Welcome ladies, new and old. Grin May we all have dull and boring pregnancies. Pull up a chair, crack open a bottle of (non-alcoholic) wine and settle in for mutual handholding, fishslapping and neurosis.

Fuck fuck fuck!! Excuse my language!
Had scan today, all great, had 2 as baby wasn't in a good position to check heart, went for walk and went back, all good.
Just gone to the toilet and I'm bleeding! Not heavy but am shitting one :( DP not home from work yet. My mum is here but I don't wanna tell her as she worries a lot, she travelled 3hours to come to the scan and see us for a few days.

Evening all...so glad it's Friday and my night shifts are all over for the week.

Got a letter today informing me that my smear test is due. I had an abnormal one and some cells removed 5 years ago so guessing I shouldn't put it off due to pregnancy but really not sure if I want anyone prodding about up there! Would you delay it until after 12 weeks? I'm only 5 now x

IBelieveInPink · 06/09/2013 19:29

Oh dear.

Christine - can you call someone? Midwife or something? Bleeding should always be checked, although if it light I'm sure it is nothing to panic about. Oh you poor thing :(

Tom - I don't think they will do a smear if you pregnant. Worth checking, but I think once they find out they will put it off til after baby comes.

WhatWillSantaBring · 06/09/2013 19:32

tom yes, you will be told to delay it till after pg. presuming you've been having normal smear results for the last few years then that's what they'll suggest. But phone and speak to your practice nurse or GP so the reason for not going is recorded, and they pick you up again after giving birth. That's what happened to me, at least.

christine I can imagine how stressed you are, but stay calm if you can. Lots of reasons for bleeds and at this stage its also far more likely that its another reason than a bad sign.

Trying not to panic about lack of movement today. Still feeling really run down and hoping I just need food and a lie down. I'm 23+4 so too early to go to a DAU, because if there were signs it was failing, I wouldn't want to do anything- the risks for the at this stage a re too gret, IMHO.

Christine I would ring or go to your EPU, sorry I can't remember how many wks you are? Also I think I would tell my mum, I'm sure she will notice there is something wrong. It may just be that their prodding today has aggravated your insides, try not to panic xxxx

Tomkat not sure you can have one whilst pregnant, best wait and check with midwife

Anda I just downloaded Instagram and finally got to see your beautiful girls. I love the pics of them sleeping together. Adorable! Hope the Anda family are all doing well xxx

Soz Santa cross posts, just wanted to say I had the odd quiet day but it was totally because they had moved and were facing my back. Have you tried the cold sugary drink/chocolate and chilling on your left side? X

Report
IBelieveInPink · 06/09/2013 19:47

Santa - baby has quiet days all the time. Usually every Wednesday, strangely! Have a lie down and a cold drink, sure you will feel wriggles soon. Don't be scared to go in and get checked though, I did at 23 weeks and they listened to hb and reassured me. Was the best.

Also been feeling a bit rough today (although wriggles is fine! ) has anyone else who had the whooping cough vaccine had this a few days after the jab? Bit hot, sore and generally a bit rotten?

Great scan news omri massive congrats Smile

Christine congrats for your scan too and I'm so sorry you're having the panic of a bleed now, I agree with everyone else, tell your mum and go get checked, I'm sure it will be fine x

tom I have had treatment for pre cancerous cells twice so am closely monitored and my smear was postponed till 3m after birth Smile

santa pack of tangfastics, ice cold can of coke and if no movement within 2 hours go get checked, you know not to leave it but I'm sure you'll get some movement soon x

christine go to EPU if you are at all concerned. I'm not worried about making a nuisance of myself this time if I am concerned about anything, it will put your mind at rest.

Thanks guys, ill inform my Midwife at 8 week apt. How's that for posifrickintivity Grin

Sorry Christine that your respite from worry is so short lived. I'm sure everything is ok though.

In relation to doing exercise Kjh I've signed up to an antenatal pilates class. I haven't done pilates before so not sure what to expect. But any help I can get with pelvic floor and stomach muscles is welcome. From more of a fitness point of view swimming is recommended - but unless the swimming pools are outside in lovely hot sunshine I can't muster up much enthusiasm for that.

Sorry for the panicy post there! I have checked a few times since and bleeding has stopped?! I'm sure this baby is just trying to mess with my head. Tmi but I'm a bit constipated at the mo and had just 'been' when the bleeding started... Could it be linked?

Christine- I hope all is ok, it could be the scan or straining from constipation that could cause a bleed. Good news on your scan though.
Omri- good news- congrats.
Andadietcoke - hope you are home now with your beautiful girls, do they like their bugaboo- lucky ladies!!
Santa- my baby often has quiet days, usually when I'm busy and tired and just when I want to go to bed it wakes up!!

Well I had the most boring day at a IT training day- why do I always get out in a group with people who can't turn the computer on- what could have taken 2 hours took all day.
I'm 27 weeks now and whilst I feel baby moving I'm convinced its not as strong as my other two were- got to worry about something. Still not convinced I'll have a baby at the end of this journey!! But submitted my mat leave application which is exiting nonetheless.

Hope you all have a happy weekend. Xx

santa i'm glad your baby is wriggling around again :)

gary Shock well, they do say you are very fertile after giving birth! (am I helping?)

Gary tell the truth now, you just want to add yoyrself to the bottom of the stats list again, dont you! Grin
Christine I know we all say this all of the time, but a bit of bleeding can be quite normal .
I often find that constipation sets my cervical erosion off bleeding. And that the blood is coning from a pile is definitely an option. Once or twice over the years ive had a bit of a tear erm...back there when constipated and the blood can be quite shocking! red water, blood everywhere! Blush Blush
