1st baby, how many weeks (+days?) were you gone when the baby was born?
Was it spontaneous, induced or C-section with no labour?
If you don't mind saying, how would you describe your ethnic origin (some ethnic groups may go longer than others....)?

Ta! My answers are:
39 weeks+0days, spontaneious, American white mutt.

spontaneous
British, translucent-white (midwives kept commenting on it)

Is there a theory here?

zebra · 20/01/2004 15:38

Mostly the widespread belief that "1st pregnancies always go late".

Also, lots of evidence that native Americans tend to go drop before 39 weeks. Many black Americans have a lot of native American ancestery, that rather than the traditionally attributed 'poor nutrition' 'poverty' etc. may partly explain shorter pregnancies... I don't know anything about other ethnic groups, but it's always interesting to ask to see if anything turns up!
