Me too. We found out we were pregnant on Christmas Day. Surely that's at least 10 years ago?

batfuttocks · 29/08/2013 22:05

My bfp was 17th dec. that's about 11 years ago I think. Smile

Gerty1002 · 29/08/2013 22:10

We found out Christmas Eve :)

Now it's due date eve and I hope this baby is as punctual as his father and certainly not his mother

Queazy · 29/08/2013 22:10

What are you doing to pass the time? I'm now 4 days overdue and had already done all the buying stuff/cooking/sorting. Pretty bored of it now and too big to do much cleaning now (honestly, I'm like a whale). My house had reverted to being dirty and we've started eating the meals from the freezer Smile

mrspaddy · 29/08/2013 22:11

Can I join... I am 38+4... I also am wondering will it be an August baby but it wouldn't worry me, I am one myself! Didn't do me any harm. How are your energy levels..? I have slowed down a lot.

mrspaddy · 29/08/2013 22:12

We found out on New Years Eve.. It was a dry Grin

Gingerandlemon · 29/08/2013 22:25

I'm passing the time by taking reaaaaally long baths (I'm also whale-sized and nowhere else in comfy) and reading books. I couldn't even be bothered to cook and freeze stuff. At least my husband is off this week, he keeps me marginally less mental and brings me cake to the bath.

Gonnabmummy · 29/08/2013 23:11

I've gutted the house last couple days, going shopping first thing in morn and having a huge batch cooking day, filling freezer.

Have a sweep tomorrow at 12:30 will be 40+2 so hopefully that doesn't spoil my cooking Grin

DP is off fri and sat so hopefully sat eve so he's a bit rested FX

Gerty1002 · 30/08/2013 07:18

I've been taking as many uninterrupted, relaxing candlelit baths as possible :). During the day I pretty much sit around waiting for DP to get home, then we often go somewhere such as shopping or to visit someone to get me out of the house.

Due date has finally arrived... I have this weird notion in my head that if it doesn't happen today I am doomed to induction in two weeks time. Let's hope not!

MeanMrsMustard · 30/08/2013 09:30

Morning (again!) Another day, another wait.
Gerty - I know exactly what you mean about due date or doom. I can't picture going into labour naturally now. I'm only 3 days late, and had convinced myself that this was going to happen, but I can't shake off the feeling for some reason.

One of DHs friends had a baby yesterday. It was due 2 days before ours, is beautiful, and obviously I am very happy for him (and her, although I don't know her really). BUT, I am so jealous and even more convinced now that I am going to be pregnant forever. Gah.

So, I have an acupuncture appointment this morning. Then I'm going make a plum compote with plums from the garden followed by a few hours bouncing on the birth ball watching a film. And drinking raspberry leaf tea. I might even clean out the cutlery draw!

Good luck everyone.

Queazy · 30/08/2013 10:14

Morning all,

Great minds...I just cleaned out the cutlery draw!! Rock and roll Smile Your day sound good tho, and going to copy you on the DVD.

I've already eaten a giant cookie this morning. I'm comfort eating for Britain. It's ridiculous.

I've also already had two texts this morning from people asking if there's any news. I always thought the pre-baby bit of mat leave was basically a 'holiday'...I can't relax as I'm obsessed by thoughts of induction next week, and have an 8lb (at least) boulder on my stomach!

I'm hearing news of loads of other preggers ladies having their little ones before me too. Only 40w 6d but feel like I've been pregnant my entire life Wink Not sure how people have 5/6/7+ kids....impressive stamina!

StartedAfresh · 30/08/2013 10:51

Posted a couple of times but just wanted to say that hang in their ladies

As yesterday was my due date I resigned myself to the fact that I would be late so last night enjoyed a curry and a relaxing night with my DP - at 9.30pm started to get awful backache and needing the toilet so thought it was dodgy curry - by 9.45pm I recognised the pains from my first labour and so tried not to get too excited as they had been on and off BH for days
By 10 they we coming every 3 mins apart so had a bath whilst DP sorted childcare for our DD then made way to hospital at 10.45pm
Straight to delivery suite whereby I Wanted to push 1st push resulted in water breaking, 2nd push his head arrived and 3rd push his body came so he was born at 11.15pm - 1 hour 45mins from first pain (weight 8lb 4oz)

It can happen as sporadically as that - I am home now but wanted to say to you ladies that it can happen this way for you too -DS is gorgeous and happy - here's to some quick and relatively pain free labours for you all

Boosiehs · 30/08/2013 11:18

Congratulations started!!

I'm relatively happy if he stays in until Sunday. No serious pains, last night was v crampy but nothing today. He's merrily getting bigger and bigger......oh Lordy.

41+1 today. Having a trip to the pub with my friends tonight. We shall see if planning things encourages eviction!

shentok · 30/08/2013 12:11

hi girls, due date today and no signs so far. We had curry last night and I've had a morning of cleaning and bouncing......nothing! Do any of u share my silly fear of leaving the house on ur own? A friend has mentioned meeting in town which is only a 10 min stroll from home but I am seriously considering driving!

cakebaby · 30/08/2013 12:18

Hello ladies, congrats started ! See you on the postnatal thread.... if I EVER get there.

Not a twinge. Final sweep tomorrow, before induction Sunday.

Off to try and buy Clary sage for the bath.

Harumph......

batfuttocks · 30/08/2013 12:44

Congratulations started. Sounds a perfect labour! I'll have one of those, please.

Three days over today. Although, today was my original due date, before the scan moved it ( which makes no sense as usually, they don't move the dates unless the scan s more than five days out). I reckon I'm actually due today. So BRING IT ON!

Am off into town, armed with two children, to meet a friend. Trying to tempt fate ;-)

Gerty1002 · 30/08/2013 13:38

Congratulations, started! I'd love my labour to sneak up like that tonight :).

Queazy · 30/08/2013 14:50

This gives me hope - maybe mine suddenly start too Smile Congrats - fantastic news!

I'm getting itchy about people wanting to organise stuff in mid/end of Sep. I could end up having the baby on 7 Sep if induced next week, and already feeling pressured to make family do's and baby showers etc.

I'm fine with walking places now but turned into a social recluse a few days ago and haven't met up with anyone. No one lives close by and don't want to drive more than 30mins away. Fingers crossed the sweep on Mon works

BelleEtLaBaby · 30/08/2013 15:56

Hi ladies - can I join? Due a week today but I've been having cramps for a couple of days - or possibly it's all in my head as I want the baby out NOW :)

WaggyBlueElf · 30/08/2013 16:50

Hi ladies, I think I can qualify to join you now.

40+2, been getting cramps over the last few days which got my hopes up slightly but had MW apt this morning and baby still isn't engaged and they couldn't do a sweep. Increasingly uncomfy, heartburn-y and bored bored bored.

I just want to meet my baby! (Hopefully after a labour like Started's - congratulations! Grin)

Queazy · 30/08/2013 16:58

The more the merrier (or more uncomfortable, as the case seems to be...). I had a midwife appointment today too, and baby has turned to be back by back. Likely induction AND back to back...it gets better and better Wink She did say that many women go into natural labour by 41w 5d before induction, so I shouldn't think induction is a dead cert now. Hopefully we'll get our babies over the weekend Smile

I've been amusing myself by guessing the gender using gender prediction websites - not hard science but passing the time!!

Gonnabmummy · 30/08/2013 17:06

40+2 today had a midwife app, she managed to get sweep done on 2nd attempt. She said cervix was soft and stretchy which was good but not to expect anything yet 1cm dilated.
Booked back in on 7th for another if I make it that far

Had a very productive day spent a bomb shopping and in the last four hours I've made, broccoli pasta bakes, bolognese pasta bakes, lasagnes, cooked a chicken, had a chicken dinner, made a chicken soup and a chicken curry!
Had a whale of the time and the freezer looks way better than normal frozen crap

Cheated with curry and got a jar of sauce but made the Tom sauce for bolognese from scratch :) ooo the smells coming from my kitchen today!

dexterpat · 30/08/2013 17:11

With ds2 I was booked for induction on 42+1 12/1/11 @1am on 11/1/11 my waters went got to hospital at 3am (was checked by grumpy midwife as 'just' 3cm) was told I was ok to stay ds2 born at 4.26am with his eyes open Blush- you can go naturally right to the last moment (ds1 was induced) ds3 37weeks tomorrow - when people ask how long I've got left I say 5 weeks!!( they do look at me Blushas I'm massive Angry!!)

Gingerandlemon · 30/08/2013 20:57

Well things have changed a bit for me. My waters started leaking this morning so I'm booked in to be induced tomorrow morning. Quite afraid of the whole induction/hospital business :(

Queazy · 30/08/2013 21:25

Ginger, you will be absolutely fine. I hope you get some sleep tonight, and it all goes well in the morning. My midwife said that, though you need to be monitored a bit more, they do everything they can to make it as much of a natural process as possible. At my hospital, you can still use a pool for a water birth to support you too. Tomorrow you might have a beautiful little baby in your arms if it all happens quite quickly. You'll be fabulous Smile
