IBelieveInPink · 28/04/2013 07:23

Aw bod I can sympathise, my DH is also car crazy. Only difference is I would never be allowed a convertsble, he makes all the car decisions any anything I like he seems to dislike in the extreme!

11 weeks today. Actually beginning to feel like this might happen. Of course this thought also scares me (doesn't everything?!)

Hows everyone's weekends going?
Shell - you -11 weeks too right? How you feeling?
Janie- how was DH birthday?
Vix- how was your birthday?

Zeuxippe · 28/04/2013 07:32

vix hope you had a lovely birthday and the party went well!

bod glad to hear dh hasn't messed up re car - sorry you're having to say goodbye to the glamorous convertible though, sounds lovely!

ibip have those cramps gone now? Hope you are ok x

Well, no joy with getting an early scan through the GP on Friday. In fact I didn't even ask because it was the dreadful woman I had to deal with over the phone at the end of January when I started to mc. She was really cold and cutting, disagreed with my dates and even went on about how likely it was I would have another mc this time. Came home quite upset. Anyway, today i am pregnant and she's referred me to a midwife at least.

Hope everyone else is doing ok.

BlackholesAndRevelations · 28/04/2013 08:24

Zeux- that's terrible! I'm Horrified that she said you have a possibility of mc again! Seriously make a complaint about her. I'm glad you're feeling positive today!

Bod- I wish my dp was into cars! He hasn't got the first idea which means I always have to ask my dad if I have car issues. Sad to wave bye to the convertible but... It's for a good reason! Smile

vix- hope you had a lovely birthday, I too was pg on my 30th and it passed by quite uneventfully but that was fine by me!

Happy weekends everyone x

andadietcoke · 28/04/2013 09:05

Zeux that's awful. Put your stubborn hat on and prove her wrong!!

ibip 11 weeks?! Blinking heck, that's gone quickly - for me, probably not for you! After seeing a heartbeat, it's massively in your favour everything will be alright though you know?! should take her own advice

Bod I feel your pain. I've got to get rid of my beloved beetle. It's only 2-door and not practical with twins getting car seats in and out. Would have persevered with one but I think two would wreck my back and the boot isn't big enough for a twin buggy (neither is our front door, but that's a different story!). DH is going to drive it until I go back to work and we need two 4-door cars so I have it for a little while longer yet!

Bodicea · 28/04/2013 09:26

diet your front door comment made me chuckle! Gosh you have so many things to think about with twins.

Bodicea · 28/04/2013 09:31

I had my convertible before I met dh. It's like a symbol of my young carefree life in my twenties. Now am in my thirties living in the burbs with a sensible car! Obviously I am much happier now than I've ever been but letting car go feels like ending of my youth a little bit! Will get over it

JanieLovesCake · 28/04/2013 10:02

oh bod you poor thing :( you should put a framed photo of it on your mantlepiece

last night went fine - thanks ibip, and thanks to everyone for the tips :) i managed to ask for the cocktails without any booze in them, and the barman gave me my first one free! and only charged me 2 quid thereafter! so i'll be back there!! it then clicked that another friend wasn't drinking either and she seemed a bit under the weather and she asked could she have a chat with me. she told me that she was on antidepressants and she wasn't allowed to drink and she was so fed up with people questioning why she wasn't drinking...so i came clean and secretly told her i was pg and i would be her sober buddy - we're both at the same wedding next week so we can be each others shield.

i'm going to try to make a birthday cake for DH today....just remembered i better not try the raw batter mix

hope you all have a lovely sunday, and good luck with the front door anda!

IBelieveInPink · 28/04/2013 11:34

Zeux- what a horrid gp! How nasty! If you feel you can manage it something really should be said, so she doesn't do it to others, but I know I wouldn't manage it!
And thanks, yes the cramps have calmed down. I think I was just really tired and had been stood up to long! I am officially a lame pg person!

Diet- I know! It's funny, you getting to 20 weeks seems quick to me, but I bet every day has dragged! Same with me, looking back it seems quick, but actually going through it feels like forever!

JanieLovesCake · 28/04/2013 14:02

god zeux i totally missed your post about your gp. that's horrific. there's a doctor t my practice who i will refuse to go to after the treatment he gave (or didn't give) on 3 occasions. if you have it in you to write a letter of complaint then i would encourage you to do so. i regret not doing it after my experiences but i just didn't have the energy to do it last time. perhaps dh/dp might do it on your behalf?

JanieLovesCake · 28/04/2013 14:04

ibip and anda i know how you feel. i'm shocked that i'll be 10 weeks tomorrow... double figures doesn't seem real at all. and although the days feel like years, all of a sudden we are where we are and things are good!!! i still remmeber getting the 1-2 on the cb digi like it was yesterday

Zeuxippe · 28/04/2013 16:25

Thanks everyone. The GP isn't a permanent doctor at the practice, so don't think I'm going to complain for that reason. Going to make sure I never deal with her again though!! and diet, that was my reaction too, that I'll damn well show her how wrong she is by carrying to term this time!!

Hope everyone's having a good day today

pumpkinsweetie · 28/04/2013 16:55

Hello there can i join, very nervous and trying to be excited as i got my bfp 2days ago!!
Had a miscarriage in feb, and trying to be optimistic my little bean will stay sticky.

andadietcoke · 28/04/2013 16:59

Hi pumpkin congratulations! We're mostly bundles of nerves so you're in good company. Take every day as it comes and don't stress about aches and pains - I can almost guarantee you'll come on here and at least one person will have experienced exactly the same Smile

Higg · 28/04/2013 19:54

Hi everyone,
Hope your all having a good weekend, Hope everybody is well and little beans a ok too, ive been following everyone but I've had lots of thing going off bubba making me feel dreadfull nausea 24-7 and so tired but I've had to have2 emergency scans been having cramps which were making me double over but on both scan bubba had a very strong heat beat and doing a little jig, I've got my 12 week scan in a week and half can't wait to see him/her again, one my first E scan after I was told all was ok before I saw the screen the first thing I said was " please tell me there's only one in there" don't think I could have coped with the thought of twins again not after loosing the boys.

ChocolateCremeEggBag · 28/04/2013 20:31

Hello all. Back from weekend with friends. Was lovely, but I ended up carrying DS a lot today (forgot pushchair) and started to get "tight womb" feeling. Not exactly cramps, but not comfortable either. Ibip - glad yours have gone
We went out on Friday and Saturday night which was lovely but am now knackered!
Have decided to book in scan for May 18th when I should be 9 weeks, thanks fr the advice everyone, better to wait to (hopefully) see more

Sorry if I miss anyone:
Janie - well done with the not drinking, feel bad for your friend, it must be awful to have people assume you are pg when you are really not and trying to get yourself out from under shitty depression cloud.

Zeux - GP sounds a right bitch, makes you wonder what her motivation was to go into that vs another less patient facing.

Pumpkin - welcome and congratulations!

Bod - I had my sights on a Daihatsu Copen when I first met DH, he convinced me out of it and has been such a regret of mine. We now live in the sticks and now need a 4x4 for at least 3 months of the year to get out so not ever likely to get one until I retire (whenever the hell that will be -70? 75?)

Lucky13ForBaby · 28/04/2013 20:33

Hi all. Welcome pumpkin. Hogg I have been having dou le over cramps too last week . Maybe it is normal after all. Totally freaked me a d gp would t refer for scan. Thought I'd just wait it out. Was meant to be going to Wales in a few weeks but be ause of the measles epidemic we not going to risk it. Have booked a holiday to menorca instead! Very excited at the prospect of sunshine and beach! DS keeps asking to go on a plane too :) may distract me a little! I have reached the 10 week mark today! Feel rough as and keep heaving! DS can't understand what I'm doing! I'm not a very fun mummy right now! Back to work 2mor. Got to face the long commute trying not to vom on lap!

WillSantaComeAgain · 29/04/2013 10:25

Hello all, - BFP on Friday, and now having a complete nervous rollercoaster of emotions. I think I may revert to denial that I'm actually pg. I've had two MMCs in the past nine months (one found at the 12 week scan, the other at an 8wk scan that the MW advised me to lie to the EPAU to get). At the moment I'm just hoping for a bean as both the last two were anembryonic. Once I have a bean I'll start hoping for a sticky one!!

So, early scans? Anyone managed to convince their GPs to get them one?

shellshock7 · 29/04/2013 10:48

Sorry been AWOL (PIL drama, they only had to week 3 more days till scan but couldn't so had a terrible weekend Hmm) sorry abt your GP zeux, glad car is sorted bod

Hi pumpkin congrats and welcome Smile

higg hope you are coping ok, hope your week and a half goes very quickly Smile

choc good choice with scan timing, that should really set your mind at rest by that stage Smile

lucky good luck today x

Hi santa congrats Smile Hope it all goes smoothly from here...think we all paid for private scans and 8-9 weeks has been the best time for peace of mind.

So double over cramps for me too at weekend, think it was the stress/upset...doppled yesterday and HBwas there so just gotta wait for scan tomorrow now (pink its 27h 15m), I bloody hate scans Hmm but hopefully it will sort my head out for a bit Smile

IBelieveInPink · 29/04/2013 11:10

Hey Santa

Shell I am very Jels of your scan soon-ness! I think we are t the same point, seem to be having a lot of similarities, and yet I am waiting a whole 1 week 21 hours and 54 minutes! But also very excited for you for tomorrow. :) not long to go now!! Eek. Sorry to hear your pil are being a nightmare though. Thanks

shellshock7 · 29/04/2013 11:18

My GP asked for the earliest date and apparently nuchal can be done from 11+2 so it really is the earliest...just hope it can be done. Yeah was crap, I wasn't gonna see them till after the scan to avoid the stress but along the stress comes 3 bloody says before Angry

Have you resisted another dopple?!

IBelieveInPink · 29/04/2013 11:36

Ha! No chance. I was at it again yesterday. Have put a stop to that though, am only going to allow once more between now and scan as panicked myself yesterday. First that I couldn't find it. Then when I did, that it was SUPER quick. I know they are v quick, but this was ridiculously so. So no more!!! Will try and behave self :)

shellshock7 · 29/04/2013 11:39

I was good with DS once a week, unless i had pains or something, till I felt proper kicks....will do the same this time...I know I did yesterday but that was extenuating circumstances Wink

Aoifebelle · 29/04/2013 12:10

Pumpkin and Santa welcome. I am wishing you both the very stickiest of beans.
Lucky swapping Wales for Menorca, you are living up to your name. I am off to Portugal in may and I CANNOT WAIT!
Sorry about all the cramping people, it is really really horrible. Proper freaked me out (and also put the fear of god into me about labour!).
Chocolate I know what you mean about the tight womb feeling if you over do it a bit. I am a first timer, so a new sensation for me. It is definitely a cue for me to put my feet up
Zeux what a shitty GP. I must have been so incredibly lucky everyone I have dealt with has been amazeballs. If I encountered same I think I would either be a) so dumbstruck I would say nothing, or b) go completely hormonal, pregnant lady batshit on her ass.
Janie great to hear you are on good form. Time does march on doesn't it? 10 weeks is a good round number.

For me I am feeling very satisfied with myself. I paid for pigging out on bread for or with every meal in Paris by my guts completely ceasing to function. Cue massive bloating and constipation. However, thanks to a weekend of my OH being on fibre patrol normal service has been resumed. I thought you would all appreciate me sharing. Smile

stitchinline · 29/04/2013 13:55

Been following along everones news. Exciting news with more bfps and
Not much to report here, still chanting my little mantra each morning 'today I am pregnant' to encourage my postive thinking - I found it really helped me last time until I coudl actually start to feel movement or use the doppler. Obv still being very early not much to report in way of symptons except extreme tiredness and bloating.

very excited for your soon to be scan shell

I'm thinking of booking my scan in for when i'll be 9/10 weeks - will be doing it privately as I have a strong aversion to internal scans (our epu will only do internals). The first time I mc I had an internal at 8 weeks and saw baby with a hb and then I mc the next day so although it is a bit irrational I'm quite reluctant to have one again.

ChocolateCremeEggBag · 29/04/2013 14:14

Hello
Just bit the biscuit and booked my early scan - Saturday 18 May 9.20am - feel a bit sick now. 19 days/456 hours to go. I'll be 9+5 per my LMP date, so hoping for at least 8 week bean to show up.
Had to email them as the last screen flashed up to bring my maternity notes. As I mc'd the day after booking in last time, I'm planning to only book in after I've (FX) had the scan. But don't want to get turned away.

Hi Santa - so happy to see you over on this thread Flowers
