No reason really just wondering.

37+3 with first he's due 12 days before my 22nd bday. Always thought I would have one around this age. Only person nervous to tell s my dad but he was over the moon! DPs dads reaction didn't cross my mind but he went silent on phone (lives away) hung up, called back ten mins later Xmas day might I add. And said oh sorry you caught me by surprise I um don't think I'm ready to be a grandad! He will be 55 my dad will turn 45 6 day before due date.

So how old were you when you had your first? And any others while we're at it :)

I will have just turned 29 by the time I give birth, although the pregnancy has made me feel about 92!

25....too young, should have waited really then maybe the shock and ensuing PND wouldn't have been so bad

yoyoyo · 11/08/2013 03:10

32 1st, 36 2nd

LittleMissSnowShine · 11/08/2013 03:29

26 when I had DS1, 29 now and expecting DS2 any day. On an aside point, anyone find it funny / strange how media articles always seem to focus on mums who have decided to have kids first and think about their careers later or women in their 40s struggling with fertility issues because they had to put off having kids because of their careers. No one is ever interested in boring mums who went to uni and worked for a couple of years, then had kids and tho either continue to work or will go back to work in a couple of years. No media friendly sound bites about us!!

DS 25

FraggleRock77 · 11/08/2013 03:51

36 for the same reason as others r.e. my career. I do feel ready xxx

shufflehopstep · 11/08/2013 04:04

4 days before I turned 35. Thought I'd have had them earlier but things didn't work to plan! And I've got an OK job but haven't got a "career" to speak of so it was just life getting in the way. I'm 36 now and trying for another so (unless I get pregnant in the next fortnight) I'll be 37 with number 2.

JennaRainbow · 11/08/2013 05:06

I will have just turned 32

Kelly1814 · 11/08/2013 07:02

I will be 37.

Never wanted children before let alone met a man who I would even consider father material.

Then I did and it changed me :)

tumbletumble · 11/08/2013 07:04

SeriousStuff · 11/08/2013 07:14

I will be 32 and 7 months when DC1 is born. I still feel 17...

LittlePeaPod · 11/08/2013 07:24

LittleMissSnowShine Regarding the media, I have to admit I haven't read articles as you describe. But I generally don't read Red Tops (DM, Express, Gardian etc.), I tend to stick to broad sheet, industry and the business papers. I find the Red Top papers irritating in the childishly biased left, red or generally confused political leaning tendencies.

women in their 40s struggling with fertility issues because they had to put off having kids because of their careers

Could I also say I am 37 and I didn't have to put off having children, I choose to put off having children whilst I established my career and got financially stable. I know you weren't having a go at older working mums but just wanted to clarify from a personal prospective because there is a ig difference in the two statements. Wink

islingtongirl · 11/08/2013 07:30

I will be 30 when I have my first (due in just under 2 weeks - eek!). 31 in a few months. Would hope to have dc2 by 32/33. Smile

RedlipsAndSlippers · 11/08/2013 07:33

21 with DD
I'm 25 now and DS is due in October :)
Both planned, me and DP met at 17 and always wanted children young, so once we were financially stable we went for it.

GwendolynMoon · 11/08/2013 07:48
  1. Hoping will be around 32 for no.2
BlackholesAndRevelations · 11/08/2013 07:53

28 for dc1, 30 for 2, and will be 32 for 3. Spot on perfect in my eyes (and very lucky!) have done uni and a few years in ny career, now ready to step back from work, and fancying a career change when they're a bit bigger!

LifeIsSoDifferent · 11/08/2013 07:56
