Aw thanks for all your advice and support. On one hand I know that things could be totally fine and that it's totally possible to not hear, but on the other I'm bricking it. So grateful for all your wise words, would be going round the bend (even more) without you guys.

Pink hope you get no calls, and mummy I hope you get double hcg news :)

How will we sleep tonight!? Night night xxxx

DIYandEatCake · 09/05/2013 22:28

janie and mummy, hugs. It is very early for a Doppler to work, I remember it took a while for the midwife to find dd's at our 16w appointment. I had an anterior placenta, think it might have got in the way a bit. Could just be that the baby's not in a convenient position tonight, not long to go til your scan, hang in there. I think men don't understand the level of anxiety - mine p'd me off when I was stressing by going 'do we really want another baby anyway? Maybe just having one would be best...'! mummy hope it's all good news tomorrow. I think 4.5 weeks is very early for symptoms, mine have only got really noticeable in the last week and I'm 9 weeks today. I think the slight nausea started about 6w.

No more throwing up today, though still feeling very sick and off most foods, hope yesterday was a one off freak occurrence as I really don't want to have to take any drugs, stressing enough about the baby already! Feeling a little sad tonight, have been breast feeding 2yo dd but didn't yesterday night as too ill, she had a bit this morning but tonight was getting fidgety and not getting anything out, I asked if she wanted cow milk and she said yes and drank the lot and went to bed happily. Pleased if she is weaning herself as that was the plan (and nipples are rather sore...) but... my baby's growing up!

Bakingtins · 09/05/2013 22:43

((HUGS)) for DIY. My baby is 3 on Tuesday and so grown up - going swimming by himself, in the preschool group at nursery, wearing his big boy pants very proudly...he was breastfed until just after his 2nd birthday and I engineered him stopping as I thought it was stopping us TTC - very mixed feelings about it. You've done a wonderful thing for your daughter and hopefully it won't be too long until you are cuddling another baby.

Mummy try not to worry and get a good night's sleep. I hope tomorrow's results are reassuring.

Janie I'm sorry the Doppler has worried you, but there is a reason the MW don't even try until 16w. How long until your scan?

Aoifebelle · 10/05/2013 07:09

mummy I hope you get some nice big fat Hcg numbers today.
Janie hope you are feeling less freaked out this am. Sounds like Dopplers can be very hit and miss. I think bod called them the devil's work. Hope you have a scan super soon.
I have the first part of my harmony test on Monday, and the freak out has well and truly commenced. I didnt have to get up to pee last night and my appetite has vanished. It was about this stage last time I mced. I think what is freaking me out most of all is the realisation of just how much I want this baby, and I just don't know if I will be able to even vaguely hold it together if it goes wrong this time. I am generally a pretty tough old bird, but I think that might break me. Come on Monday.

shellshock7 · 10/05/2013 07:55

Good luck with the results today mummy Smile

janie better luck (very full bladder and very low!) if trying again today, otherwise only one more sleep till the scan, then relief Smile

pink hope you've got no mates and you phone doesn't go off at all today Grin Seriously tho, am sure it's fine try not to be on edge all day Smile

GaryBuseysTeeth · 10/05/2013 08:22

Good luck with your results mummy....I convince myself 3 or 4 times a day that this pregnancy isn't going to work out, won't believe it will until I'm holding a live, healthy full term baby!
Good luck with the Doppler Janie, I found after a big meal & pint of water was best...and aim a lot lower than you'd think!

Sorry to hear you've still got a worry with the NT results Bod.

Blackholes, hope DP has made up with you?
JMF what a horrible way for your mum to act! My mum hasn't actually said 'Congrats' yet, instead she's in a weird competitive thing with PIL, wants to know how they knew first/why they'll be first to see newborn etc Hmm Good luck for when you do tell your mum Baking.

Congrats on 12 weeks Garden!

((Aoife)), hope it rolls around to Monday quickly.

Having a massive wibble about buying stuff for baby, with DS we bought stuff but I didn't open or prepare anything before we bought him home, which is great when you're bf, but I'm planning on ff this one so I need to at least buy some milk for going into hospital with.....just mental concerned if I acknowledge I expect to have a baby something will go wrong. appreciated!

Any nice plans for the weekend?

Mummytothearkbuilder · 10/05/2013 08:53

Thanks for the messages ladies.

The doctor has phoned with my results but I'm not sure how to feel about them - they are doubling but they are low :-(

07/05 - hcg 88
09/05 - hcg 178

She said that the doubling is good and that's what I should focus on and that the range for "healthy / normal" hcg is so large (and these results do fit into that)

Does anyone know what to make of them - I might post in pregnancy to see if anyone has a positive outcome with low hcg results.

If this is a non-viable pregnancy I honestly don't know if I could go through this again :-( xxx

DIYandEatCake · 10/05/2013 09:04

Well they've doubled so that's the important thing, I was told that's what they look for. You're only 4.5 weeks so early days... If they keep doubling they'll be let's see, 360 in 2 days, 720 in 4, 1440 in 6, 2880 in 8... The numbers can soon go up. I can't remember exactly what mine was when checked at 5 and a bit weeks but i think it was 1000-and-something ie the same as yours will be. Does that help? :-)

Mummytothearkbuilder · 10/05/2013 09:08

Thanks DIY - I'm just so anxious and feel like I bring my DH down when it talk to him as he is so positive.

They won't test them again so I just have to hope it works out and wait for an early scan - I jut feel like this waiting game is where I was 3 months ago xx

DIYandEatCake · 10/05/2013 09:14

Oh and garden wait til you get to competitive Christmas and birthday present buying Grin. Plans for the weekend are hopefully tidying up the house, place is a tip after my 2 days doing bugger all. Am feeling much better today, just normally queasy, but of course am now worrying that means something's gone wrong! Oh and doing some practice, stupidly agreed to play a couple of solos in a concert in July and have lots of notes to learn...

Pentagon · 10/05/2013 09:53

mummy it's so early, the figures can't be too high and they're doubling which is what they should be doing! Try to keep positive, I know it's hard - fingers crossed for an early scan that will give you a reassurance!

pink I'm sure you won't get a phonecall today :-)

I told my parents even before I got my BFP - I was pretty sure I was pregnant and they knew we were trying so I couldn't lie. Also it's really obvious when I'm upset, there's no way I could have hidden it from them had things gone wrong. And they are very supportive in their own way, with both my MMCs they were upset and worried about me but they tried to play it down for my sake, which helped to be honest.

Blackholes I hope things with DP are better now

Aoif and Jmf I'm sure you'll both have good news at the FMC next week.

janie & lucky good luck with your scans tomorrow!!

JanieLovesCake · 10/05/2013 09:57

Mummy your results sound great!! Doubling nicely! But I understand all your worries, they're totally normal.

Thank you everyone for your Doppler wisdom. I think if I tried it any lower DH might think I'm performing a sexy act ha!!! 23hr 49 mins til scan. Hardly slept last night and kept having bursts of sobbing. DH getting v pissed off with me, he's not used to me being negative about anything, I'm always a half full kind of girl so I think he's quite shocked and saying 'oh come on' is zero help. He may as well be telling me to shut up grrr. But yes the anxiety is kicking in, I know he's probably feeling it too but just better at hiding it.

Roll on tomorrow x

Mummytothearkbuilder · 10/05/2013 12:35

Thanks for your comments ladies. I have spoken to the midwife and she seems to think the doubling is more important than the figure itself. I have an early scan booked for 24th May - 2 weeks to wait!!

Janie - good luck for tomorrow - I will be thinking of you!! X

IBelieveInPink · 10/05/2013 12:49

Mummy - yay for early scan. That's fab news. Midwife is right, doubling is good, no way to know for sure when implantation was, much more important to know it is increasing at the right rate, whatever the levels are.

Janie- not long now lovely. Only a little longer to wait. Soon be all done and happy time.

Vixjane · 10/05/2013 14:09

Mummy - i was always told that the doubling bit is the important bit to look for. Fingers crossed for your scan!

Janie - it'll be time for the scan before you know it! Fingers crossed for you. DH said outright no when i suggested a doppler, i think he knows the likelihood is i'll get obsessed!

Just found out i've got a job interview!! I'll be 12w 4d when i interview so still able to hide it. Have spoken to my line manager about maybe telling them at the end of the interview but she said i could do myself out of the job and to tell them if they offer the job to me. Never had any experience with this, anyone had experience of this happening or when i should tell them? I haven't told current dept officially that i'm pregnant, the job is same company but different department and campus.

WillSantaComeAgain · 10/05/2013 14:41

So, this morning I saw..........a heartbeat!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had some spotting overnight and rather than spend the weekend freaking out I self referred to the EPAC. Only a two hour wait and it was the same sonographer I had with both MMC. Still terrified and not ecstatic, as I just don't want to get my hopes up, but at least there is something there this time.

Vixjane · 10/05/2013 14:49

Congrats on the heartbeat santa! It's amazing when you get to see it for the first time. We had a scan after some spotting at 6 weeks and was exoecting bad news but they showed us the heartbeat instead! X

IBelieveInPink · 10/05/2013 15:03

Aw Santa. Sorry about the spotting but v pleased for you about the heartbeat. Yaay :)

Mummytothearkbuilder · 10/05/2013 15:57

Santa - amazing news!! So pleased you sure your little one beating away!! Xxx

JanieLovesCake · 10/05/2013 16:01

Congrats on the interview vix!! Great news! You're not obliged to tell them and personally I wouldn't tell them. As far as I'm aware 26 ish wks is the latest you need to tell them but check in case I'm wrong.

Sorry for your spotting worry Santa, but YAY for the heartbeat!!!! Great news!!

I've got my lucky socks washed and ready for the morning. Think I'll watch movies tonight to pass the time and drink litres and litres of water before having the Doppler constantly on while DH is out

Mummytothearkbuilder · 10/05/2013 16:03

meant so pleased you SAW the heartbeat

Must proof read before posting!! X

Pentagon · 10/05/2013 16:04

Fabulous news Santa!! You must be so chuffed :-)x

Pentagon · 10/05/2013 16:44

Vix I forgot to say congratz on your interview! I think Janie is right, legally you only have to tell work by the time you're 25-26 weeks. Good luck!

GardenWorm · 10/05/2013 16:55

Vix say nothing, in my experience pregnant/mother = NO! My employers are a large company and should know better but there is a distinct two tier system with mummy's on the bottom.

Fab news Santa, very happy for you Grin

Good luck for tomorrow Janie, can I suggest an epic type film? May assist with sleeping!

JanieLovesCake · 10/05/2013 17:04

thanks Garden... yes definitely a loooong film..or two! x
