Welcome ladies, new and old. Grin May we all have dull and boring pregnancies. Pull up a chair, crack open a bottle of (non-alcoholic) wine and settle in for mutual handholding, fishslapping and neurosis.

I won't be finding out sex- love the surprise "it's a boy!!" moment!

Regarding name choices- for ds I listened patiently and carefully to all of dp's crazy name choices for 9 months, smiling and nodding, then after agonising labour told him what our baby's name was!! Wink No questions no arguments Grin

Hey guys, I'm still here, just trying not to take up too much thread space.
We are ok. We are going to have a chat with a counsellor at some point soon, and my lovely sister and cousin took me out to lunch yesterday.
Had a bit of a meltdown today courtesy of my DM and her head on approach to me and my problems! Confused but Im feeling better now. Love to you all, I hope everyone is well and not stressing too much!
I'll be back in a bit when I have my head straight.
Saggy. x

congrats on all the great scan news girls!

saggy good to hear from you sounds like you have a good support network of close friends and family to help you. good that you;re getting professional support too xx

bod i'm uber jealous of our new babykitty! will look forward to some exotic naming there :) i don't think you're crazy at all. cats are definitely easier than dogs!

thanks for all your advice re. marking the anniversary next week. i'm just a sentimental old sod. i originally had a half day that day but discovered i now have to work so might just plant a wee something in the garden or something or maybe just get myself a big box of chocolates and scoff them all.

got gp appointment tomorrow (no practice midwife for antenatal apps). TMI alert....i'm nearly 32 weeks.... just wondering if any of you have experienced a wee bit of a whiffy smell down below? only notice it when i go to the loo...not sure f it's normal or if i should mention it to the dr tomorrow...already embarrassed at the thought of it as it's an old man dr i'm seeing tomorrow ..cringe

Good luck to the others for the scans tmrw.
I was confident going into my 12 wk scan few wks ago - but have a bit of the ol' scan doom for tmrw for no real logical reason....

Off to bed nighty night!

janie could it be your wee? Have you got unusual discharge in knickers? Itchy? Nurse hat on. I'd definitely mention it. He won't bat an eyelid I promise.

JanieLovesLuckySocks · 25/09/2013 22:06

Thanks tom, Tmi alert again...maybe a wee bit wetter down there but don't think it's wee...a wee bit itchy but maybe cos I haven't a trim in a couple of weeks. Ok I'll trim now and ask him tmro, god I hope he doesn't want a look or a sniff!! Christ!!

Good luck for scans tomorrow, seem to be lots this week! X

BumpKitty · 25/09/2013 22:06

janie i'm not sure about the smell - maybe if you don't feel comfortable discussing it with the old man GP you could call a midwife or nhs direct (or whatever it is now!). It could be a UTI but that would show up when he tests your urine sample anyway.

I also have a tmi prob - really swollen bits, very uncomfortable, I could do with an ice pack down my pants - anyone else got this?!

birds and rockchick brilliant news on the scans

So today a woman at work said I was 'like a ship in full sail' I have taken this to mean I am resplendent and blooming and not the alternative meaning of fecking huge Grin

Ha bump don't you just love peoples comments!

Swollen bits are quite common I think...isn't it due to the increased blood flow? Can become quite engorged. Glamorous eh.

Janie is it a bit fishy? Could be BV, v common and easily treated without antibiotics. Caused by a imbalance in vaginal ph.

Pixielady83 · 25/09/2013 22:13

Janie I would say def worth a mention just in case it is an infection. They might take a swab to check, you could always go to the nurse instead maybe if you feel more comfortable?

Bump I had really swollen bits by the end last time, another horrible side effect! Everything just got very squished down below and think the pressure from baby bearing down doesn't help. I found it helpful to go knickerless with loose pj trousers Blush but I was working from home by the end, probably not an ideal approach when you need to go about your day to day life still!

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 25/09/2013 22:13

What does it smell like Janey?
Fish? Get thee to the GP!
Popcorn or sugarpuffs? A sign of dehydration, get some water down your neck!
Ammonia? Your bladder could be a bit leaky! Get clenching those pelvic floor muscles!

Report
JanieLovesLuckySocks · 25/09/2013 22:15

Hmm not fishy...a bit erm like bleach?! I've had a cold sore which is the only thing I can think of but no idea I'd that would have any relation to a stinky vajayjay. Ah well at least it's not super hot doctor tomorrow...he booked his holiday for the right week!

Bump sorry about your swollen nethers, I've read of others having that too but not sure what the cause was. If it's any consolation, a close friend saw me the other day and said 'I' looked swollen. Nice. I reminded her that I was 7 months pregnant!

Report
SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 25/09/2013 22:24

Sounds like mine Janey. I am fairly certain that Ive sprung a slight bladder leak! Blush A pant liner definitely helps.
You should probably mention it when you next speak to the GP or MW, Im going to, and get clenching! Grin

Gosh just reading back over the thread trying to catch up.... very sorry to hear you did not get the result you wanted Saggy - glad you're positive about things though. All the Down Syndrome people I have met have seemed very happy and achieved so much. Keeping everything crossed for your heart scan. We are awaiting harmony test results and for what it's worth if the baby has DS, we will be continuing too.

Really glad your scan went well birds, going in is v scary after a previous mmc, trying to relax after 10 wk ok but still scared over the 12 week one.

good luck for tmrw omri

Yey to not smelling like a market fish stall. Don't mean to laugh but just imagining you telling some crusty ol GP that your vajayjay smells of bleach!

As saggy says tho, best mention it.

Hi girls.... My scan went really really well!

The lady who prep'd me freaked me out completely by saying ' Well looking at your history this scan could turn out good or bad, let's hope its in the right place and not an ectopic ... well if it is 'Ce Cera Cera eh' o.O
That's when I started shaking bodily and became breathless.. so glad DH was there!!

However, once I managed to force myself to lie still, they found Little Pea straight away! AND we saw the heart beating........ I could NOT believe it!!! Pea is 10mm long and I was right about the dating... 7 weeks.
So we have a blurry picture as evidence - which you can see the heart on, and I have been put on 'Reassurance Protocol' with another scan at week 9 on the 8th October.

MW on monday for my booking appointment.

I have been so emotional the last few days... sorry I haven't been posting..... I burst into tears at the drop of a hat. Now I have actually seen the baby I feel like this pregnancy is actually real now. So I have been extra careful lifting stuff etc etc.........

Love to you all.... HUGS xxxxxxxxxx

Hello all - am on hols this week in Majorca but thankfully wifi in the villa the in laws have kindly rented. Which means sober me can sneak off to MN while the party continues elsewhere.

For the sore nips ladies - I have resorted to twin prong attack of steroid cream and Vagisil -I should get commission from them I harp on about it so much but Vagisil is so good for itchy bits all over. It stopped me effectively trying to scratch off my nipples long enough for the steroid cream to clear the last itchy attack.

I have an unfortunate allergy to my own sweat, get a lovely red moustache when I get a bit hot - so immediatly feeling fantastic away on hols with vv slim Sil and mil - me all fat bump and sweaty

PFJ that is terrible! What is wrong with people! Presumably this person has a job in EPAU, a little sensitivity is the main criteria for the job surely! Angry
Ive been exactly where you are, my MC was ectopic. Nothing compares to seeing that tiny sac and bean in the right place! Great news!
