Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Gingerandlemon · 30/08/2013 22:15

Aw thanks Queazy :). I'm just scared it'll be some kind of horrendous never ending epidural/ forceps type number with my husband being sent home whilst I'm writhing in agony.

It's possible I may be catastrophising...

batfuttocks · 30/08/2013 22:29

Ginger, is this your first? If not, the gel is often enough to start you off. Best of luck!

cakebaby · 30/08/2013 22:48

ginger I'm totally with you. I'm having a last ditch attempt sweep sat am before induction on Sunday. I could have written your last post. Good luck, we'll have everything crossed for you. See you on the ante natal thread Grin

Boosiehs · 30/08/2013 22:52

Really good luck ginger. You'll be holding your baby before you know it!

I'm holding out for Sunday now!

Gonnabmummy · 30/08/2013 23:28

Nothing all day, went to loo at 7 and everytime I'm wiping there's blood.
Phoned and they told to keep an eye and if it starts going onto a pad call bk but feeling fine :)

Gingerandlemon · 31/08/2013 00:45

Thanks ladies! It is indeed my first but I've been having erratic contractions for the past week so I'm reaaaaally hoping that has done some of the work for me so i dont even only need the gel. See you all on the other side I guess! Xx

CleanAllTheThings · 31/08/2013 01:44

Good luck Ginger! I am also looking at being induced tomorrow after my waters broke on Thursday. Have been having fairly regular pains and hoping they will get closer together over night.

We might have our babies tomorrow! :)

Mayanbob · 31/08/2013 06:16

Hello again all- and new fed ups. Just wanted to say thank you for the wishes!!! And congratulate james

Came home on Thursday evening after 1 night in hospital and 2 nughts at birth centre (which was lovely) as mr muggins was beings pickle and having lo blood sugar.

Hopefully you will have babies soon. Will check back to see the stories xxx

Gerty1002 · 31/08/2013 06:41

Good luck to those being induced today/tomorrow!

I had yet another uncomfortable night of false labour after DTD... surely it has to work one of these times?!

The contractions came back on their own for an hour this morning but have stopped again. Argh!

Going to ask midwife when I see her on Monday whether I should avoid DTD now... wouldn't want LO getting distressed with all these false alarms.

Kkklll · 31/08/2013 06:53

Morning! Still not even a twinge :( getting bored, impatience and progressively more paranoid as time goes by 40+4 now. Booked in for acupressure Wednesday and a sweep, anyone any experience of acupressure?

Queazy · 31/08/2013 07:43

I've only had acupuncture in the past, but have heard good reports of both acupuncture and acupressure supporting the onset of labour.

My baby has moved back to back over the last 2 days. Hugely unhelpful as I'm getting booked in for induction on Thurs. With that double whammy a little bit of me wishes he or she had stayed breach so I could have a c section (I'm a first-timer, so please forgive potential naivety!).

I didn't sleep a wink and meeting a friend for coffee in a couple of hours. My bump has changed shape as baby shifted and it now looks twice as wide. I'm already being stared at like a freak show - this is getting ridiculous!

Anyway, fingers crossed something will happen for all of us over the weekend Smile My husband wanted an August baby, but quite honestly I just want a baby that doesn't take 3 days of pain to get out.... Wink

Loads of luck to those going in for induction this morning. I'll be thinking of you and looking forward to hearing about the beautiful babies

batfuttocks · 31/08/2013 10:09

Well things moving on a bit here! Woke early with contractions but about 20 mins apart. Waters went at about six so on labour ward with irregular contractions. Some intense some are less so. Playing a waiting game! Good luck to the others out there today tooSmile

LilPeasMama · 31/08/2013 10:28

Baby boy born on 25/8 at 15.08 weighing 7.15oz, since then I have been asking what day it is at least 10 times a day Grin

MeanMrsMustard · 31/08/2013 10:49

Congratulations LilPeas!
Good luck to those having inductions over the weekend, and to batfuttocks too. Yay!

I had acupuncture yesterday. She also massaged key points on my shoulders and feet which was lovely and relaxing. Overall a good experience. I felt baby move as soon as she put a needle in one of my ankles - quite strange. Since then I've had increase discharge and mucus (sorry). It doesn't feel like the start of anything yet, but I like the idea that things are headed in the right direction!

I think I'm holding out for Sunday now too. I'd like the baby here before Thursday (our wedding anniversary) but sods law states that if she is born next week, it will be on that day.

Hope everyone is having a good start to the weekend, and managing to distract themselves if necessary.

Gerty1002 · 31/08/2013 17:43

Congratulations lilpeas!

Have actually deactivated my facebook now, messages were getting so irritating. Still getting constant texts unfortunately. Have taken to being ignorant now as I can't muster the energy to send polite replies. FED. UP.

cakebaby · 31/08/2013 19:57

Yeah lilpeas ! Congratulations, any name yet?

Well, had my last sweep this morning, dilated & soft, stretchy to 2cm. Heavy show (sorry) immediately and has continued throughout day.

Bouncy ball...check
Spicy dinner...check
Long, brisk walk...check
Clary sage bath...check (in up to neck now!)
Bags packed...check

DTD not really on the cards!

Now what? Have 12 hrs before I have to ring ward re induction.

cakebaby · 31/08/2013 19:58

Oohh, i like this Bear didn't notice it before!

LilPeasMama · 31/08/2013 21:27

Named Chace James (James) after my dad, DH picked Chace which means hunter so I'm told.

Ohhhh Cake it's sounds like it could be any second now for you!

Good luck to anyone still waiting, it will be here before you know it!!

MeanMrsMustard · 31/08/2013 21:41

Fingers crossed for you Cake!

Boosiehs - can I ask how long your scan/ sweep appointment took from arrival to end? My friend wants to meet for a coffee after and I'm not sure what time to tell her. Thank you!

Well, nothing new here since this morning. Bits of bloody show all day and some very mild cramping but not getting excited just yet.

Boosiehs · 31/08/2013 21:47

Right

Bouncy ball -check
Curry -check
Raspberry leaf tea till it comes out my ears -check
Hot bath-running
DTD -check

Anything else?!

Gerty1002 · 31/08/2013 22:00

Same here boosie except DTD, as another night of false labour might push me over the edge!

Think baby has turned now to have his spine to the front and a foot each side... is this a good thing? Lots of cervix pain now...

HDino · 31/08/2013 22:18

Apart from some back pain and increased discharge (sorry) which isn't bloody in any way, nothing much else is happening! Is this anywhere near the start of something Confused

WaggyBlueElf · 31/08/2013 22:21

Me too boosie and gerty - and a couple of walks with the dog. How much more can he stand before he makes his appearance?!

Congratulations lilpeas, lovely news Smile

batfuttocks · 01/09/2013 00:42

We have a baby here, too! Eight hour labour, sudden delivery at the end, but no tears and now just trying to figure out bf again.....

Boosiehs · 01/09/2013 00:48

Mrs m, about 2 hours.

Congratulations batfuttocks!!! Xx

Had some backache this evening. Fingers crossed.
