · 17/12/2013 16:16

I've had news! Ginster arrived yesterday midday. I'll let Gin tell you all about it in her own time but mum and baby are fine and probably going home tomorrow she said. GrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrin

fairypangolin · 17/12/2013 16:17

mrs I found undressing Pangolina so she was a bit cold helped to wake her up when she nodded off mid-feed. At 8 weeks she occasionally now indulges in a 'boob snooze' as I like to think of it but it's pretty quick.

shazza did the other women at NCT have a prolonged labour followed by induction and an EMCS? That is a really tough combo. These experiences are so individual there really is no point in compariing yourself. Just look at the MN threads on things like cervical sweeps. For some women they are excrutiating, they cry through them and say they are in agony for days afterward. For me it was easier than having my teeth cleaned. It must be partly subjective experience and partly your circumstances (eg how 'ripe' your cervix is, how gentle the midwife is) Besides, the other women could well be feeling absolutely knackered inside but are hiding it for the sake of putting on a brave face.

Oh god, Pangolina is crying again. Why won't she just have a nap for goodness sakes!

Shazzamattazzerly · 17/12/2013 17:22

Hi fairy

One had an elcs and the other induction and emcs. I know you are right, it's just hard not to compare.

Hope pangolina calms down. Funnily enough shazlett is quiet so far this evening but DP isn't here and we've had a very quiet day together. This is her 3rd sleep on my chest. I haven't put her down today except to make lunch or go to the loo.

keepitgoing · 17/12/2013 17:30

Grin for gin

shaz I think if kip does less in the day she is calmer and sleeps better too. Result, she just had a 1.5 hour nap I'm Moses basket, put down while sleepy but not yet asleep!! I agree don't bother to compare, it depends on so many things, and you're doing v well now, no?

eurochick · 17/12/2013 17:37

Hurrah for the Ginster's arrival! :)
