Hyperemesis Support

I hope everyone suffering from the Horrors of Hyperemesis will find this thread useful as a source of support and information.

There's no TMI on here - can't be by definition - and nobody should feel ashamed of moaning as much as they feel the need to.

I used to include extracts from MOH's wonderful website
sites.google.com/site/pregnancysicknesssos/
but I think that makes this link less visible so am merely putting the link. The information on this site is invaluable for sufferers, with information about medications, coping strategies, hospital admissions, useful links, advice for family members, and much more.

I would like to thank MOH and Everyone who has given such invaluable support and advice on this and on previous threads.

Remember when you are at your worst, 'This Too Shall Pass'. It really will.

I have to do the yoga breathing every night too! Lol! I must sound like a right prat! Weirdly, I am findinfpg champagne and red wine OK. I had half a glass of champers last night and felt better! What is weirder is that I don't drink in RL!? Go figure.

I hope everyone has good days today.

Just wanted a winge.

I'm being induced in 7 weeks apparently unless they will agree to do it sooner.

I can't move I can't eat I have to have cannulas in my neck as my arm veins don't fit them any more. My nose constantly bleeds so does my throat my arse is black and blue from various injections I'm in hospital more times than I'm out.

And everybody but every body none medical who talks to me tells me about there fucking morning sickness apparently being sick once or twice a day up until 15 weeks is just the same.

jenpatnim · 15/09/2013 13:01

Oh sock, I am so sorry! HG really is a curse. We understand, and at least you are getting medical attention. Big hugs xx

LucindaE · 15/09/2013 13:10

Soc Welcome, complain all you like, that is what this thread is for. That sounds awful, I am so sorry you have suffered so badly throughout, and to make things worse, people have made infuriating assumptions.
Your case sounds as if it has been as bad as it can get, oh dear.
Sorry Everybody seems to be battling, but I am glad there have been some outings. The yoga breathing sounds a brilliant idea, as do the affirmations, never mind what neighbours think.
I hope this quote doesn't annoy anyone, but I have just come across it on another blog. 'The darkest hour only lasts sixty minutes' . However, as the happiest hour flies by, those sixty minutes can seem much longer, but time does pass. The end of the journey is reached.

Its happened to me with my last 5 pregnancies I'm quite lucky because my consultant who I see on a private basis (but does NHS as well) is brilliant

LucindaE · 15/09/2013 17:18

Soc Five? My goodness, you are an Hyperemesis Heroine! I think the most pregnancies anyone on here has had before was four, some brave people go for three, but five, and if you have it so badly, too.

Grin I have 14 years between the one where it was so bad I was induced at 35 weeks and the next one

Totesamazeballs · 15/09/2013 22:04

Five! Flipping hell! You must be brave!

Sally8655 · 15/09/2013 22:39

Oh my goodness 5!! This will be my one and only.

I've had a not too bad day but feeling rough now. Been munching on ice cubes as drinking water is a no no. It just bubbles back up.
Managed to eat a bowl of cereal and ham sandwich again today. Taken an ondansetron in the hopes it'll help me out this evening. I'm not taking them like i was before as i don't think they were as effective as they were in the beginning.

Scan tomorrow!! Nervous but excited. I just hope all is ok and as a bonus babies legs are not crossed :-)

Feeling sorry for the ladies just joining and suffering badly. I have to say I'm so pleased it has eased a little for me. Just wish it would go away altogether. When it hits me in the evenings all I want to do is cry. It doesn't help I'm an emotional wreck.
I just keep thinking "this too shall pass" only 19 weeks to go! Hopefully earlier as they said they may induce at 37 weeks :-)

MurderOfGoths · 15/09/2013 22:44

sock You are bloody amazing!! They were threatening me with canulas in my neck in my last pregnancy, only narrowly avoided it, so you have my full sympathy!

IneedAsockamnesty · 15/09/2013 22:50

Well its given me some interesting things to talk about, half the neighbourhood kids think I'm a wrestler because of the bruises.

MurderOfGoths · 15/09/2013 22:52

After giving birth to DS my arms were black and blue from wrist to upper arm. There were a couple of times I went out with DH and you'd see people look sadly at my arms, look angrily at him, and then barge into him!

IneedAsockamnesty · 15/09/2013 23:22

MOG

I've had that happen as well the looks they give are heartbreaking,at the moment I tend to look like I've got a massive black eye because of the dark under my eyes combined with the burst thread veins under one of them caused (I'm pretty sure) by the almost constant retching,I'm also pretty sure my dentist thinks I'm a meth addict because of the erosion on my teeth and the sores around my mouth.

I now can't even lean forward without puking

MurderOfGoths · 15/09/2013 23:28

I remember that all too well :( So sorry you are going through that, really hope the next few weeks ease up a little for you.

jenpatnim · 16/09/2013 07:46

Sock, respect! Sorry you are having such a rough time

I am feeling worse - still on the meds but really queasy yesterday and this morning with some retching this morning as well. Not sick enough to phone in sick to work but really don't want to go. Also slept badly as I felt so queasy and couldn't get warm - I was wearing fleecy pjs, a cardigan and I put a throw over the duvet. Have asked OH to put the warmer duvet on the bed for me.

I know I am not as bad as some but I feel miserable, it is a real setback.

Sally8655 · 16/09/2013 13:07

Just a quickie to say, scan was fine and its a boy!!

Meerka · 16/09/2013 13:24

Jen Sorry you are feeling bad.
Soc Still admiring!
MOG Not fair on him, but I'm glad people were so disapproving of a suspected wife beater!
Hope Everyone is coping today.
