Hi everyone,

This thread is for all you incessant worriers out there, not necessarily limited to IVF-ers, although I get the feeling the people who have had trouble TTC are more prone to worrying than others!

OP posts:

shazza - I don't have time to respond properly to everyone's very interesting and wise comments but I do need to tell you what an absolutely beautiful little girl you have! Plus she has the best baby hair I've ever seen! (She totally suits her name too.)

Shazzamattazzerly · 06/12/2013 15:04

Thanks onion (swells with pride). I tried to put up more pics but couldn't get more than one uploaded. Everytime I put up a new pic the previous one disappeared. Hope you got some sleep last night.

Sweetie hehe at the exit only. Can't wait to see your twins. I hope you are enjoying the reflexology.

Keep have you had a nap yet? I haven't managed it yet but I going to this aftie. We have just registered shazlett so she is official now. 2 other milestones I breastfed out of the house and also changed her in a loo Smile
Anyone heard from foody? I hope she is ok. Also we haven't heard from madness lately.

keepitgoing · 06/12/2013 15:35

Half an hour shaz :( thank god its nearly the weekend.

Shazzamattazzerly · 06/12/2013 19:39

I managed a hour this afternoon and I did not want to wake up! On a positive note I only cried once today

MotorcycleMama · 07/12/2013 08:32

Sorry for gross post at this time in the morning, but can I ask if people have generally found that they have more vaginal discharge when pregnant? I certainly am, and it is generally watery, to the point I am now wearing panty liners regularly. I have a nagging worry though - might it be amniotic fluid? I know this sounds daft.

OnionRing · 07/12/2013 09:12

motor no such thing as either gross or TMI here. Yes I had that and relied on panty liners throughout. I asked my consultant and she said it was hormonal and it served the purpose of making it less likely that germs get up your fanjo.

shazza I'm sure crying once a day is 'normal'. I more or less do that! I'm on my phone and can't scroll back but good to have those GP appointments set up.

Blissful 12 hours of sleep here. Three hour lie in but after taking Ringlet back in with us we all slept all night except she woke for a quick bottle at 1am. After all the sleep battles if the past two weeks I think we're both exhausted.

SweetieTime · 07/12/2013 09:48

motor I am the same. I use the thin daily liners. I think it has got worse through the pregnancy.

onions woo hoo for the extreme amount of sleep. I am so pleased for you all. hopefully you feel more human today.

Shazzamattazzerly · 07/12/2013 13:18

Motor I definitely had lots of discharge. As long as it isn't a funny colour or smell I think you are fine. I got through loads of liners. Much like I'm getting through the thick pads now.

Onion hurrah for 12 hours! My goodness. If anyone deserves that you do. I hope a corner has been turned.

I feel better today. Although I always feel better in the mornings. It's harder when I get to the evening and I'm tired. As I type shazlett is sleeping on me. I don't want to put her down. I feel that I want to cuddle her. It's good for both of us.

Have a good weekend everyone. X

Dildals · 07/12/2013 14:06

Definitely get those cuddles in shazz

keep and shaz so funny my DH is exactly the same, every time she cries he's 'is she hungry?'. I have explained to him now that babies do cry for other reasons too. He truly learned his lesson though after looking after for an afternoon and he basically overfed her. Every time she cried, he gave her food. Later that day she did a massive spray paint vomit all over his cashmere jumper, the carpet and herself.... :-)

keepitgoing · 07/12/2013 21:44

Grin dildals... Though poor Bella!

Shazzamattazzerly · 07/12/2013 23:58

Oh dear. Poor Bella!!

OnionRing · 08/12/2013 00:35

Haha at spray painting his cashmere. My DH gets annoyed by having to keep putting his hoodies in the wash. I have taught him how to sponge a bit of sick / snot / drool off them.

shazza cuddles are what keep you going. I'm glad we've given up on the sleep training for now as I get to cuddle her all night which has been our norm since birth. I know it will have to change but for now it keeps me and her happy.

We've been out for dinner a deux for the first time in well over a year. It was great! We had champagne and spent a fortune but was worth it. Still back before midnight though.

Shazzamattazzerly · 08/12/2013 04:30

A champagne dinner - lovely Grin. It's good to take the pressure off although you do need to sleep.

Here I am in the dead of night. Shazlett is milk drunk over my shoulder and I'm thinking of all the mothers all over the world doing what in doing now.

So is it Noks, Gin and sweetie up next? Shall we take bets on whether Noks is harbouring a Viking god or a Saxon princess? Xx

keepitgoing · 08/12/2013 06:51

onion that sounds lovely :)

shaz that's a nice thought, isn't it?

So dh doing the midnight expresses bottle meant I slept 10-2.30!!! Amazing :)

Shazzamattazzerly · 08/12/2013 09:36

That's brilliant keep when did you start expressing and introduce a bottle?

Also what's this dream feeding that I keep hearing about?

SweetieTime · 08/12/2013 12:20

Onions Envy of your champagne dinner, it sounds lovely

Shazza how are you feeling love? The image of Shalette milk drunk on your shoulder is so lovely. As Onions says these are the things to keep you going.

Dildals I have told DH to wear only easy to wash items when looking after DTs. There is no way I will be encouraging cashmere wearing with a new born, unless he is willing to deal with the consequences.

Nothing to report here, still counting down to the forced eviction - 8 days to go!!

keepitgoing · 08/12/2013 12:41

This was the second bottle shaz, first at midnight. We had no issues. My book says 3-4 weeks is a good time to introduce a bottle, so long as bf is going well

Good point on cashmere sweetie, and yes, why was he wearing it dildals.

My money is on gin to sneak in before sweetie. Good luck ladies!.

keepitgoing · 08/12/2013 12:41

Dh's favourite phrase right now is 'milk drunk* :)

Dildals · 08/12/2013 17:37

my DH LIVES in cashmere jumpers, he will not wear anything else. Normally it's fine, a bit of drool or milk posset can be wiped off or is caught by the many muslins that float around the house. The occasional projectile vomit however ...

On another note I had an alkie help with my pram the other day. He told me to hold his beer can and plastic bag and carried it down the steps!:-)

OnionRing · 08/12/2013 18:30

Wait until Bella is weaning. He may want to rethink the cashmere then...

We say 'smacked up on milk'. It's a lovely, lovely thing, especially when they groan with pleasure.

Dream feeding is when you don't wait for the baby to wake but lift them up and feed them anyway in the hope they'll sleep longer. I used to do it with dd1 as she'd wake naturally at 1am for a feed, but if I dream fed her at 11 when I went to bed she's sleep through until 5. It doesn't work with all babies but if it does it makes life a bit easier.

I'm slightly regretting the night out now. We've both been zombies all day.

fairypangolin · 08/12/2013 20:05

It's "munted on milk" round here. It is wonderful how happy it makes them. I just have to start lifting my jumper and Pangolina starts wriggling in delight.

shazza I LOVE Shazlett's hair! She looks straight out of some hipster bar in Shoreditch.

onion well done on the dinner out! You enjoy it a lot more when it's such an unusual event IMHO.

keep great news that the expressed bottle worked so well. Getting a few straight hours of sleep really makes a difference.

My DH also is guilty of handing her back to me and saying "I think she's hungry". Of course by the time she's cried for so long I've given up and handed her to him and then he's given up and handed her back to me she IS hungry because she's been screaming for so long she's worked up an appetite.

On a bit of a tangent, can I just announce that my DS ate aubergine curry for dinner tonight and pronounced it yummy. I'm still in a state of shock. I didn't dare say anything at dinner though in case I tipped him off that he isn't "supposed" to like it.

Ginestas · 08/12/2013 20:27

keep I bloody hope it is me up next! I'm increasingly immobile and getting more worried about things going wrong in/before labour. Plus there's the pressure of wanting her out before the dreaded induction. 39+1 today...

That's fab re the bottle. I will definitely be encouraging DH to help out, once we can express.

Good work on the night out onion. Hope ringlett realises her parents need to recover tonight and allows you some sleep.

My DH wouldn't have any idea what cashmere is dildals! I don't think primark sells it Wink.

fairy go DS and the healthy curry. Veh impressive.

shazz hope shazzlet is ok today and you're not feeling too blue.

Ginestas · 08/12/2013 20:28

Ps did/does anyone have stupidly itchy stretch marks on their bump? The itching is driving me mad. I'm now resorting to Sudacream on them...

Shazzamattazzerly · 08/12/2013 20:58

Hello ladies

Onion that's the problem with a good night out ..... The morning after! How do I get her to latch on in a dream feed? At the mo she falls asleep at the boob during a feed and I cAnt get her to latch back on without waking her up.

Dildals that's funny re the alcoholic help. My DP does have a cashmere jumper but prefers his fleece. he has now decided he can't father in denim as it is too uncomfortable and he has ordered himself some comfy cords!

Fairy I'm impressed with DS's grown up taste buds. Even I dont like curry! Shazlett and I have the same hair at the mo! It's not just a lot of hair, she has a proper style. I hope she doesn't lose it though. Have any of you had experience of this? People keep telling me she will lose it.

Keep good news re the bottle. I know it's good to share the load if possible but secretly I wonder if I'm going to be reluctant to relinquish the responsibility of feeding her.

Gin I had a very itchy bump but then my skin is very itchy anyway.

Sweets only 8 days. Eek!!!

Hello to everyone else.

I'm not too bad today. Still abit tender and teary. We went for a walk but even though we only went up the road we went too far unfortunately and I felt my scar pulling. It is so hard not to overdo it. Ive tried to rest abit but shazlett is having problems with wind and has been screaming today. Bless her I wish I could relieve it for her. She is sleeping now but is due a feed so I'm going to have to wake her. Maybe I'll have a go at this dream feeding lark.

keepitgoing · 09/12/2013 03:13

Argh, all my nct people keep putting of fb how their babies are sleeping 4/6/7 hours. Mine has never been more than 3 and tonight 90 minutes so far. Am I doing something wrong? All my reading suggests this is normal but why am I the odd one out?

shaz honestly I'm so tired right now I'd be happy to hand the whole nights over.
