Aww bex - hang in there! Either things will develop and you'll have the baby without needing to be induced or hopefully contractions will calm down so you can get some rest. Chocolate and a bath for you!!!

Midwife just phoned me 'to see how I was getting on'. FML. It's one thing when it's all your friends / family are phoning to ask where the baby is. It's another when the midwife phones you to say she was sure I would have gone last week!!! Just took DS to McDonalds. A nasty cheeseburger and coke has made me feel much better Wink

Bexmathews · 17/08/2013 13:50

Do it, cry that is, I haven't resorted to wine yet! I feel much better after a proper good cry ( proper good one, sobbing, wobbly lip and snot everything) and husband being a star!

Contractions have gone right off now, few twinges is the last hour or so. Afternoon of sleep and food for me , getting ready for another night of it tonight, although am tempted just to go to hospital hand cuff myself to a doctor and demand a c section!!

One good thing to come out of this for me is that it's getting me used to not sleeping as up until this week have been getting at least 8 hours a night :)

Bexmathews · 17/08/2013 13:51

Thanks all your messages it really does help :)

Gonnabmummy · 17/08/2013 15:38

38+3 today and something's not right girls, it may be it. Woke up in agny with back, actually feels like its broke in two. Pain is only in back but coming in waves had a bath and its not going.
Had a couple niggles and can barely walk..
Probably getting worked up over nothing tho tbc...

LittleMissSnowShine · 17/08/2013 17:07

Anyone tried doing anything daft like this? community.babycenter.com/post/a29385185/must_read_labor_inducing_exercise

The belly rubbing is def giving me plenty of BH but with my dodgy SPD i have to be pretty cautious with anything like squatting or lunges but im alternating between rubbing & bouncing. Prob won't do anything but you never know!!

MrsLianeB · 17/08/2013 19:45

Congratulations snuppeline!

Deffo going to try that tomorrow littlemiss had a bit of a cry today am just in so much pain now between my back hips and the little monkeys movements I had a bath in the early hours and been taking paracetamol every 4 hours don't want to use my tens as I'm worried the pads will lose their stickiness if I overuse before labour.
Been bouncing on the ball most of the day and just ended up with more pains in my pelvis than anything else.

ZingWantsCake · 17/08/2013 20:29

snuppeline Congratulations! Thanks

LittleMissSnowShine · 17/08/2013 22:19

mrsliane - that happened to me last time with tens machine lol had to improvise with some sticky tape Grin worked fine tho so use away at the tens..

Half feel like something might be happening here but hard to say. Been having contractions for about 40 mins that seem stronger than BH and really dodgy tummy all evening but still a long way off phoning midwife. And of course it's still possible that it will all just stop again

Boosiehs · 17/08/2013 23:11

Oh ladies. I feel for you all. My mum is phoning every day to see if anything is happening. Not had anymore pains today, but man my back aches father more than 5 mins of standing up. Meh.

You can all have my early birth vibes. :)

Gerty1002 · 18/08/2013 03:28

Well after having a hell of a 'clear - out' last night from both ends (sorry tmi) I have now woken up with mild contractions... these ones have came all on their own without DTD or nipple stimulation haha, so that has to be a positive sign :). Hopefully.

LittleMissSnowShine · 18/08/2013 08:08

Contractions knocked off again for me round midnight but then woke me with sporadic ones starting again around 5am. Now they are lasting about 30 seconds and are every 4.5 - 5 mins. I've also finally had bloody show. With dS this bit lasted for ages tho i keep hearing second time should be a bit quicker. It's painful but only using tens and walking about and i can just about talk (swear!) thru them still so not quite there yet but just judging by how i feel i don't THINK this is a false alarm...But we'll see!!

Gerty1002 · 18/08/2013 08:47

Ooh sounds positive LittleMiss! Exciting!

Mine have disappeared again but I don't think I was in any fit state to go into labour last night, so probably a blessing in disguise.

Boosiehs · 18/08/2013 08:57

Good luck littlemiss!

LouiseD29 · 18/08/2013 09:44

Good luck LittleMiss. Sounds encouraging. Gerty, hope you're feeling ok.

41+1 here. Had sweep yesterday but cervix still very long so doesn't look like anything's happening just yet. Have another one booked on Tuesday if no progress. Am fairly fed up!

LittleMissSnowShine · 18/08/2013 10:30

Still going on so I decided to get my mum to pick up DS cos I've been throwing up and I didn't want him to get scared cos my labour with him was long, painful, intense & v pukey!!! Just took some strong paracetamol and hanging out in rocking chair with the tens machine on. Not progressing v fast but def not abating either so hopefully be at hospital this afternoon fx fx fx

Hope everyone else doing ok today too, time for waters to start breaking all over this thread GrinGrin

PurpleDana · 18/08/2013 10:37

Good luck little miss
Ok, I am now officially in the overdue club :-(
40+1 never thought this would happen!

Acceptableinthe70s · 18/08/2013 10:46

Officially due now. No signs as of yet.

Gingerandlemon · 18/08/2013 10:49

Good luck littlemiss! All sounds very hopeful :)

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 18/08/2013 13:02

Sorry to hear about all the sickness and stop start stuff going on, sounds unpleasant and frustrating. Good luck everyone who might be in labour or is trying to be in labour! I hope it speeds up and goes smoothly for you all.

Nothing happening here beyond lots of nesting, I've just woken up from a 2 hour long nap after jumping out of bed at 6am to disinfect my microwave, clear the washing basket and sort through the kitchen cupboards which hadn't been done for about 3 years. Blush

I'm not a morning person, this is pure preggers craziness. Grin I can think of a dozen jobs which need doing ideally before the baby comes, fridge, oven, ironing, kids bedroom, carpet cleaning, lawn mowing, pram covers washing, not to mention the never ending tidying of the kids play room where the birth pool is meant to be going. I think I could go on like this forever and not reach show home status though, I'm fighting a losing battle against my two!

Meant to be taking them out somewhere to wear off their energy shortly, I wish dp would take them on his own so I could have a bit of child free time before he goes back to work tomorrow. They're driving me batty!

Bexmathews · 18/08/2013 13:46

Hi everyone, good luck little miss

My contractions have only just stopped since Thursday every 10 mins and pretty much no sleep! At 6 am this morning had a hysterical sobbing fit which resulted in knocking the contractions out of sync for a while.

Never getting closer than 10 ish mins and too painful to sleep through :(

I swear if someone offered me a c section right now I would take it. It's not even just the pain, it's the constant contractions that are not progressing anywhere and being utterly exhausted!!! Midwife just said how normal this is!!!! It doesn't bloody well feel normal. Have a good day mummies to be xxxxxxxx

cakebaby · 18/08/2013 15:00

Any advice ladies? Warning TMI.....

Due next sat, no BH, show, nothing. But for weeks now have had rotten tum, but now this has ramped to apocalyptic evacuation 20 mins after eating anything for the last 2 days, no cramping or sickness. Keeping to a plain diet and drinking loads to try and stave off dehydration. Have had really bad head yesterday which I thought was going to be a migraine, went to bed and awoke feeling better. Headache back today, achey joints, feels bit fluey. Quiet bump, moving but may feel different, may just be my paranoia. Normal 39 week grottiness or something else? DH at work & thinks I'm a worrier.

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 18/08/2013 15:34

Let the mw knowif you're feeling poorly cake baby, especially with things like headaches and feeling lousy. They may just want to do a quick checkup of you to check your bp, urine etc. hope you're feeling better soon.

I do feel for you bex! Nothing I can say will make you feel better but honestly all that work your body is doing will be doing something! Even if it just means that when labour does kick off it'll be reasonably quick and straightforward. x

cakebaby · 18/08/2013 15:44

James thank you, I think I'm feeling sorry for myself really, but I might just run it past the MW anyway.

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 18/08/2013 15:58

You're allowed to feel sorry for yourself, the end of pg can be crap and miserable even when you are in perfect health! Only reason I'm not totally fed up of being overdue is because I'm so worried about passing on the cold sore virus to the baby. I'm willing her to stay in til the danger of infection is over. No sex, no curry, no sweeps, no ball bouncing. I'm ignoring the pregnancy and hoping all stays quiet for another few days. Confused

Mayanbob · 18/08/2013 16:46

Urgh! Least fun development of the day? I have a sodding cold/ chest thing going on. Fuck.
