A place to carry on chatting after a BFP and support each other through the stressful bits. I hope to see many new graduates appearing....

Oh squiz I'm so sorry. Hopefully test results will help and set you off on your next journey. TLC sounds like a very good idea. Take care of yourself, hope to see you very soon xx

andadietcoke · 19/04/2013 15:02

ibip I managed with a hair bobble on trousers until after my 12w scan. Me and bloody superstitions!!

I've started my countdown to next Thursday's scan and am already panicking. Have had horrid cramps today. Hopefully the next week will go very quickly.

IBelieveInPink · 19/04/2013 15:14

Oh good I'm glad I'm not the only one! I have been doing the hair bobble trick in the evenings when it is worst... I weighed myself the other day and I appear to have lost a couple pounds, so I'm sure it isn't just all the carbs I have been eating!!

Diet - glad scan is soon, is this your 20 week? Time is flying by! Will you be finding out what flavour they are?

Lucky13ForBaby · 19/04/2013 15:22

Oh Squiz I am so so sorry from the bottom of my heart. I really hope that its not a molar pregnancy and that you are able to get some answers soon. Take good care of yourself and the time you need to recover.

Lucky13ForBaby · 19/04/2013 15:27

I am looking right porky! Was slim before DS but never lost the baby belly and now it is hard and rounded and very obvious in some clothes. Going to have to buy some baggy tops I think!

Pentagon · 19/04/2013 15:30

squiz I'm so sorry! Flowers Good luck with the ERPC on Tuesday - I have had 2 and conceived not long after both times. I hope you get some answers from St. Mary's but if not at least you'll know there's nothing wrong. Take care of yourself and hope to see you back on this thread soon!

Aoif congratulations!! How many weeks are you?

I don't dare wear any maternity clothes until my 12-week scan either, have resorted to dresses lately...

GardenWorm · 19/04/2013 15:47

So sad to hear your news Squiz - ill be keeping an eye out for your reappearance with bump very soon. All the very best with the upcoming tests and TTC. I hope you've had some big hugs in the real world and are being looked after X

Aoifebelle · 19/04/2013 16:16

So sorry Squiz, I hope haivng some clarity will at least give you some peace. I hope you get some answers in the future.

I was told I am 7 weeks, but this is a whole week out on my dates, I reckon I should be 8. trying not to read anything into this, from reading threads on here it seems that at least 50% of ladies think the calculated dates are out.

shellshock7 · 19/04/2013 16:49

anda will that be 20w? Are you finding out the sexes? I'm sure the cramps are nothing to worry about Smile

pink I lost every week, put on 2lb last week then lost 2.5lb this so who knows what's goin on....bump is getting bigger tho so that's reassuring in a way Smile

andadietcoke · 19/04/2013 17:30

shell and ibip yep, 20w scan. We're going to try and find out but the one on the left isn't normally very cooperative at scans and curls up so I don't fancy our chances. The other one is a show off and is always stretched out! Cramps have eased this afternoon. I'm sure it's just stretching and things moving about. I found something today that said cramps in the 2nd trimester are fine unless there's blood.

aoife definitely don't worry - by my 10.5w private scan I was where I thought I was and was at 12 and 16 too.

Hello all! Just brave enough to join you all! I'm sorry I haven't read the thread but will do so tonight. I had a strong bfp today after a less strong one last Sunday. I started the year with two miscarriages (luckily for me they were natural and straightforward) but am still terrified and taking nothing for granted. Flowers to all x

andadietcoke · 19/04/2013 18:34

blackholes lovely to have you here! This thread is a lovely, supportive place, and everyone feels exactly as you do. It's a little refuge from all the pregnancy and antenatal threads.

ChocolateCremeEggBag · 19/04/2013 18:40

Hi Blackholes -glad you came over, good news about the strong BFP Flowers I did my last CB digi today and got a 2-3 weeks so hopefully it's progressing. No more POAS-ing!

Now trying to decide how long to wait before I book an early scan. I think I will try to get to 8-9 weeks and have one on Wed 15 May. But don't know how long to leave it to book. Will no doubt wait too long and the slots I want will have gone.... But if book too early just feel I will tempt fate.

andadietcoke · 19/04/2013 18:45

chocolate I think it depends on how flexible you can be. For mine I rang up and got an appt the same day. DH is a teacher so 4.30pm was fine and I had the day off. I think weekends and later in the evening might be busier.

GardenWorm · 19/04/2013 18:52

Aoife shouldn't worry too much about dates from the scan, the sonographer measured me 7+6 at first then right at the end got a different angle and bean became 8+4 (either that or beans a giant and had a 5 day growth spurt in the space of 10 mins!

BumpKitty · 19/04/2013 20:01

choc might be worth giving them a ring to see what availability is like, I set my heart on a date then couldn't get a slot until 4 days afterwards, which felt like ages! I think these private scan places are pretty busy.

squiz that's really crap, you sound really together though and your plan sounds good to me. I totally agreed with what you said about using savings for this - this is precisely what they are for. We will see you again xxx

aoife huge congratulations, so happy for you, my dates changed loads with DD and she was perfect :)

Re maternity clothes, I'm waiting till 12 weeks too. I wore mat tights before 12 weeks last time and clearly that's what caused my mc Confused it's a good job we are all crazy together! I'm doing the dresses thing too, everyone at work keeps saying how nice I look, I'm obviously normally a scrutter Grin

jmf294 · 19/04/2013 22:31

Squiz- I'm so very sorry to hear your sad news.
I hope Tuesday goes smoothly and you get the tests and answers you need.

Aoife- congrats on the scan, wouldn't worry about the dating a slight mm changes things a lot.

Choc- I was terrified about booking an early scan as well. But equally u need to know. I'm going to the fetal medical centre in London in 2 weeks.

I have horrible nausea that only goes away if I eat.
I'm eating too much and feel hugely fat and horrible.
I used to run a bit but too scared now to run.
Must try harder to eat better!!

Bootyluscious · 20/04/2013 05:57

Hi everyone - just dipping a tentative toe back in....

So sorry to read your posts Squiz & Jbrd - I how things improve very soon Thanks

I just wanted to ask you ladies about symptoms - I'm 5w 2d and only have (very) sore nipples at the moment, a bit of aches & pains every now & then, like AF pains & I'm tired / a tad lightheaded. No sicky feelings yet. Was that similar to you guys that that stage? xxx

Aoifebelle · 20/04/2013 07:09

Morning booty, add in constipation and that sounds about right to me.I am 7 to 8 weeks and my symptoms have been pretty constant. Have escaped ms so far, sickness only triggered by hot food smells. It seems to massively vary from woman to woman and even pregnancy to pregnancy

ChocolateCremeEggBag · 20/04/2013 07:45

Hi Booty - yep sounds like me and I'm 5 weeks ish
Tired, bigger boobs which ache occasionally, occasional dizzy / light headedness, heightened sense of smell and off certain foods which I usually love (DH offered me small glass of red wine last night and I couldn't get past first sip)
Crampy feelings are your uterus starting to stretch (it's got a heck of a way to go)
I didn't get MS with DS1 - really hoping it will be the same this time

Try not to worry as we are all different, and keep your fingers crossed you don't get MS Grin

Bootyluscious · 20/04/2013 08:02

Thanks girls Smile its so hard not to over analyse every symptom / non symptom isn't it! Grin

andadietcoke · 20/04/2013 09:12

Booty I had nothing except sore nipples until I was about 7.5w. Completely normal Smile

MooMoi · 20/04/2013 11:18

Morning All

I just wanted to say hello and thanks to you all for reminding me that I'm not alone and not completely bonkers :)

I'm now 9 wks and my EDD is 22/11 (my birthday!). This is my 3rd pregnancy but have had 2 MC, so was absolutely certain that this time it would be an MC too. Gradually coming round to the idea that this one might actually stay with me:) Had an early scan at 7.5 weeks and all was normal with a heart beat.

So like all of us I'm taking it one day at a time, I'm hopeful but know sometimes things just don't work out.

Anyway Hello :)

Lucky13ForBaby · 20/04/2013 11:45

Welcome blackhole and Moo. Congratulations on your pregnancy. Today we are pregnant! Moo my due date is the day after yours. I'm having a little worry as my symptoms seemed to disappear last night. Please bring them back! I have just booked a private scan at 12 weeks to check for downs and other abnormalities. 3 weeks today. How are we all today ladies?
