Hello again - another shiny new thread for the batsh*t crazy women going through the stress and emotional rollercoaster that is being pregnant after a miscarriage.

Fingers crossed for lots of happy scans and boring pregnancies.

janie amazing news!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So pleased for you. If only he could talk am sure he would have some stories to tell.

The cat that had been mated by the way is officially pregnant by the way. Babies due 2nd november! If only it was that easy for us. 9 weeks versus 9 months!

SnotMyProblem · 09/10/2013 09:03

Janie, that is great news!

fod, that's lovely news about your scan.

Am seeing the doctor today, now. After arranging the appointment with Doctor A for Thursday, I got another phone call a bit later saying that Doctor B wants to see me, so appointment A is now cancelled and I'm got an earlier slot, hooray. I'm hoping its something 'easy' like iron deficiency, which was a problem with DS. Quite like having the GPs fighting over me though!Grin

Pentagon · 09/10/2013 09:12

tea good luck today! Thinking of you!

janie great news! You must be delighted Grin

wow, those kittens are coming soon bod!

choc I bet you can't wait for your maternity leave to start. ibip 38 weeks may still be OK but you can always move it forward if you get too tired, no? I would have happily stayed at work 1 more week, I wasn't feeling too tired but the commute was starting to annoy me. OK off to check the spinning babies website...

GardenWorm · 09/10/2013 09:39

Jeeze. If I was a cat I would safely say I lost one of my 9 lives this morning. Managed to put my car over a ditch, through a hedge, over another ditch and into a farmers fence this morning. I'm ok (achey!) and baby is being monitored but is happy. Can't believe we are ok. Having a 'moment'.

Pentagon · 09/10/2013 09:50

oh my goodness, garden - what a morning! Glad you and baby are OK, take it easy and relax for the rest of the day. x

Tomkat79 · 09/10/2013 09:54

Bloody hell garden what you like?! So glad you're both ok.

janie I'm so glad the fur baby is home. Little bugger. Bet he's never been so pleased to be on his fave cushion.

Good luck today tea. It'll be wriggling about all over the place :-)

Thinking of you today pfj, glad they could get you in nice and quick. So sorry for your loss. Sure you'll be back soon xx

IBelieveInPink · 09/10/2013 09:58

Garden - what on earth? Thank goodness you are okay - don't want to go doing silly things like that! You poor thing - must have given you such a fright. Hugs.

Pentagon - I'm down to 3 and half days a week now, so isn't like full time working :) shouldn't moan really, it's not too bad. And would rather time with baby afterwards, if I can hold out!

SaggyIsHavingAPinkKitten · 09/10/2013 10:13

Garden!! How on earth did you mange that?? Thank GOD you are both ok!
I was in the middle of a thankfully very slow moving, ice induced 12 car pile up at 7 months with DS. Everyone was fine, but the horror Shock on people's faces when I climbed from our friend's totally crumpled Citroen ZX with a huge baby bump was hysterical! The police wanted an ambulance! I was absolutely fine!
It is scary though!
I hope you are ok. AND that you are home and relaxing! Watch out for delayed shock. xx

Angloamerican · 09/10/2013 10:14

Well, I had my ultrasound yesterday. Baby looks great! Strong heartbeat, lots of jiggling about. Midwife also said I could stop the -nasty- progesterone suppositories, which is good.

Only possible cloud on the horizon - evidently I have an blood antibody called Ce. It's part of the Rhesus group, and I probably was exposed to something during my last pregnancy. Anyway, theoretically it could cross the placenta and hurt the baby if my antibody levels were high enough and I wasn't monitored. Good news is that my titer levels are low - less than 1 - which suggests that nothing is happening at present. Antibodies there, but dormant. I'm waiting for confirmation from the Maternal-Fetal-Medicine team, but midwives think it will mean a monthly blood draw to measure antibody levels, then appropriate management if necessary. Possibly a blood transfusion or plasma transfer.

To be honest, I don't even have the energy to be worried about it. I've learned from bitter experience that worrying and Googling won't change a thing, so why waste the energy? As far as I'm concerned, there's nothing to worry about until I'm told that there is.

Lovely midwife told me that protocol is to come back in 4 weeks for next checkup, but due to my history, I can come back more frequently if it will soothe my general anxiety. Going back in 2 weeks :-)

Bakingtins · 09/10/2013 10:23

Garden glad you and baby are ok, you must be pretty shaken up though. Flowers

Anglo congrats on your scan. I'm sure the antibody thing is not too much of a problem if they are keeping a close eye on it.

Tea good luck.

Thank you xxx

How I didn't wee myself I don't know. Closed my eyes for the hedge part. Then thought the car was going to explode (it wasn't!) and clambered out ran into the field and spent 10 mins in the dark on the phone to Emergency services trying to describe my field. Out of hospital but go to go in later for Anti D. DP has just gone out to try and find out whose field it is (and survey the damage in daylight but I suspect it's a write off). At home chilling for a bit, preparing for the ball ache of insurance company and sorting the car out...

CbeebiesIsMyLife · 09/10/2013 11:50

Garden, better the ball ache of insurance than the alternative :( glad your ok, rest up and as another poster said (sorry forgotten name) watch out for delayed shock.

Yea to good scan news Anglo, your outlook on the antibodies sounds good. One step at a time, take things as they come.

SaggyIsHavingAPinkKitten · 09/10/2013 11:50

God that sounds terrifying! {{hugs}}

kjh5 · 09/10/2013 12:21

Tea I am thinking of you today xxxx

Anglo fab news about good scan and think your attitude to the possible antibody problem is excellent :)

Garden eeeek! so glad you are ok xxx

PFJ truly gutted to hear your news, you seem so strong and positive, wishing you all the very best and sending you lots of love xxx

SnotMyProblem · 09/10/2013 12:31

Garden, that sounds terrible, and am glad you're OK.

Does anybody have experience of having a low white blood cell count? Turns out that's why I was called back to be stuck again. I stupidly consulted Dr Google and was not reassured...

Pixielady83 · 09/10/2013 12:38

garden Shock how scary! glad you and bubs are ok.

tea hope its all ok xxx

WhatWillSantaBring · 09/10/2013 12:50

My goodness - so much news, I can't process it all. I'm thrilled for the happy news stories - Janie's returning cat (hurray), anglo's good scan, bakings upduffed cat and I'm not at all jealous that the cat won't be going through the angst of scan doom etc and of course, the return of baking to this thread. Really praying for you my lovely, and hoping that all those drugs (how do you keep up) do their stuff so you have a happy healthy and dull pregnancy.

garden - I think that counts as good news too, in that you are OK. Obviously the actual car crash is not good news, but as long as its just the car that's damaged, I think its not too bad in the wider scheme of things.

Devastated to hear about PFJ though I'm sure she's not following this thread anymore. Having one MC is crap enough, but a second or further one is just so so unfair.

I'm not starting mat leave till 38 weeks either, though I have got to use up lots of leave in the next few months. I don't want to take it all at the very end because of work we're having done at home, but looking foward to a week off in November and another at the start of Dec.

GuffSmuggler · 09/10/2013 13:13

Oh my goodness garden, glad you're ok. Look after yourself the new few days as shock might set in.

Great scan news anglo and so pleased your cat is back janie Grin

Bodicea · 09/10/2013 14:35

Garden that sound horrible. glad that you and baby are ok and sod the car!

Has anyone noticed their driving getting worse? I seem to keep misjudging distances of cars coming up to junctions and sort of pulling out in front of them! Blush nothing drastic but enough to possibly make them brake (and possibly curse at me under breath). It doesn't help that I have swapped my lovely racy convertible for mummobile and keep forgetting I have no power/acceleration any more!!!

kjh5 · 09/10/2013 15:24

DH seems a bit bemused by my constant mumsnetting, I don't think he is entirely sure what it is I do on here - so he has just messaged me to ask if I have contributed to this thread at all:

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/mumsnet_classics/a1875847-Do-you-dunk-your-penis

I am literally crying with laughter reading through it. If anyone else fancies a giggle...

Tomkat79 · 09/10/2013 15:28

Pmsl kjh wtf?! Bet she feels v silly now!

CbeebiesIsMyLife · 09/10/2013 16:05

I've been laughing at that all day, I just don't quite know what to make of it!

MissMedusa · 09/10/2013 19:10

Yay janie I am so happy your cat came back. I have been worrying for you, what a scoundrel, going off on a little cat vacation like that!

Very happy to hear your news as well anglo.

Hoping everything goes well for you today too tea

I had another scan today at 8+1 and everything looked great. Saw hands and feet and it even moved a little. It was so wonderful seeing that I cried a little. Dr. was wonderful and gave me a big hug and said this pregnancy will continue (he probably should know better than to say such things but I ate it up like hot apple pie). I might even have enough courage to tell my parents now.
