hi everyone - hope your mondays are going ok - especially you lucky - hope being back at work isn't too horrid. nice one about your holiday to menorca!! when do you go? we're heading on hols on 10th june and i can't bloody wait!!

pumpkin congrats on joining us!! and santa congrats to you too!!! were you the only fertile fridayer this week? brilliant to see you here :)

shell so sorry you had a hard time with PIL over the weekend. and good luck for your scan tomorrow! don't forget the lucky socks :)

pink you're totally making me want a dopplar - how many weeks were you when you first got the hb? i'm really tempted

aoife thanks for sharing your bowel movements ha!!! i haven't been constipated at all (usually the opposite) but i think i might be a bit today as i still haven't been but i'm feeeling all bloaty

stitch loving the mantra - i might try that every morning too!!

choc that's brilliant that you've got your appointment made :) my next hospital scan isn't until 31st may when i'll be 14wks (hopefully) so i've just booked a NT scan for 16th may when i'll be 12+3 (hopefully). £250 lighter but it's got to be done. obviously as soon as i hung up the phone i started getting some tweaky feelings but i'll just pretend that its the bean getting excited to be seen on the screen again.

hi to everyone else :) hope you are all keeping good!

does anyone know about parmesan?? i was in tescos at the weekend and picked some up but it said it was made with unpasteurised milk so i put it back. but we're going to an italian restaurant tonight so just wondering as sometimes stuff is already sprinkled with it.

x

BumpKitty · 29/04/2013 15:01

janie you'll have to ask them if is pasteurised or not as you can get both, they normally ask you if you want it before grating it on though don't they? and yum Italian :)

choc well done for booking, we all had increased nervousness straight after booking! I hadnt got any notes for my one and it wasn't a problem.

aoife glad to hear normal service is resumed

pumpkin and santa hooray!!! welcome to the mad house

shell PIL they are sent to try us... the scan will make you forget all about them promise.

so... 12 week scan done Grin lovely wriggly baby with hands and feet! So wriggly it took ages to do the nuchal measurement but she got there in the end. All good. Now I have the rest of the day off so I may do some maternity clothes shopping! Oh and I advanced 3 days, I'm now 12+2 EDD 09/11/13

IBelieveInPink · 29/04/2013 15:26

Oh my god bump I totally missed tht your scan was today! Yay! How exciting! Another one moves over into the 'safer' catagory :) this makes me so pleased :)

Janie- I was 10+4 when I first got hb. Ooh are you getting one??

DIYandEatCake · 29/04/2013 15:31

Hooray bump congratulations! Definitely clothes shopping time! That's wonderful news, you must be so chuffed.
Hi everyone else and welcome and congratulations santa and other new people (sorry not to remember names, I'm on my phone again).

BumpKitty · 29/04/2013 15:40

thanks ibip and DIY i've been a bit quiet over the weekend in the midst of pre-scan doom, but over the moon at the moment Grin

Aoifebelle · 29/04/2013 15:40

Woo Hoo Bump - what a milestone - beats me having a poo well into second place for good news.
Hadn't made the connection good 12 week scan = shopping! That stuff has been so far from my mind, just living scan to scan at the mo.

JanieLovesCake · 29/04/2013 15:43

Woohoo bump that's super fab news!!! Have fun shopping :)

Pink I'm really tempted (read that as...on eBay as we speak!)

JanieLovesCake · 29/04/2013 15:44

Ps pink what's a reasonable amount to pay for one? Is it ok to get a 2nd hand one?

ChocolateCremeEggBag · 29/04/2013 16:47

Fab news Bump Flowers

Janie - I am also v tempted to get a Doppler (look at me tempting fate after already booking scan today) which ones are you looking at? I think one with a wand looks better than the big flat ones

OP posts:
JanieLovesCake · 29/04/2013 16:54

Ooh chocolate glad you've been tempted too!! I'm in work so just had a quick look on eBay so not done proper research. I might have a good nosy tonight when we get back from dinner. If you find any good ones please share :) I want one NOW!! Although going on my poas rate, I might use it twice a day oops ha!!

IBelieveInPink · 29/04/2013 16:59

I just borrowed a friends one, angel something.... But I would guess that a wand one may be easier to use than this one as it is flat, and therefore is hard to angle it (which you need to do when hunting for baby early!)
I haven't used the other type though so can't say for definite.....

andadietcoke · 29/04/2013 17:02

Bump that's brilliant! I was moved forward at mine too - I felt like I'd got some 'free' days in terms of my pregnancy progressing!!

Closing my ears to all this Doppler talk. Don't want one at all. Oh no. I really do, I just know I would be a neurotic mess I need a friend with immense will power who won't give in to my whinging and will ration it. Saying that, I'm better this week as I can feel them both moving and I have less cramps (but no less aches).

Antenatal appt tomorrow. Need to start my campaign for a scan at 24 weeks. Also need to ask about when they'll induce if they need to for my mat leave date and also get my mat1b form. Oh, and everyone wants me to talk to them about my anxiety levels. Apparently, to the outside world, this isn't 'normal'. Shall I send them in here?!

IBelieveInPink · 29/04/2013 18:02

Diet - feel them both moving? How exciting! Must be like a party in your belly!!
And yes, send anyone you like in here. We will make them crazy within 2 hours. I'm sure people are just entirely deluded about how hard this all is!

BumpKitty · 29/04/2013 19:41

oh god anda I'd say your anxiety levels are textbook, 'people' just do not know what this is like.

I don't want a Doppler as with DD the mw always really struggled to find her heartbeat, she was behind the placenta and it was always really stressful waiting for the mw to find it (once she looked for ages then said to me 'have you felt the baby moving today?' before eventually finding the heartbeat - i was nearly climbing the walls) I could not manage that level of stress if this one ends up hiding behind the placenta too!

Shopping is on hold as I realised it's not payday till tomorrow! Though I have started packing away some clothes that I hopefully won't be seeing for a while, see-ya evil tight work trousers :)

GardenWorm · 29/04/2013 20:02

Ha ha Bump I am jealous twofold; your fab 12 wk scan and the banishment of tight work trousers! (can't wait to ditch mine)

Anda I think you can possibly use your 'anxiety' as they like to call it to your advantage in securing a 24wk scan! That's what I'd do anyway Grin

andadietcoke · 29/04/2013 21:19

Heehee garden it has occurred to me. However, I've used my 'anxiety' for evil already once today - the MIL wants to start knitting. I've told her I don't want her to jinx anything this is true, but I also know I won't use anything she knits for me

ChocolateCremeEggBag · 29/04/2013 21:43

Anda - get your MIL a Debbie Bliss knitting pattern book for babies. Her patterns are lovely (but the wool is £££ so may help to limit her)

DM knitted loads of stuff for DS (still does), I just had to go with it and ask her to do complicated things like cable tank tops which take her a bit more time.

OP posts:
shellshock7 · 29/04/2013 22:19

I've just ate Parmesan janienever thought abt it tbh....hope it's ok Shock I have the angel sounds doppler and it's worked for me no probs, was abt £20 from amazon.

bump big congrats on your scan, bet you're on cloud nine right now Grin

anda if it makes you feel any better I didn't really use mine once movements became strong an regular so the doppler ship may have sailed for you now Wink People who haven't had MC are just lucky to have that blind faith that everything is fine, we were prob the same first time round...it's one of the worst thing abt MC is the loss of wonder/excitement/naivety Hmm

My DM knits for DS and I love it Blush She knits really grown up chunky cardis/tank tops etc tho not baby stuff Smile Although we do have far too many blankets Wink

andadietcoke · 29/04/2013 22:22

cremeegg you are a genius. They're lovely. Considering buying the book and the wool for the ones I want - there are some gorgeous jumpers and blankets. Thank you!!

ChocolateCremeEggBag · 29/04/2013 22:34

And my work today is done Wink good night everyone

BettyFlutterbly · 29/04/2013 23:08

Hi ladies long time no post!!
Sorry I am so bad at this. Work, toddler and pregnancy are tiring me out!

Welcome to the newly pregnants and congrats!!!!
Yey Kitty second trimester (near enough) and a healthy baby. I'm so glad.

I'm almost un the third at last! 25weeks tomorrow. I have such a lovely big bmp now and a little party animal inside me who, like her sister, likes to keep me up all bloomin night.

I am trying to knit a patchwork blanket for dd but think it'll end up being for my grandkids haha! Dm also knits some lovely cardigans for my lo and also for me!

I must try to sleep. Take care of yourselves and your bumps.

Night x

Zeuxippe · 30/04/2013 03:03

Hi everyone, just checking in!

Congrats to santa, lovely to see you on here Grin

bump 12 weeks wow fantastic! I can't imagine how good that must feel.

7+4 here now and the days are going so slowly! Need to have the patience of a saint for this lark!! Also it doesnt help that the girl opposite me at work is pg with her first and due in June so all she talks about is birth plans, prams and baby outfits. If I wasn't pg I don't know how I'd cope with it... she has no idea what some people have to go through.

GardenWorm · 30/04/2013 06:06

Choc those knits are soooo cute!

IBelieveInPink · 30/04/2013 08:46

Good luck today shell. What time is your scan? Will
Most definitely be thinking of you! :)

andadietcoke · 30/04/2013 09:03

Good luck shell - have everything crossed.
