Aoife- I'd get results too, would not be able to relax at all on the holiday otherwise.

DIY amazing news on your 9 mm baby with heartbeat!! Bless it Smile I wonder if I keep to my resolve of waiting til 12 weeks or not.........

BlackholesAndRevelations · 26/04/2013 19:30

Yes it is but you're still welcome of course! Everyone wants to know what it's like to have five kids! Flowers

Aoifebelle · 26/04/2013 19:30

Hi Amber and welcome. The old thread made it a bit clearer that this was set up for ladies who have a had a MC. I don't think this is meant to be exclusive, but you may experience a higher than average degree of anxiety / general mentalness in here, but there is also great support available.

Vixjane · 26/04/2013 19:42

Evening all,

Sorry for the quick read and run, am preparing for 30 th birthday party for tomorrow and having guests stay as well for the weekend!

Congrats on scans, milestones and booking appts today. DIY great news on the heartbeat!

Had my booking appt this aft and she was really lovely. Got my next appt with her om 20 May where she visits us at home and then 12 weeks scan on 21 May ( i'll be 12w 3d then). Feels a lifetime away!!

Aoifebelle · 26/04/2013 20:40

Sweet Jesus I feel like a beached whale that someone has taken a bicycle pump to. I am soooooo bloated. Just managed to get some dinner into me, now I am trumping out of both ends and have developed a really attractive kind of inside out burp that make me sound like a frog searching for a mate.oh thinks it is very funny indeed,I am less amused. This pregnancy stuff is not glam in any way. Bring on the bloom.

BumpKitty · 26/04/2013 20:58

vix Happy Birthday!!! i was pg with DD on my 30th, twas lovely - we played rounders. Bit weird not drinking but you can make up for it next year :)

aoife ha ha hilarious, I think i waited 41 weeks to bloom last time (still waiting). I blame any particularly bad smells on the dog or the toddler Grin

IBelieveInPink · 27/04/2013 09:58

Happy birthday vix!

Aoife- I feel your pain. I have had the bloating. Seems to be worse some days than others. Not found anything that helps yet- nightmare!

JanieLovesCake · 27/04/2013 10:04

Happy birthday vix!! Hope you have a lovely weekend Grin

We're heading out tonight for dh's birthday, going to be difficult to pretend not to drink... I'm actually feeling a bit sick this morning, hoping morning sickness isn't kicking in just as I thought I'd escaped it

IBelieveInPink · 27/04/2013 10:09

Janie- is it a byo restaurant? Can you try the byo weight watchers wine trick?
My friend actually got through the whole of her dh's birthday, by just holding a glasses of prosecco. They were out in a bar though, so she moved around groups regularly so no one got too suspicious.

andadietcoke · 27/04/2013 10:16

Happy birthday Vix!

Janie I suggest one of the following...

  • you had too much to drink last night so taking it easy tonight. May also explain away feeling a bit crap
  • it's DH's birthday so you're on designated driver service
  • cradle one drink all night and drink lots of water
  • talk to the waiter beforehand and say that whenever you order, for example, vodka and orange, you just want the orange. Sniff before you take your first sip and if they mess up slip it to DH. This can go wrong on many levels though!!
  • antibiotics. But that seems to be almost as good as announcing you're pg!!

Have a lovely evening. Once they've had a few drinks no one will even pay attention to what you're drinking.

JanieLovesCake · 27/04/2013 10:23

Aw thanks girls, you're so lovely :) fab ideas. It's not byo sadly (although I did pass the weight watchers wine trick on to my pg buddy! Still genius!) they do jam jar cocktails so I might work out a non alco version and stick to it!! To be honest I'm pretty sure people will start asking soon as I'm driving every time we go out and would never have done that before!! Got a wedding next weekend do might tell a couple if people then, I'm not paying £25 in a taxi each way when I could just drive!!

IBelieveInPink · 27/04/2013 14:46

Argh! I'm away with one of my friends who doesn't know, managed to keep it quiet so far, but have stayed up super late last night, had to eat runny egg this morning, and been stood up so long I now have strong cramps! And I can't even make excuses because she doesnt know! Waaah!!!

andadietcoke · 27/04/2013 15:01

ibip I had runny egg on toast for breakfast. As long as the whites are cooked and it was lion stamped you'll be fine. For cramps - drinking lots of water seems to help me, and don't be scared of taking paracetamol too!

IBelieveInPink · 27/04/2013 15:34

Thanks diet. Always there when I am having a crisis! Will drink lots of water :)

jmf294 · 27/04/2013 15:40

Happy birthday Vix- hope you have a lovely weekend.

Janie- it's a hard one pretending to drink alcohol, but hopefully after a few drinks everyone else will be too tipsy to notice.

IBIP- hope the cramps go and they say eggs are safe, I love eggs but when I feel nauseous I couldn't eat them.

Aoife- I'm in the bloating club too- it's horrid, last night I felt like I had a football in my stomach!!

Andadietcoke - how is the list making going- are they going to share a cot?
Hello everyone else- hope you are all having a nice weekend.

Having a quiet day at home, feeling so tired and fed up of feeling nauseous all day, I shouldn't complain but it's yuck and was never this bad the last 2 times. 6 days till scan at the FMC!!

shellshock7 · 27/04/2013 15:44

Yes take paracetamol, that got me thru 'black Wednesday' Smile till I used the doppler

andadietcoke · 27/04/2013 16:39

Oh shell! It's daft isn't it - paracetamol absolutely fine to take in moderation and yet despite all the pain I've only been driven to it twice!

ibip I'm only always here because I have no life at the moment but am saving lots of money

jmf I'm such a geek. I found the Windows for Mac Excel wedding budget template which has a countdown and everything. DH (who clearly works in the public sector) has insisted on three quotes for everything (he was joking but I'm so doing it!). I've finished the 'travel' sheet and am on to 'sleeping'. Oh that makes me sound like such a loser, but see previous comment about having no life, and am also chained to the computer as the company website went down for 1.5 hours around lunchtime so am scared to leave the house in case it happens again (I have access to email enquiries and am on the management team so can bitch slap IT into sorting it out if necessary). After that little rant, to answer your question, we've been given two Moses baskets but love the idea of them sleeping together. Maybe a travel cot with a mid-level base for next to the bed? No idea...

jmf294 · 27/04/2013 17:23

Strongly recommend sleeping bags as soon as your girls are big enough andadietcoke!! Some of the bags start at 8lbs and before that swaddling blankets are brilliant for keeping arms down and stopping them from jerking themselves awake!!
How exciting!!! You should be able to get some god discounts as you will be buying so much.

Bodicea · 27/04/2013 17:35

Hello people,

Drama drama. Husband set off on road trip to other end of country to buy me a more sensible practical car today. Yes I know it's ridiculously soon but mine is a convertible and start of summer is when you get the best price so was gonna sell it now what ever stage of pregnancy/lack of pregnancy I was at. Anyway he is on his way back with a completely different car -( different make, saloon rather than estate) to the one he set out to get and from a private seller instead of a dealer. arrgh! Just wrung me from services to tell me there is a teeny little problem with it but don't worry! Arrgh! this is why I didn't want to buy from private seller!!!

andadietcoke · 27/04/2013 17:48

Oh bod I'm sorry, but that made me giggle. I can't wait to hear what the 'teeny little problem' is!! Shall we have a sweepstake?! My money's on it being a bizarre colour and/or missing something fairly essential!

jmf yep, grobags are on the list Grin

jmf294 · 27/04/2013 17:57

Oh God Bod- I would be going ballistic but that's because I'm a control freak and my husband is a terrible shopper!
Hope it's only a minor issue and a lovely car.

Aoifebelle · 27/04/2013 19:04

Oh dear bod you got the "darling, slight problem, nothing to worry about but ..." call. I am betting it has a fleece lined steering wheel, a 10 year collection of magic trees and he has just found the latest copy of dogging weekly in the glove box.

Bodicea · 27/04/2013 23:24

Panic over. Think it just hadn't had a good run in ages. Kicked out load of crap and started driving normally again. Still gonna send it to garage for good check over - but stuck with it now whatever. I haven't been much interested in getting new car been as bit depressed about getting rid of my lovely convertible. Husband is a car bore and has been researching it for ages and loves that kind of stuff so left him to it - only stipulation was it had to be automatic and newer than current car, if only by a year. Took my beautiful car for a valet and drove home with roof down in the sun. Putting in autotrader tommorrow. Sniff Sad
