Lucky, hope it turns out to be nothing.
I had protein (+++ if that means anything), ketones & blood in my sample at 16wks, not so much as a UTI

Flowers & Brew for DIY, sounds like you're having a horrible time of it. Hurrah for passing your milestope x

Bump, glad everything looks ok & hope they don't find anything at the scan tomorrow...you'll be bored of looking at baby by the time it arrives at this rate Grin

to JMF. Good luck for tomorrow morning!

Baking, cheers for the iron liquid info. I'm usually ok with iron tablets (had been on 200mg a day for 10yrs prior to DS) but completely forgot to factor in how rubbish pregnancy constipation could be! Off to Boots tomorrow!

Hope we get some more grads tomorrow,

GaryBuseysTeeth · 02/05/2013 19:21

My vibes are so awesome they caught katerina in their gravitational pull.....Welcome & congratulations!!

katerinaemalina · 02/05/2013 19:34

I should have joined last fri but too scared to tempt fate

DIYandEatCake · 02/05/2013 19:43

Hmm, I guess he's thinking that if there was bleeding the wee could have picked up a bit on its way to the pot... But you'd see it if there was significant blood wouldn't you? Blimming doctors, some of them are great but some of them just don't think about how you might be feeling. Still can't believe zeux's doctor.

From what I remember from last successful pg, the midwives won't even try to find a heartbeat with a Doppler before 16 weeks as it's so hit and miss early on, so try not to worry ibip, you might have been picking up something else last week or the baby might just have been in a more convenient position then.

DIYandEatCake · 02/05/2013 19:48

Hi katerina woo hoo! Wishing you lots better luck this time, sounds promising! Yes I think cramps are normal, though at about your stage I panicked so much about mine (they did have me doubled over) that I went and pestered a slightly befuddled gp who did nevertheless refer me to be checked not an ectopic (my last miscarriage was suspected ectopic for a while so I'm perhaps a bit paranoid!)

IBelieveInPink · 02/05/2013 21:16

The little bugger has changed sides! No wonder I couldn't find it! Chillin on the right side now. Honestly!!!!

Okay, so its 'what would you do' time.......

I have been invited to a thing in November. Baby time. Tickets go on sale tomorrow. About £50.
If baby works out, I won't be able to go. I may be able to sell my ticket.
If I don't get a ticket and things go tits up, I am gonna be so annoyed.
But it is £50 that realistically, if I am being positive, I shouldn't spend, as I won't actually get to go!
Wwyd??

BumpKitty · 02/05/2013 21:44

ibip I am certain you won't be ale to go so I think you should save your money. And I wouldn't want to tempt fate by buying one, but I'm a bit of a nutter :)
Glad you found the little un again, roll on 7th May!

BumpKitty · 02/05/2013 21:46

And hi katerina all your signs are sounding very positive to me :)

pumpkinsweetie · 02/05/2013 22:11

Welcome Katerina and congrats Thanks

Goodluck to everyone having scans

Yay for you Diy for passing your milestone Smile

Lucky its probably nothing to worry about or something simple like a uti.

I haven't even booked in with midwife yet, not sure when to do it as things have changed alot since my last dc. Also not wanting to tempt fate after mc in feb. When did you guys book in ?

BumpKitty · 02/05/2013 22:54

pumpkin I tried to put off contacting the midwives for ages but eventually caved in and phoned at about 8 weeks, I ended up having my booking in at nearly 12 weeks - the main issue is they can't book your 12 week scan if they don't know you are pg!

ChocolateCremeEggBag · 02/05/2013 23:10

IBIP - now come on, what is the "thing"? You can tell us. Depeche Mode?

I would get the ticket personally as would be invoking the law of sod that you won't be able to go

OP posts:
ChocolateCremeEggBag · 02/05/2013 23:13

Pumpkin - I know how you feel re booking in, my mc started the evenin after mine Sad.
I've made the appt for after my private scan this time so will hopefully be 10 weeks ish. But called yesterday and May 22 was the next available slot so glad I did call as otherwise could have been waiting a whole lot longer for my "real" first scan

OP posts:
IBelieveInPink · 02/05/2013 23:39

Chocolate - busted. Damnit. :)

Thanks for the advice ladies. I have gone with 'invoking the law of sod' (love it) and will have a ticket which will hopefully never be used!!

Forgot to say before, hello to katerina!

Pumpkin, I was the same as you. Especially as 1st mc happened day after booking in. But then my friend suggested that perhaps I should get booked in, so that should anything happen that concerned me, I would already be 'in the system' and would have a good point of contact. This made sense to me, And helped me see booking in as a good thing rather than a route to mc!

GardenWorm · 03/05/2013 06:08

Ha ha ibip loved your Dopplers are the devils work shortly followed by I found baby on the other side! Made me chuckle. At the mo I'm feeling a bit unpositive (not aided by wierd mc/birth dream last night where a sac dropped out of me with a miniature fully formed yawning baby - analysis wise I can't decide now whether this was an mc or a pain free birth! Nuts!) so I figured if I struggle and don't find heartbeat I won't feel worse but if I do....Grin Oh and a Status Quo gig is nothing to be ashamed of not sure how big the resale market is though?

Pumpkin my booking in is next wk and I'll be 11+6 slight extreme of pushing it but the Drs failed to mention the new system and I went to what they told me was my booking in last week but in fact was a pointless leaflet giving session, most of which would be in the recycling bin if that wasn't fate tempting. Rant over!

GardenWorm · 03/05/2013 06:12

Hello Kat and Happy Scan Day to Bump and jmf Smile

pumpkinsweetie · 03/05/2013 06:58

Thanks everyone, I'm only around 6wks so i will start the ball rolling with midwife on Monday as like you say i wont want my scan booked much later than 12wks or i will go out of my mind with worry. Haven't thought about asking for an early scan, I'm going to bare it in mind for reassurance sake. But i doubt they will agree as my mc went unrecorded as it was a natural mc & i just knew there was nothing that could be done. Will tell midwife about this though so it goes in my notes.

IBelieveInPink · 03/05/2013 07:01

Garden - I have had a lot of those dreams. I understand how much they can freak you out.
Best advice for using dopplar early, drink a lot. Like you are going for a scan. Works much better. And I try and find my own heartbeat first, followed by the 'whooshing' noise (video on you tube tells me this is placenta) and baby is usually hidden somewhere around that. Takes a while though. I got super lucky the first time I found it.

andadietcoke · 03/05/2013 07:12

Happy scan day jmf and bump Smile good luck!!

garden I've had three so far. They seemed so real that every time I woke up I was so surprised to still be pregnant. The one that really messed with my head was when I had one nightmare, woke up, and went back to sleep, and had another mc nightmare where I 'knew' that the first one was a dream but this was real. Again, they just dropped out, complete with massive black eyes. They stopped after 12w, but they really upset me. They just mean you're worried, nothing more. Promise.

BlackholesAndRevelations · 03/05/2013 07:40

Morning all! Hope scans go well today! Wonder if we'll have any new members today? Hope so!

I made it past 6+3- onwards and upwards! Xx

katerinaemalina · 03/05/2013 08:02

Morning! well I am still pregnant this morning. This is surely a slow form of torture! I'm seeing dr for first time at around 7 weeks. They have been a bit crap tbh. I rang them when I got a bfp and said I'm preg. They didn't really tell me what their process was. So far I've had to wee in a pot. Rang up 24hr later. Yeh it's positive says receptionist. Well I could have told you that! Any idea of timings? No. Ok! Then I had to sort out another appt as still not told what to do. Earliest one is not till week after next (though from mn understand this is fine) no idea what dr will do or say. They do know about my past mc so I am going to ask for an 8 week scan but don't hold out hope. What did your dr do? Do you get referred to a mw? When do they do all the tests and chats with you? Just fairly baffled how non forthcoming dr has been!

Pentagon · 03/05/2013 08:48

bump do you also have a scan today? good luck to both you and jmf!

weird dream garden! they come hand in hand with pregnancy, I've had a couple myself

kat welcome and congratulations!! Where I live, you see you GP and he/she contacts the hospital, then you get a booking-in appointment between 8 and 10 weeks (chat with midwife plus bloods for blood group, rubella, HIV, hepatitis etc) then you have a scan at 12 weeks (and the combined test if you wish, for which they have to take more blood) But I believe it can differ from area to area so this may not be exactly how it's done where you live

JanieLovesCake · 03/05/2013 08:55

Good luck to bump and jmf today! Hope you have the lucky socks in :)

Hi Kat! Congrats to you!

Garden and anda your dreams sound horrid :( I've had one or two myself and they're so nasty

I'm

My tummy is tweaking like a mad thing this morning, started to panic but hoping its just the little monkey growing and having a morning stretch. Maybe it didn't like the sausage and chips with gravy I HAD to have last night. I really must eat more broccoli. I'm normally a really healthy water but since being pg I'm just wanting crap and getting the guilts Confused

Have a fab day everyone xxx

Aoifebelle · 03/05/2013 09:06

ibip put your money away love, anyways spice girls the musical has just announced it is closing its run early.
Lucky I am not a medic, but I strongly suspect your Dr may be an arse. There are a million and one reasons for a pregnant lady to have blood in her wee. To even mention the mc word, without any further investigation is just bollocks.
Sorry for the horrid dreams ladies. I seem to either be sound asleep or.wide awake. dream sleep has disappeared.
welcome Kat and fingers crossed for lots more good scan news today.

shellshock7 · 03/05/2013 10:04

DIY I hope you feel better today, sounds very tough Hmm But great news passing your milestone Smile

bump so glad your scan was good, hope you are a bit happier today and the hospital scan is reassuring Smile

lucky sorry you're having a rough time, people can be so thoughtless with how they talk to you, I really hope it is nothing to worry abt x

Good luck jmf Grin

pentagon I used cocoa butter and didn't get any stretch marks with DS so am doing the same now...it might be coincidence but it worked for me Smile

garden good luck with the doppler, it can be a god send when you have some bad symptoms etc, but don't panic if you can't find it....wait till your bursting for the loo and try again Smile pink will be testament to that Grin

Hi katerina congrats and welcome Smile

pink how many weeks will you be? I went to a gig at 38 weeks last time and it was brilliant, wouldnt of missed seeing that band Smile The chances are quite high you will be late as well so you may be available for nights out till the end of Nov Smile

So just had what's up there with the worst 24h of my life...picked up a bad bug from somewhere and ended up with cramps so bad I was doubling over and screaming moaning in pain, being sick and on the loo etc...was very scary Hmm I doppled (all ok) then rang MW who was great, said only way you would get pain like that from baby would be ectopic and we know its not so just gotta ride it out, feel a lot better today so far but not eaten so gonna risk some dry toast for lunch and see what happens, nightmare Hmm

WillSantaComeAgain · 03/05/2013 10:42

Don't mock the Quo.

[I've seen them live]

Feeling a bit guilty - a good friend at work who has been really open about her fertility problems with me and we've shared many a good session moaning about the unfairness of life, has just been round for a chat/moan and to tell me more woes. I know she finds it easier to talk to me because of my mcs, but I couldn't bring myself to tell her today. I know she'll be happy for me, but I also know it will secretly hurt too.

Why can't we decide which of our friends get to be pg and which don't. I have a few friends that I desparately want to have babies (one or two actually more than me) because they've been through so much pain. Oh life is so unfair for so many people. Sad

Still feeling positive but also concerned that I only peeed {how many eeees in peeeeeeeed???} once last night. GP appt next Friday (earliest one I could get with the nice dr) so hopefully he'll refer me for an early scan sometime in Wk 8. Otherwise I will pay for a private one. [Did contemplate skipping the GP entirely, but DH reasoned that it was better to have one "on the record" if its available, and the GP did say I could have one after MC2.]

But its Friday, the sun is shining and a good weekend is in store. Grin [will be waving at any woman walking round carrying a baking tin in case its you baking - I'm off to the same place on Sunday]
