How many weeks pregnant were you when you had your first baby?

1st baby, how many weeks (+days?) were you gone when the baby was born?
Was it spontaneous, induced or C-section with no labour?
If you don't mind saying, how would you describe your ethnic origin (some ethnic groups may go longer than others....)?

39 weeks+0days, spontaneious, American white mutt.

Mummy surfer I was also 32.(only by 3 days though)

36 weeks (twins)

spontanious labour, ending in c-section which was originally planned for 38 weeks.

40 wks + 13 days, induced, labour but emergency c-section, British white.

Dd and ds were both emergency c sections due to placental abruption following placenta praevia. Never did labour I'm afraid. Both white and both had ventilation to keep them alive.

3 pregnancies in between daughter and son, sadly, didn't make it.

43 weeks (hosp thought I was 40+2 - but later agreed my dates!!)

I went into labour at 41 weeks 2 days.
spontaneous waters breaking followed by very slow labour.
White Scottish.

zebra - just realised I miscalculated - I was 39 weeks, not 38 + 4

40 + 6 , spont. (surprise) home birth. white british.

Gel induced at 39 weeks (I have diabetes). Synotocin drip added later, but I was in established labour by then.

White british. I was 26.

1. 40W + 10 days induced, 6 hr labour 9lb 10

2. 35W + 4 days, spont. 2 hrs from waters breaking to delivery, only just got to hosp in time. 9lb 12

Next time, better get a move on, might be in the car park!

oh yes, re dates and cycles - I should perhaps add that I ovulated a couple of days early so dd1 was probably spot on, in fact.

Zebra - sorry, labour was spontaneous.

With ds2 I persuaded them to put off induction as I was sure I would go into labour spontaneously when I was ready and baby was 'fully cooked'
I did go into labour spontaneously in the end, 10 days over my due date.

Interestingly, SIL was induced both times with her dd's after going 14 days over with each.

The consultant told her she was just 'one of those women who are never going to go into labour spontaneously and need drugs to make them have the baby'. Pah!

I'm of the belief that everyone has their own 'gestation period', some longer than others, and if left to nature we would go into labour when the time was right. Obviously only if there were no complications though.
