Well I'm also finally in the motherhood gang. My beautiful baby girl arrived at five past twelve this morning and couldn't be more perfect. I won't go into the birth story since it's not the sort of thing I'd have liked to have read right before giving birth. We all survived though and it's true what they say - holding that baby in your arms is incredible, no matter what it took to get there.

Congrats other new mums and fingers crossed for some movement soon for the waiters.

Gerty1002 · 01/09/2013 07:46

Ooh congratulations ginger and batfuttocks! Great news :).

Well it looks like the rest of us will be havong September babies, whenever they decide to make an appearance! I'm going to be last aren't I Sad

islingtongirl · 01/09/2013 07:57

Just popping back on here to see how you are all doing - congrats on the new babies! Ginger so glad baby is here. Hang on in there Gerty - wont be long now xx

Queazy · 01/09/2013 07:57

Massive congrats to you both - what great news!

MeanMrsMustard · 01/09/2013 08:44

Thanks Boosiehs.

Congratulations batfuttocks and ginger! Lovely news.

Well, since last night I've had regular pains at the bottom of my bump. A sort of wave that builds up and then fades over about 1 min. It's been happening all through the night, paracetamol hasn't touched it, but I have managed to get some sleep. I'm still getting it now (actually it seems I can bring the pain in instantly by nipple tweaking!). Happening maybe 4 times an hour, but I haven't tried timing. What do you reckon? It almost feels like a bout of food poisoning. I'd hate to be getting excited about eating a dodgy prawn at last nights Thai!

Gonnabmummy · 01/09/2013 09:15

I'm still here too gerty 40+4 today, had sweep Friday. stomped up to my dads house last night (ten min walk, huge hill) could barely breathe when i got there and even DTD last night. Not a sausage :( I think I would like a bit of even false labour because I'm starting to think he isn't coming out!
Tiny tiny bit of show yesterday morning but nothing since

Gerty1002 · 01/09/2013 09:47

MeanMrs That sounds like what I get after DTD, usually lasts about 6 hours before easing off, but I get that same pain almost instantly with nipple tweaking at any time - it goes when I stop.

However it could be the start of something for you... I don't think there's any way to tell except waiting it out unfortunately, see if it progresses further.

MeanMrsMustard · 01/09/2013 10:16

thanks Gerty. Sounds like it could be the same thing. Bugger!
Do you find the pain stays the same regardless of position? And did you have any other symptoms at the same time? My pain doesn't ease when I stand up/walk etc and I am still losing small amounts of bloody show. The pain is dealable with (although if I wasn't pregnant if be quite worried about the level iykwim) .
Oh we'll, I guess I'll just have to wait and see. Again.

Boosiehs · 01/09/2013 10:25

Congratulations Ginger!

Well all my signs stopped overnight. Argh!!!band I woke up in he night in a panic as the baby didn't seem to be moving. All ok now but a rather stressfull half hour. :(

Boosiehs · 01/09/2013 10:27

Sunday morning DTD time ladies. Let's get these babies out!!

Gerty1002 · 01/09/2013 10:30

MeanMrs Yes the pain remained even when I moved around. Same here that it was painful but not enough to warrant going to hospital.

That's just me though and if you haven't done anything like DTD that has brought it on then it could be the start.

Gerty1002 · 01/09/2013 10:31

MeanMrs PS I haven't had any sort of show yet, if that makes a difference. ..

Boosiehs · 01/09/2013 10:48

No show here either. Looks like I'll be having that induction after all.

MeanMrsMustard · 01/09/2013 10:50

Thanks again. I had acupunture on Friday which could have brought it on. Ugghhh I don't know! I've tried googling and everything is so contradictory. False labour is different to bh isn't it? I expect it is just false labour. In which case I hope it stops soon. Don't want another 12 hours of this.

Hope you get some 'real' symptoms soon too. How far overdue are you?

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 01/09/2013 15:02

Meanmrs, sounds like labour to me, because of the losing bloody show etc. my contractions with this baby were all really low down around bits/bum, it was cervix stretching pain! Good luck, hope I'm right and it is real. Have a warm bath!

Congratulations on all the babies! Ginger, I hope you're ok and recovering well, arnica can help with healing, and volterol is great for after pains etc

Gerty1002 · 01/09/2013 21:33

I'm not sure if I'm just becoming more complacent, but I feel like as time goes on I'm feeling less and less niggles.

Come on baby :(

shentok · 01/09/2013 21:54

hi gherty, I'm 40+2 the same as you and not had even one single niggle! all I can imagine now is being preggers for the next two weeks before being induced Sad DH is hugely disappointed that he has to go to work tomorrow, had very high hopes that our wee boy would appear over the weekend Smile

MeanMrsMustard · 02/09/2013 00:24

Well, about 5 mins after my last post I lost what I thought was a bit of water and some fresh blood. Called midwife and they told me to come in to be on the safe side and they'd check me out. Both me and midwife were a bit shocked when she examined me and I was already 5cm dilated. I was sent straight to labour ward and given another paracetamol :-)
DD was born at 19:44 after quite a lot of pushing. She's a chubby 8lb 13 but very cute. I'm shattered still and going to try and sleep now.
Hope to hear other people's good news soon.

And Boosiehs - all the staff have been fantastic and I can fault anything here at Uclh. I'm sure you will have a very positive experience too not so far off.

islingtongirl · 02/09/2013 03:21

Ahhh congratulations MrsMustard! Glad you had a good experience at Uch, I did too. Enjoy your new little one and hopefully see you on the post natal threads!

cakebaby · 02/09/2013 05:49

Anyone about? I had a HUGE sweep yesterday morning and must have lost all show/plug now. Dull but increasingly rhythmic cramp ALL under bump & in back (nothing above) overnight. Are contractions only from top of bump? Can't stay in bed anymore, too uncomfy. Is this the start? Baby is back to back.

Gerty1002 · 02/09/2013 07:15

Ah glad to hear yours wasn't a false alarm MeanMrs! Congratulations!

cakebaby iirc MeanMrs said her pains were all at the bottom of her bump and as you can see she now has newborn cuddles, so fx for you!

shentok We also had very high hopes, would really have been the best time as now his grandad won't get to meet him for another two weeks and DP is starting a new secondment today that we were hoping to just conveniently delay for two weeks. However, now that pressure is gone I do feel a little more relaxed about when he comes, just hoping for a natural labour before induction.

Queazy · 02/09/2013 07:24

It sounds like it is cakebaby - really hope so for you, as sounds like a long night. My baby is back to back too - some shift during labour. How exciting - nearly there! Hope you're doing ok

cakebaby · 02/09/2013 07:44

Thanks ladies, now about 10 mins apart, lasting just short of a minute. Just broke the bloody frost free fridge in a frenzy, trying to get a huge piece of ice out the back that's been lurking for days. Seemed like the most important thing in the world at the time Confused

Will try to update but no 3G in hospital... assuming this is it!

Gerty1002 · 02/09/2013 08:01

Good luck!!

Gingerandlemon · 02/09/2013 08:05

Hi ladies. Thanks so much for all the well wishes. We are still in hospital but hoping to transfer to our local MLU today and then hopefully home a few days later.

Oh and just out of (slightly gross) interest, I didn't lose my plug properly until I was very aware of being in labour (and probably about 3cms or so) and although I'd had some leakage, my waters didn't gush until the membranes were properly broken quite late on in the process. So both of those things surprised me!

Also, I know I said this already but it honestly is worth it. My little girl is the cutest baby ever born, and I'm not exaggerating, or biased or anything :)
