Open to all elderberry grads and anyone who fits the berry criteria: over 30, first trimester(ish) with #1 after trying for a long time, and nervous as hell. Come on in for handholding and nub theory!

You might want to check that they haven't already made the appointments for you and written them somewhere in your notes

Foodylicious · 19/10/2013 21:08

tally Think you should have an appt with MW at 16 wks - from what I remember (booking in appt before mc in may, so a while ago!) I think you are expected to book this yourself? Have you got your booking in folder - maybe it tells you in there what is next?

Congratulations Piper Flowers

Foodylicious · 19/10/2013 21:12

Also this might help with what should be offered!

BlindKitty · 20/10/2013 03:27

Oh tally so pleased your managing to reemerge into the land of the living!

So, it's 3.27 and I'm wide awake grrr! Must try counting sheep...

Boomgoestheweasel · 20/10/2013 07:33

Morning folks! Made it to 7.15 before being woken by the Boomdogs, winner! Plus the husband is walking them to the shop to fetch me an almond croissant, and I'm still snuggled up in bed with a purring cat. Aaaah, happy Boom!

piper hello, congratulations! Welcome to the copter, strap yourself in for the ride Grin

tally are you nearly human again? So glad you're coming out the other side! Have some Cake to celebrate!

Sorry, on phone and can't scroll back any further so excuse the lack of name checking. Anyone doing anything lovely today? I'm back to work at 5...

Boomgoestheweasel · 20/10/2013 07:42

Bah. No croissants at the shop. Going to have to get up to make porridge now. Booooo.

BlindKitty · 20/10/2013 08:02

boom ah rubbish! I'm debating a slice of toast of my first ever batch of bread! The electric tripped whilst ?proving so I had no idea just how long was left!

Thundercatsarego · 20/10/2013 08:04

That is rubbish boom. So he's not offering to make the porridge as a substitute?

kitty good luck with the bread! Does it smell amazing?

Think the headache is off bugging someone else again today again Grin. Off to make coffee as part of my morning ritual....

Boomgoestheweasel · 20/10/2013 08:19

Ha thunder, Mr Boom does not know how to make porridge! He's back in bed! Yay to no headache. No coffee here but I do have a rather nice cup of cinnamon tea on the go...

Oooh Kitty save me a slice even though I'm stuffed full of porridge and banana

I had my first cup of tea yesterday for 2 months. it was gorgeous! got to buy some decaf tea if things go on like this Grin

BlindKitty · 20/10/2013 09:48

tally I gave up caffeine about a year ago so have tried and tested all the caffeine free tea! IMO Yorkshire decaf tea wins!

Thundercatsarego · 20/10/2013 10:00

Ooo tally that sounds wonderful! So pleased you're feeling more human again.

Good tips kitty, I have co op tea at work and tetley at home. Will try Yorkshire next.

Boomgoestheweasel · 20/10/2013 10:41

Another vote here for Yorkshire decaf! Although my dad used to work at the Taylor's factory and I've drunk Yorkshire all my life, so I'm biased Grin Tetley just doesn't cut it though...

Well epic bread fail! Hadn't risen enough and too salty! Ah better luck next time!

PuppyMummy · 20/10/2013 11:26

kitty do u have a bread maker? I share one with my mum. its fab. you just bung the flour in ( make sure u get a flour for bread makers so it has all the ingredients in) turn it on and then a few hours later perfect bread! and it smells amazing while it cooks!

no kneeding or proving needed!

CatsCantFlyFast · 20/10/2013 11:28

Were you using a bread maker Kitty? I use very little salt BUT salt has an effect on yeast and can make a loaf rise then sink if you leave it out. Was your butter salted?

Pipersouth · 20/10/2013 12:05

Bread making on a Sunday morning loving the thought!! I 've never tried it but bake-off does get me hungry. puppy is the flour in your normal type shops? Have thought about asking for a bread maker for Xmas (too early too early I know Hmm) but worried it would be hard to do?

Pipersouth · 20/10/2013 12:11

Oops meant to reply to the kind congrats and say I feel odd!! Been waiting so long that now it has finally happened and don't feel any different - is that normal? DH is ecstatic but now I'm just a bit scared I think Blush

Foodylicious · 20/10/2013 13:22

I had a bread maker a few years ago and it made very good dough - if you left in in the machine to cook the loaf was not that great, but getting the machine to do all the hard work then baking it in the oven yourself was a winner!

qazxc · 20/10/2013 13:45

Soooo I've just POAS and it's BFP, 2-3 weeks! Am equal measures of thrilled and freaked. Have had 3 mc in 2 years.

Tallyra · 20/10/2013 14:03

congrats qaz, is this your first?

qazxc · 20/10/2013 14:40

if it sticks it will be mine and DPs first. Am hoping for fourth time lucky but worrying about every twinge. hopefully will get to see doctor tomorrow, he said to come straight to him so that he can get me into EPU.

Tallyra · 20/10/2013 14:53

it's 4th time lucky for me, now 14w. you can do it!

Boomgoestheweasel · 20/10/2013 15:20

Aw congrats qaz, welcome and fingers crossed for you!

Piper totally normal I think, you sort of expect everything to change and actually you still feel exactly the same only hungrier and full of wind and there's no physical difference. I think the 1st trimester is a very weird time, like pregnancy limbo. I've just breached the 2nd trimester barrier (YAY!) and now that there's a bit of a bulge in the gut region, I sort of feel a bit pregnant occasionally. But I still only remember every so often!

My mum had a breadmaker, not sure she ever really grasped the concept and her loaves were a bit weird, the white ones were like a bread-crumpet hybrid and the brown ones were very crumbly. Using it for the dough sounds clever though foody!

Mr Boom has redeemed his lack of croissant related hunter-gatherer skills by cooking me an awesome roast while I had a nap. Now stuffed to the gills and wanting another nap, but instead have to get ready for work. Meh.
